Job Description Virginia Family Dentistry is looking for an experienced dental professional to join our team as a Clinical Trainer/Infection Prevention & Control Coordinator. Must have at least 3 years of clinical dental experience. Compensation is based on experience. Work hours are 8 am-5 pm Monday-Friday. The Clinical Trainer/Infection Prevention & Control Coordinator trains employees on clinical skills and protocols to ensure Company policy is being implemented and followed at all clinical offices. This role is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating clinical training programs for all clinical staff positions. The trainer ensures all clinical personnel are proficient in current dental procedures, infection control protocols, and patient care standards. Essential Job Functions Develop and deliver hands-on training sessions on dental procedures, cleaning and disinfection of environmental surfaces in dental healthcare settings, sterilization, and equipment uses. Observe and assess clinical staff performance, provide feedback and coaching to improve technique and compliance, and monitor adherence to infection control and safety protocols. Manage and oversee infection prevention and safety program, ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations supporting a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors. Create and maintain training materials, manuals, and competency checklists; as well as review and update regularly. Responsible for the Hazard Communication Program and ensuring all program elements are carried out. Conduct in-office OSHA checks and report discrepancies in office protocol to office managers. Maintain new employee training tracking system to document training completed and employee progress, and communicate progress with Office Managers and Human Resources. Perform quarterly water testing for all office locations, manage official records of tests and analyze data to determine and schedule necessary maintenance to ensure safety compliance. Enforce the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by employees. Responsible for ongoing training and support related to Bloodborne pathogens, needlestick prevention, infection control/sterilization, and addressing infection control concerns promptly and professionally. Ensure training programs align with ADA, VDA, OSHA, and CDC. Front desk team members perform routine clerical and administrative work such as answering telephones, greeting patients, updating patient information, inquiries, scheduling appointments, and record-keeping. The scheduler is responsible for maintaining an efficient and productive schedule. Essential Job Functions · Review schedules daily to fill any open appointment times. Virginia Family Dentistry is looking for an experienced Orthodontic Assistant to join our team! Please note: This position works at both our Ironbridge and Mechanicsville locations. Typical work hours are 8 am- 5 pm Monday-Thursday and 8 am-1pm Friday. Pay range is $17-$25/hour based on experience. The Orthodontic Assistant completes various clinical and administrative tasks, as well as educating patients about their treatment and oral hygiene. This includes preparing patients for treatment, taking x-rays and impressions, and changing orthodontic devices like wires and brackets. Must be willing to work in and be part of the larger team and communicate effectively with doctors, employees, and patients. Essential Job Functions Chair side assist the doctor by passing instruments, aspirating intra-oral fluids, mixing materials and medicaments during examinations, treatment, or procedures. Place, change and remove elastic orthodontic separators, arch wires, brackets and ligature ties. Take intra-oral measurements for orthodontic procedures. Perform temporary cementation and removal of temporary crowns and orthodontic bands. Remove cement excess from supragingival surfaces of teeth. Check for loose orthodontic brackets and bands. Adjust clear aligners and retainers and arranges for repairs when necessary. Deliver aligners, attachments, and adjusted retainers and braces via indirect bonding techniques Take scans for diagnostic and working models. Remove all instruments and tools after use and processes them for sterilization, keeping sterilization are clean and orderly. Take x-rays and impressions of patients' teeth. Fabricate Essix retainers. Prepare and take patient molds. Assist in preparing trays and set up and clean up for all procedures. Assist or perform administrative duties when needed. Review the doctor's schedule daily, set up and prepare for patient appointments with needed supplies, lab cases, implants and other necessary items, assist doctor with procedures, help with x-rays, clean room between patients, and ensure room is stocked. Keep the schedule on time and communicate with the front desk if running behind. Bring each patient to the front desk with completed route slip and treatment plan. Maintain a lab tracking system and make sure all lab work is ready for the patients' appointment. Ensure instrument sterilization and proper infection control protocol. Help other team members by: Working with the doctor scheduler on schedules and maintaining the unscheduled list by following up with the patients and needed treatment. Tracking doctor's outstanding lab cases. Ordering and unpacking supplies.
