Duties & Responsibilities:
Teaching
The faculty member shares a deep commitment to effective instruction, creation of innovative courses and mentoring of students in research, outreach and professional development. They demonstrate leadership in developing techniques designed to meet the needs of differing learning styles and intellectual interests, especially in the context of interdisciplinary research interests that complement the program. The faculty member will contribute to the teaching mission and will be engaged in training of students and faculty and will deliver lectures, contribute to course development and implementation in the identified department. In addition, the faculty member will mentor capstone projects of master-level students and supervise dissertation research.
Research
Contribute to VCU's national reputation through research and scholarship (extramural funding, high quality publications, citations, and national recognition through honorific awards and committee leadership) and maintain active involvement in appropriate national or international organizations and bodies. Publish in peer-reviewed journals and submit grant applications for extramural funding in the field of translational oncology, immuno-oncology, and/or drug discovery including medicinal chemistry and structural biology. It is expected that the faculty member will establish and maintain a vigorous, extramurally funded research laboratory.
The faculty member is expected to direct the research lab and comply with all regulatory requirements. They supervise laboratory personnel, write and submit multiple grant applications during the course of the academic year; write and publish multiple manuscripts during the course of an academic year. They serve as a PI on peer-reviewed grants and are responsible for complying with all institution and sponsors terms and conditions for grant funding.
The member will participate in Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center Core Grant application preparation as needed, this includes providing updates on active research, grants and publications. They participate and engage with other members of the Massey Cancer Center in cancer center activities and in collaborative research projects.
Service
Faculty members will serve on Departmental, College, and/or University committees as necessary, as well as in a professional capacity in their field (e.g., reviewer, conference organizer, etc.)

The SVCDC is an interdisciplinary clinic that has been providing services to children and families from birth to 21 years of age for more than 40 years. The clinic addresses concerns regarding education, behavior, health, emotions, development, and the parent-child relationship. We serve a broad range of clients that include foster children and high-risk families. Position Responsibilities:
Dr. Paige Cervantes and the CARE lab in the Child and Adolescent Division of VCU's Department of Psychiatry are seeking a part-time researchassistant. The CARE lab aims to improve community mental health services for autistic children and adolescents through research.
This researchassistant position will primarily involve data management and analysis as well as dissemination of findings through manuscript preparation and community and academic conference presentations. Opportunities to contribute to data collection and project management may also be available.
Current projects are focused on identifying barriers and facilitators to the implementation of best practice mental health care for autistic youth as well as on understanding and adapting mental health assessment measures to improve the detection and monitoring of psychiatric symptoms in autistic children and adolescents.

Our foci are genetic epidemiology, molecular genetics/genomics, and the development of statistical methods and software to analyze genetic data. We aim to understand the interplay of genetic, environmental and developmental factors in behavioral and mental health, to address public health issues, to educate the next generation of researchers, and to share findings with the scientific community via publications and conference presentations.
Chief Purpose of this position:
The Department of Psychiatry is seeking candidates for two T&R Faculty positions, at Virginia Institute for Psychiatric and Behavioral Genetics' (VIPBG). The Faculty member will be responsible for obtaining grants to support their research, collaborating with other faculty, and growing their research program at the university including publications, teaching and service to the scientific community.

This is a completely on-site position associated with supported research at Das Lab, in conjunction with Fisher Lab. We are a new neuroscience lab using cutting-edge approaches to investigate the neurobiological mechanisms underlying memory and substance use disorders.
The Research Technician will support experimental work within the substance use disorder research focus of the lab. Responsibilities include assisting with the establishment of lab infrastructure, managing day-to-day operations, maintaining and ordering supplies and equipment, and supporting behavioral experiments related to substance use disorder research.
