Schedule: Wed, Thur, Fri, Sat 3pm-11pm Salary: $23.00 / hour The CCS Mental Health Counselor will provide direct service to youth who have behavioral health symptoms, mental health, substance use or co-occurring disorders behavial health in a Community Crisis Stabilization (CCS) Program. The CCS Mental Health Counselor will help prepare youth returning to the community to engage in a recovery process and to communicate their strengths, hopes, dreams and goals to the team. The CCS Program is designed to provide a staff-secure, safe, and structured crisis stabilization and treatment environment for those who require 24-hour per day care in an unlocked treatment setting in a community-based program. The CCS Program serves as a medically necessary, less-restrictive, and voluntary alternative to inpatient psychiatric hospitalization. The CCS Mental Health Counselor's also:
Implements individual's treatment plan.
Assists with intake and orientation procedures with youth and their families or identified supports.
Ensures an environment that promotes safety, recovery and treatment.
Assists clients in routine living activities including cleaning, meal preparation, vacuuming, and grocery shopping.
Uses crisis intervention techniques when necessary. Access on-call back up when needed.
Performs other duities as assigned.

Job Summary:
UTEC's Mental Health Clinicians are responsible for the provision of counseling services to proven-risk young adults in UTEC's program, specifically those from the Haverhill, Lowell and Lawrence areas. The young men and women we serve have often experienced trauma, and many have diagnosed mental health issues and/or substance use issues. The Clinician will work as an integral part of our Mental Health team. Provide mental health assessments to each new young person.
Provide 1:1 and small group counseling services to the young people of UTEC in a variety of settings including on-site, at satellite sites, and in correctional facilities settings.
Provide crisis counseling/intervention for UTEC young adults and their families, as needed
Assist with outside referrals as needed.
Facilitate groups as needed.

About the Program
The Home's Child and Family Counseling Center (CFCC) is a licensed outpatient mental health clinic, providing treatment, therapy and prevention services to adults, children and their families who are facing emotional, behavioral, developmental or academic challenges.
Many of those who receive services have experienced toxic stresses. In addition to meeting with families at our clinic, The Home's CFCC clinicians are also embedded in over 50 schools.
How You Will Be Making a Difference
* Provide case management services; act as a liaison with collateral agencies and programs; establish and maintain relationship services that support client and family growth. Act as an advocate for families, support parents where appropriate to advocate for themselves and their children. Help families develop the skills needed to navigate the social service system.
* Utilize treatment modalities that are consistent with program goals and that best fit with clients' age and treatment needs, including play/expressive therapy, group therapy and family therapy.
* Perform initial assessment and evaluation of new clients and families. Identify treatment needs and barriers to growth and development. Design treatment plans that address and specify outcomes. Collaborate with clients and family members to develop treatment objectives. Demonstrate cultural awareness, humility, curiosity and sensitivity.

