THE OPPORTUNITY The Head of Marketing will drive both the global commercial product strategy and implementation for Vir Biotechnology's portfolio. Reporting directly to the SVP, Commercial, you will help develop and deliver Vir Biotechnology's commercial strategies and marketing plans for the company's lead Hepatitis program(s) in preparation for anticipated launches. In this highly collaborative role, you will sit on the Hepatitis Program team, lead the BCT (Business Commercial Team), and sit on multiple other cross-functional teams, representing commercial and/or Hepatitis leadership. You will partner with Program Executives/Teams, Medical Affairs, Legal, Manufacturing, Advocacy, Finance, CI, etc. to drive the planning and execution of strategies across Marketing, Patient Support, Market Access, Distribution, Advocacy/Health Policy, and Field Strategy. As an integral member of the Commercial team, you will inform commercial product strategy more broadly across Vir Biotechnology's portfolio. WHAT YOU'LL DO Lead the creation of the global brand plan and oversee the development and execution of the tactical plan in support of the overall brand strategy Oversee pre-launch positioning and key message planning as well as post-launch tactical planning and implementation for Vir's inline products Maintain and modify our commercial launch readiness playbook; bring creative thinking in go-to-market approaches Build integrated global strategic plans and budgets that meet market, regulatory, commercial and enterprise needs. Work with functional counterparts to achieve those plans and budgets Be a key stakeholder in the refinement of forecasts, commercial budgets, and P&L for collaborations/products/programs Develop and execute US launch campaigns, and global where applicable, including the development of a differentiating strategy, unique branding, compelling positioning and key messaging that maintain or extend our global market position Shape, maintain and update the brand profile and develop key marketing deliverables, including value proposition, messaging, positioning, differential advantages, brand book and, in coordination with strategic partners to maximize revenue potential while ensuring strategic alignment and meeting patient needs Conduct strategic marketing activities including market and competitive research and product positioning in close collaboration with cross commercial disciplines and partners as appropriate. Identify actionable insights based on market research and ensure that the product/brand addresses areas of unmet need. Ensure KPIs are relevant and informative for brand and patient objectives Participate in portfolio prioritization and life cycle planning activities for relevant clinical-stage programs WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU BRING 12+ years of relevant in-line commercial experience at an early-stage biotech and/or pharmaceutical company, preferably in both large and small companies, developing and executing launch strategies B.A./ B.S. and MBA and/or advanced degree required Substantial experience in product strategic planning, including developing differentiated brand positioning and messaging, as well as deep in-line experience, both pre-launch and post-launch Any of the following experiences would be a plus: rare disease, building new markets/new therapeutic area commercialization and/or market development/activation experience Working knowledge of current US payer environment and dynamics, including patient affordability programs Strong analytical skills, demonstrated by the ability to identify and interpret complex issues and provide appropriate recommendations to senior management and across functional areas, including key market planning insights based on epi data and market research Previous experience attracting, developing and retaining high caliber leaders and contributors that help build and shape the business to drive future success of the organization Strong developmental leader who leverages this skillset to create a high performing organization Ability to travel as required to meet business needs Must plan to be in-office 4 days per week #LI-225024411_AA1 #LI-Onsite WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE OFFER The expected salary range for this position is $235,500 to $329,500. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors. Assure requests to change, add or delete a WIC distribution site are made as needed. Coordinate community resources and breastfeeding support services for WIC participants. Review directives from the State WIC Branch with the management team. Interpret State policies and provide guidance as needed. Meet regularly with Clinic Managers to review procedures, discuss problems, agency goals, etc. Represent TrueCare WIC at State meetings, community events and to professional organizations. Contribute to the success of TrueCare clinical quality by participating in quality improvement and quality assurance activities. THE OPPORTUNITY Vir Biotechnology is seeking a seasoned Vice President of Drug Discovery with a specialization in immunology and immuno-oncology to join our dynamic team. Reporting directly to the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO), you will play a pivotal leadership role within our research department, serving as a core member of the CSO Leadership Team. In this role, you will provide critical scientific insight and direction for our drug discovery and immuno-oncology strategies across all of Vir's pipeline. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of scientists and operational experts, providing strategic direction, mentorship, and support to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Through exceptional leadership, you will drive the development of pioneering therapies to combat cancer, guiding the strategy and execution of drug discovery initiatives through all phases of development. In this role, you will collaborate with a wide range of internal teams and external partners to lead the innovation and advancement of novel cancer immunotherapies. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Leadership: Lead a group of scientists focused on immuno-oncology, offering strategic direction and mentorship to ensure the success of our research initiatives. Inspire and motivate team members to achieve their full potential, providing coaching, and opportunities for growth and development. * Program Oversight: Oversee the oncology drug discovery pipeline, from early-stage research through preclinical development, ensuring scientific and operational excellence. Play a pivotal leadership role as a standing member of our Research Portfolio Committee to ensure successful progression of our pipeline. * Strategy: Utilize your extensive experience and expertise in immunology to create overarching strategies for cancer immunotherapies, supporting the preclinical and clinical development of products, ensuring alignment with corporate goals. * Stakeholder and Risk Management: Oversee and manage teams who partner with external collaborations such as academic institutions, contract research organizations, and other partners to discover targets and molecules for advancement. Provide updates to senior leadership on status of program activities/strategies, identify potential risks and challenges related to program activities, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful execution of preclinical programs. * Scientific expertise/innovation: Stay abreast of the latest developments in immune-oncology and drug development, incorporating relevant insights into program strategies. * Budgeting: Ensure financial resources are effectively allocated and managed to support achievement of the priority objectives for translational biology group. WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU BRING * Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in a relevant scientific discipline (immunology and immuno-oncology background strongly preferred) with 15+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry, with a focus on immune-therapies for oncology. * Subject matter expert in cancer immunology with a significant publication record in the field. * Thorough knowledge and expertise in preclinical drug discovery of large molecules and understanding of the oncology landscape. * History of building relationships and promoting engagement across all partners, including the senior management, scientific and clinical advisory boards, academic and biopharma partners, and CROs. * Sound business acumen with a pragmatic, results-oriented leadership style that can translate innovation, creative strategies, and conceptual thinking into plans. * Prior experience leading large teams and management skills to inspire and develop individuals. * Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to generate scientific reports and presentations. * Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. #LI-225024411_AA1 #LI-Onsite WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE OFFER The expected salary range for this position is $290,000 to $340,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
