Virginia Intermont College (VI) is an independent, private liberal arts college founded in 1884. Located in Bristol, Va., the College has a total enrollment of close to 600 students representing 30 states and six countries. VI offers Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Social Work degrees in more than 40 programs of study, including nationally acclaimed majors in Equine Studies and Photography & Digital Imaging. Teacher certification and pre-professional studies are also available, as well as an Honors Program and Evening and Weekend College for non-traditional students. With a student faculty ratio of 12:1, an exceptional one-on-one learning environment allows each student to follow his or her own path to success. VI is a member of NAIA Varsity Intercollegiate Sports with ten intercollegiate athletic teams including equestrian teams that have won 15 national championships. The residential campus and nearby 120-acre riding center provide the perfect blend of natural beauty and cultural activity. Located directly on the Tennessee-Virginia state line, Bristol has a distinctive heritage as a music and cultural venue and offers outdoor recreation in the Blue Ridge Mountains and nearby Appalachian Trail. The College is less than two hours from Roanoke, Va., Knoxville, Tenn., and Asheville, N.C.
