Position Summary The Metrologist supports AMT's Quality Department by ensuring the accuracy and reliability of measurement systems used in inspection and verification. This includes developing and validating measurement programs, conducting inspections of incoming materials, work-in-process, and final shipments, and ensuring compliance with AS9100 standards and customer requirements. The Metrologist also supports continuous improvement in metrology practices and contributes to the advancement of AMT's measurement capabilities. Duties & Responsibilities Develop, validate, and debug measurement programs for CMM and other automated inspection equipment. Create and maintain supporting documentation for inspection processes. Perform 1st piece, in-process, and final inspections using CMMs as well as conventional metrology tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, comparators, etc.). Support and improve measurement systems and metrology practices across the organization. Recommend and implement best practices for inspection and measurement. Design or specify work-holding and fixturing for accurate part inspection. Troubleshoot and resolve metrology- or measurement-related issues. Train quality and manufacturing personnel on inspection techniques, including CMM operation. Complete customer PPAP requirements, including control plans and inspection reports.
