    **Job Summary and Responsibilities** Virginia Mason Hospital & Clinics is seeking a dedicated Clinical Social Worker to provide psychosocial assessment and evidence-based psychotherapy to adults in our Orthopedic Clinic, primarily focusing on patients being seen for surgical needs. This role works as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Key Responsibilities: + Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop culturally sensitive treatment plans. + Assist patients in addressing barriers to obtaining medical care as well as developing discharge plans with patient seeking surgical care. + Support high-risk populations, including trauma survivors, homeless, prenatal, and domestic violence victims, utilizing harm reduction principles for addictions. + Document clinical and billing information accurately and timely. + Potentially supervise graduate students, including case assignment, weekly supervision, and performance evaluations. + Collaborate with medical providers, attend team meetings, and engage in community outreach. + Maintain timely billing, partake in ongoing consultation, and pursue continuing education. + Deliver crisis intervention, case management, and mandated reporting. We deliver inspired people to do meaningful work. **Job Requirements** Master's in Social Work from a graduate program accredited by the Council on Social Worker Education of Doctorate in Social Work required. Must also have an active Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) license in the state of Washington and have completed four hours training in HIV/AIDS. Familiarity with EPIC/Cerner or other electronic charting system required along with exceptional communication and listening skills. Prefer at least 3 years experience in a clinical setting, certification as a Chemical Dependency Professional, and/or previous experience in an acute medical or mental healthcare in an inpatient or outpatient setting. Communicates effectively and openly with other Interdisciplinary Team members on participant status and needs. Provides supportive counseling to Participants and/or their family members, as indicated. May develop and lead group counseling, support groups, and/or other relevant activities. Refers Participants and families to appropriate community agencies or facilities, acts as a liaison with such organizations, and as an advocate for participants.
