Chief Purpose of this position: The Cardiology Heart failure scholars program is to allow for inpatient inhouse coverage on the Cardiology units at night 12 hours per day 7 days per week. The Cardiology Hospitalist service traditionally has been a 2 person team of internists who support the Cardiology inpatient teams in the care of patients with multiple medical problems and to support the expansion of CV services. The Heart Failure Scholars will be part of this rotation covering 1 week each in a 4 week rotation. In the remaining time, the scholar will rotate through efforts focused on clinical exposure to cardiology, heart failure, quality improvement and research.
Teaching: To support teaching directly via interactions with Housestaff and non-physician professionals.
Research: To support clinical research protocols in recruitment and adjunctive clinical management and to engage in scholarly activity.
Learner: Participate in learning activity on inpatient consult services and ambulatory settings focused on exposure to clinical heart failure
Clinical: Anticipated clinical effort is 25%. The workload and time commitments are commensurate with the medical hospitalists - nocturnists; duty hours will be 7 shifts per 4-week period of time. Duties: to directly manage patients on the inpatient and observational Cardiology services 12 hours overnight in a collaborative manner with the Cardiology faculty and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). To provide Emergency Department consultations regarding Cardiology Admissions. To work collaboratively with Cardiology Attendings, Fellows, Residents and APPs to assure a unified Cardiology plan is developed for each patient.
Other (for instance administrative duties, etc.): Submit billing and document care as required by the organization. Abide by all medical staff requirements. Participate in quality initiatives.

Purpose of this position: The department of Pediatrics is seeking a Board eligible or certified pediatric nephrologist for a PRN position to the current clinical staff on a semi-regular basis during a transition time with significantly reduced staffing. This position is open to long-term contracting pending initial experiences with and desires of the faculty member. Requested commitment is 2 half-day clinics a month to be determined 2-3 months in advance. Occasional weekend call (Friday night to Sunday night) may also be set up depending on needs of the division and faculty member availability.
Responsibilities:
* Teaching: the faculty member is expected to engage in real-time teaching with rotators to the division including medical students, residents, APP students, and occasionally high school or college students.
* Research: No research is expected of the faculty member however they will refer patients to any active research studies for the division at the time.
* Service: No inpatient clinical service is expected however the faculty member would preferably be open to occasional weekend coverage mutually agreed upon ahead of time. No service to the university is expected for this prn position.
* Clinical: The staff member should be well-versed in general pediatric nephrology including but not limited to nephritis / nephrotic patients, CAKUT, pediatric hypertension, chronic kidney disease management, care of stable kidney transplant patients, and others. They can expect to see 8 to 12 patients in a half-day clinic as the schedule can fluctuate significantly.
