Assists in the care/maintenance of all equipment, instruments, and supplies. Assists with maintaining and updating physician preference cards. Assists with case supply selection for next day's surgical schedule. Keeps the circulating nurse informed of case progress. Assists with room turnover. Evaluates the quality and cost-effectiveness of supplies, equipment and services within the goals of the Center. Serves as public relations liaison for the Center with patients, physicians and business representatives in the clinical areas. Participates in appropriate meetings and committees. Participates and supports research and improvement studies that can make meaningful contributions to the quality and economy of nursing services. Participates in Quality Assurance Performance Improvement Program. Participates in adverse incident reporting program. Performs daily biological testing of each autoclave. Maintains accurate logs of each biological test Accepts deliveries from outside vendors as needed. Qualifications High School Graduate or GED One (1) year Clinical experience in the perioperative setting preferably in an ambulatory surgical setting Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist training program preferred CORT preferred BLS competent Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work as a team player. Excellent math skills that allow for precise work (basic algebraic equations and monetary calculations). Strong organization and problem solving skills, proficient with Microsoft applications #ESP2