About the Program
At The Home, we believe strong families are the backbone of strong communities. Our Community Service Agencies (CSAs) provide individualized, family-driven coordination of care to meet the complex needs of children and families who are involved in child and family-serving systems and may be experiencing emotional, behavioral, safety or mental health difficulties.
Each of our CSAs now offer a Family-Based Intensive Treatment (FIT) service which provides short-term, flexible, hands-on support at home, helping families navigate tough times, strengthen connections and keep kids in their communities. The FIT service is designed for MassHealth youth under 21 with serious emotional challenges. It is delivered by a specialized team of clinicians, paraprofessionals, family partners and includes access to prescribers and behavioral therapists.
About the Role
Under the direction of the Senior Director, the FIT Senior Clinician oversees the delivery of Family-Based Intensive Treatment (FIT) services under CBHI, providing clinical supervision, guidance, and support to FIT clinicians and staff. This role ensures high-quality, evidence-based care for youth services to children under the age of 21 with a Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED), SUD, ASD, IDD and their families under the CBHI framework.
How You Will Be Making a Difference
* Complete review of FIT records in accordance with CBHI specifications
* Oversee FIT specific referrals and make assignments
* Monitor documentation compliance and service delivery outcomes
* Review and approve clinical assessments and treatment plans to ensure accuracy, quality, and alignment with CBHI and agency standards.
* Facilitate individual, dyad, and group supervision, weekly supervision, and regular staff meetings and training as required.
* Provide clinical supervision, coaching, and mentoring to FIT clinicians and staff
* Participate in staffing meetings, case consultations, and interdisciplinary team discussions
* Support with crisis intervention and stabilization efforts as needed
* Carry a caseload of 1-3 clients
* Facilitate daily "Wrap Rounds"
* Deliver intensive family therapy to youth and family in their home or chosen community-based setting
* Develop and implement treatment plans to meet the individual needs of the youth and family
* Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments inclusive of the CANS and CRAFFT
* Maintains timely and accurate documentation in the program's eHR per agency, MCE, and CBHI guidelines
* Maintains ongoing communication with families, collaborates with CBHI services, schools, and providers, and meets with assigned youth and families 3-5 times weekly to ensure coordinated care.
* Convenes monthly meetings with youth, family, providers, clinicians, and school representatives
* Provide crisis stabilization and safety planning for at-risk youth and families.

Driving Requirements
* Driving required or must have access to own mode of transportation
* If transporting clients, then a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record required
Education and Experience
* Master's degree in social work, mental health, or related discipline

Safe at Home is a team of therapists who work intensively with a child and his or her family in their home for a period of 3 weeks or 3 months.

Provide direct service in the Restoration Center Respite Program, designed to provide a staff-secure, safe, and structured recovery and treatment focused environment for adults who have behavioral health symptoms, mental health, substance use or co-occurring disorders, that require 24-hour per day support in an unlocked treatment setting in a community-based program that serves as a medically necessary, less-restrictive, and voluntary alternative to inpatient psychiatric hospitalization
Responsibilities
• Helps prepare person served transitioning to the community to engage in a recovery process and to communicate their strengths, hopes, dreams and goals to the team.
• Assists with the completion of functional and strengths-based assessments as needed.
• Implements individual's Community Support plan.
• Ensures an environment that promotes safety, recovery, and treatment.
• Participates in trainings; attend supervision meetings, staff meetings and Team meetings as requested.
• Assists clients in routine living activities including cleaning, meal preparation, vacuuming, and grocery shopping.
• Performs light meal prep and monitor dining area.
• Adheres to all company and divisional and program specific policies and procedures, including safe work practices, worker's compensation, universal precautions and exposure control. Complies with accreditation and licensing standards, as well as physical site licensing standards and regulations.
• Uses crisis intervention techniques when necessary. Accesses on-call back up when needed.
• Completes incident documentation as needed.
• Ensures maintenance and safety of physical site.
• Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications
Typical Requirements:
• One to two years of job-specific experience in the human services field preferred.
• Preference given to bi- lingual/bi-cultural applicants and applicants with lived experience of psychiatric conditions
Preferred /Required Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Driving Requirements:
Driving is a requirement for this position using either a Vinfen van or personal vehicle. - If using a personal vehicle, you must possess and maintain adequate insurance as well as maintain a safe driving record which is subject to annual checks. A valid driver's license must be presented at the time of employment. Incumbents must be at least 21 years of age, have maintained a valid US driver's license for at least one year, and must be able to pass a driver's screening background check.
Physical Effort:
Direct Care Roles - Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb as this is a very physically active position. Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques or the use of a two-person lift. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment such as a calculator, copier, and printer. Ability to sit, reach, climb stairs, and maneuver through narrow spaces or hallways. Ability to assist clients with tasks of daily living. Ability to speak, hear, and communicate with clients, staff, and external representatives. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. For positions in day programs or group residences, the ability to assist in routine living activities including cleaning, meal preparation, vacuuming, shoveling, and grocery shopping.
