Certified entry candidates selected must first meet all the following criteria: Current status as an ILETSB certified police officer and successfully completing the probationary period; and Currently in good standing in the police department in which the person serves; and Possesses substantially equivalent skills and abilities as a Village of Lincolnwood Police Officer, as determined by the Village; and Has at least 60 semester (90 quarter) hours of credit from a college or university accredited by one of the six regional accrediting bodies responsible for evaluating two- and four-year institutions that grant associate s or bachelor s degrees; or at least four years of continuous active duty in the armed forces of the United States; and Taken and passed such examinations as the Board deems necessary to determine fitness for duty as a police officer with the Village. Certified entry candidates who have been determined by the Board to meet the aforementioned requirements will not be required to attend an orientation or take the written entry level examination for police officer. For such candidates, the examination process may consist of an administrative interview, background investigation, oral interview by the Board, polygraph, psychological, physical agility examination (P.O.W.E.R. The Operations Manager will prepare staff schedules, evaluate processes, lead training and mentoring of staff, and evaluate staff at the end of the season.     JOB DESCRIPTION: Operations Attendant EXEMPT: No COMPENSATION CLASS: Seasonal DEPARTMENT: Parks and Recreation REPORTS TO: Aquatic Center Managers & Aquatic Center Coordinators Working under the direction of the Aquatic Center Managers and Aquatic Center Coordinators, the Aquatic Center Operations Attendant primarily works to proactively maintain facility cleanliness and upkeep. The attendant also assists with enforcement of facility rules and customer service. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of all areas of the aquatic center, including but not limited to the pools, pool deck, locker rooms, pool entryway, pool parking lot, and concession stand area Proactively seek out cleaning needs, safety hazards, and maintenance needs throughout the facility. Resolve issues within level of training and report larger issues to on-site management immediately. Conduct frequent checks of the locker rooms and pool decks to ensure all areas are properly stocked with supplies, trash cans are emptied, floors are clear and clean, furniture is in-place, etc. Create a welcoming environment for patrons Provide patrons with a favorable impression of the aquatic center by efficiently and productively completing tasks Handle cleaning equipment and supplies in an appropriate manner and use only as intended Maintain a clean and tidy work environment at all times. Take special care to eliminate and reduce potential hazards (i.e. slip, trip, fall) to the public when completing work in public areas. Work with all cleaning products per the instructions on the bottles Ensure all cleaning products and chemical bottles in use are labeled. Report any products lacking appropriate labels to management immediately. Fully understand and enforce aquatic center patron and staff policies and procedures Courteously, promptly, and correctly answer all patron questions Keep all required checklists, inventory, and paperwork up to date Be aware of emergency action plans and be prepared to perform assigned role at all times Wear proper uniform while on duty Complies with all Village policies, protocols, and procedures Perform other job-related duties as assigned COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: The wage range for this position is $15.50-$16.50 per hour. This position is seasonal and does not qualify for benefits. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: High school or college education in progress or completed Must be available to work at least one weekend day Must be able to attend staff meetings and training programs This position requires the following. Ability to maintain positive and open communication with supervisors Ability to communicate courteously with the public Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations Ability to complete paperwork and inventory Knowledge of emergency action plans for the Aquatic Center Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to properly fill out facility logs and reports as well be able to communicate effectively in an emergency situation. REASONING ABILITIES: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
