Title MedicalAssistant/Receptionist, Outpatient Clinic The VHC Health Outpatient Clinic provides quality, comprehensive healthcare to low-income Arlington residents ages 18 and older who are uninsured or underinsured, including a highly diverse immigrant population representing more than 85 countries. Purpose & Scope:
The MedicalAssistant/ Receptionist ensures the clinical environment is cleaned, stocked, and ready for patient care. Prepares specimens for transport to labs, performs simple laboratory procedures, takes vital signs, prepares patients for procedures, and assists with patient flow. Provides general clinical support to staff, answers phones, makes appointments and adds information to the medical record.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Experience:
One year of experience in medical terminology is preferred.
One year of experience in data entry is required.
One year of experience in a healthcare/medical - primary care/office is preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
BLS certification required.

The Scheduling Specialist is responsible for managing patient referrals and visit schedules. Assigns patient assessments and other visits as ordered by the physician using an online scheduling system. Collaborates with the Team Leader to identify clinicians with the appropriate experience and skill set to match patient needs.
Responsibilities
* Utilizes EMR and scheduling tools to efficiently schedule all visits with field staff taking into account business needs, patients' needs and employee needs
* Processes workflow for requested scheduled, missed, rescheduled, reassigned, declined, and delivered visits.
* Monitors Pending Referrals daily and assigns licensed professional (LP) and patient care manager for all SOC visits.
* Communicates daily with field staff regarding any visits unaddressed in late, pending, or incomplete status for resolution as appropriate.
* Runs Scheduling Request Report daily, completes requests as appropriate for Medicare week. Monitors productivity and distribution of regular visits for caregiver optimization, communicates with team leader as appropriate.
* Reviews Unverified Visit report daily. Communicates directly with field staff, patient care manager, clinical director as needed.
* Monitors action screen and processes all assigned tasks, coordination notes, admin tasks in a timely manner.
* Assists in coordination of scheduling and tracking all supervisory visits and therapy reassessment visits, as required per regulatory requirements.
* Attends and participates in annual in-service programs, workshops, continuing educational programs, seminars, etc.
* Communicates professionally with all employees and external contacts (physicians, referral sources, etc.
* All other duties as assigned.

* Minimum one year of scheduling experience in health care setting using an online scheduling system is preferred.
Skill Requirements
* Exceptional organizational, customer service, communication, and decision making skills required.
* Working knowledge of state and federal regulations governing OASIS visits, supervisory, and reassessment visits
