About the Opportunity This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [FEU]. The estimated pay range for this role is $20.00-$30.00/hour. Our Power Delivery and Construction & Design Services groups are growing segments of our company. We are looking for individuals interested in a career as an engineer in these areas. Based on your Engineering discipline, as well as the department and projects you are assigned to, selected candidates may: Support FirstEnergy engineers in developing or maintaining engineering programs, including revising and developing procedures, completing analytics, updating applications, performing field walk downs, and verifying inputs to the engineering programs Assist FirstEnergy engineers in performing engineering studies, analysis, and/or design in support of transmission engineering planning, protection, design, operations, and/or maintenance of the transmission system. PAID INTERNSHIP: $23.00/Hour APPLY BY: 2/11/26 Target 11-week Internship Dates: 5/18/26 - 7/30/26 (4-10 work schedule M-Th 6:30am - 5:00pm) Some flexibility with scheduled hours. May have the opportunity for one day a week remote work (conditions apply). The purpose of this internship is for an individual to participate in Engineering Services, Electrical and Control System Engineering Division's responsibilities. You will help identify solutions to technical multi-disciplinary engineering problems that require the use of independent judgment and initiative in making technical decisions of considerable difficulty and impact. In addition, the internship will provide opportunities to develop engineering designs and/or specifications and utilize PLC/SCADA programming software to support CAP Asset Modification process. * Participate with other Electrical and Controls System Engineers in executing construction and design work. * Become familiar with how design work is performed from an equipment owner's perspective. * Participate in programming of PLC/SCADA systems. * Help review and approve project as-built phase in project closeout. * Become familiar with and apply field construction safety standards. At end of the 11-week engagement, the intern will prepare and deliver a presentation which includes: * A summary of the work completed * What they learned * An evaluation of the intern experience at CAP * Recommendations for future interns * Junior or higher-level student (or recent grad) working toward a degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
