The Health Center Assistant is responsible for helping carry out a program of health and safety in accordance with camp philosophy, objectives and related health policies and procedures. The Health Center Assistant will work under the supervision of the Head Nurse, Summer Camp Director, and Camp Nurse. They will work with the camp nurses/medical staff to provide support when health center is at its busiest and assisting the Camp Nurse with coverage of the Health Center between 2-4 pm daily. The Health Center Assistant will help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the Health Center, including assisting with record keeping of the medical center. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS FOR ALL CAMP CHIEF OURAY STAFF:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS FOR HEALTH CENTER ASSISTANT:
* Training
* Participate in admin and staff training prior to working with campers.
* Assist with the coordination and implementation of curriculum for staff training. Evaluate trainings after delivery.
* Assist with staff training, including but not limited to: discussing health and safety procedures, health screening procedures, general camper wellness and prevention, medication administration training, and first aid and emergency health procedures.
* Assist in more extensive training of Wilderness Program leaders in appropriate first aid and emergency care techniques.

* Become familiar with total camp program.
* Prepare, clean and maintain the Health Center on a daily basis during the summer.
* Maintain and safeguard the Health Center inventory; maintain adequate amounts of first aid equipment and supplies on hand at all time.
* Establish designated open hours for basic first aid in consultation with the Summer Camp Director; live on-site and be available 24 hours a day while on duty for emergencies.
* Guide staff with regard to their responsibilities in reporting illness, injury or unsafe practices or conditions that might contribute to camper or staff accidents; guide staff in making certain that campers received their medication if applicable.
* Prepare and maintain first aid kits for emergency use for all program areas, counselors, camp vehicles, Leadership Training Program staff, and Wilderness Adventure staff.
* Supervise and/or perform the physical check of each camper upon their arrival in camp; review and maintain all health records, discussing particular items with any staff concerned.
* Be responsible for the safe storage and administration of any drugs, medicines and first aid kits brought to camp by campers and staff and use as directed by the campers/staffs physician according to the current prescription or camp physicians orders.
* Be available for and administer medications and assist in treatment of injuries and illnesses. Be responsible for logging all treatments and medications into CampMinder.
* Schedule appointments and prepare appropriate paperwork for visits to the doctors office or emergency facility.
* With Camp Nurse contact parents/guardians within a reasonable time period if their camper is seen by a doctor or spent more than two hours in the Health Center or if the Summer Camp Director determines communication is necessary.
* Assist in additional health screening for every camper going away from main camp on a trip the morning of their trip departure and before supper on the day of their return (check for foot problems, high altitude sickness, general readiness for the trip, etc.)
* Assist maintenance and food service staff in checking and maintaining proper sanitation and cleanliness throughout the camp.
* Gain working knowledge of CampMinder software.
* Participate and help organize Evening Programs as needed.

* Meet daily with Summer Camp Director and Nurse to discuss and evaluate health center operations
* Meet twice weekly with other camp administrators to evaluate program.
* Work with the Health Care Administrator and other Health Center Coordinators to assure good communication as Health Center responsibilities are transferred week to week.
* Reports/Evaluations
* By Dinner on Monday of each session, make certain that cabin health screenings have been returned to the Health Center and counselors know which of their campers are taking medications. Discuss any unusual circumstances/situations with the counselor, trip or leadership staff.
* Report all sick kids to the Summer Camp Director in a timely manner.
* Maintain an accurate Camp Health Log.
* Report all Workers Compensation claims to the Camp Director and complete appropriate paperwork as required by YMCA of the Rockies/Camp Chief Ouray policies.
* Complete appropriate reports as required by the YMCA of the Rockies Safety Program and policies as follows:
* Incident Report used to report all general occurrences such as injuries/illnesses/ambulance calls/theft/harassment/fire
* Hazard Identification Report to report safety hazards
* Motor Vehicle Accident to record accidents involving vehicles on SMR property; or involving SMR/CCO vehicles
* Turn in the weekly incident reports, to the head SMR safety officer.
* Compile an end of the season report including: equipment inventory, suggested purchases, facility needs, daily to do list, and a summary of trends with suggestions for avoiding same problems in the future.
* Write a report and evaluation of program (End of Season Report) and summer including programs, leadership, site and facilities and recommendations for the future.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
* Minimum of 21 years of age preferred
* Experience in the medical field preferred, including schooling for registered nurse or practical nurse license
* Ability to prioritize tasks and efficiently manage time.
* Must have current certification in CPR/First Aid or be willing to obtain certification.
* Willingness to comply with YMCA and Colorado Department of Transportation rules to be approved to operate YMCA vehicles
* Must have a valid US Driver's license or, if required, a Commercial Driver's License.
* Must have a satisfactory driving safety record (Verified by MVR Review)
* Drivers must complete a YMCA driver training program.

* Responsible for supervision of self-administered medication for the Assisted Living Department in compliance with Federal & State regulations and Senior Lifestyle Corporation guidelines as directed by the LPN/LVN/RN and/or the Assisted Living Director/Health and Wellness Director.
* Count and sign on approved form, all narcotics with approved personnel before accepting medication keys. Contact a supervisor immediately with discrepancies.
* Order all necessary medication and treatments from appropriate pharmacy or notify responsible party when supply is no less than 7 days.
* Notify supervisor when supply is less than 2 days and medicine hasn't been received.
* Responsible for receiving and verifying all medicine received is accurate according to pharmacy label and MAR. Notifies pharmacy and DH&W of any discrepancies.
* Responsible for proper storage of all medications and ensuring all lotions, ointments and liquids stored separately from oral medications.
* Responsible for dating all appropriate vials or bottles at time of initial opening and following pharmacy protocol on length of time they can be used.
* Responsible for weekly inspections of all medications to ensure all expired medications are removed.
* Responsible for verifying all current MARs are compared to new MARs at change over time and notifying the supervisor of any discrepancies.
* Responsible for removing all discontinued medication from med cart and giving it to the supervisor.

* Count and sign on approved form, all narcotics with approved personnel before accepting medication keys. Contact a supervisor immediately with discrepancies.
* Order all necessary medication and treatments from appropriate pharmacy or notify responsible party when supply is no less than 7 days.
* Notify supervisor when supply is less than 2 days and medicine hasn't been received.
* Responsible for receiving and verifying all medicine received is accurate according to pharmacy label and MAR. Notifies pharmacy and DH&W of any discrepancies.
* Responsible for proper storage of all medications and ensuring all lotions, ointments and liquids stored separately from oral medications.
* Responsible for dating all appropriate vials or bottles at time of initial opening and following pharmacy protocol on length of time they can be used.
* Responsible for weekly inspections of all medications to ensure all expired medications are removed.
* Responsible for verifying all current MARs are compared to new MARs at change over time and notifying the supervisor of any discrepancies.

General Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain a physical presence on the floor of the lounge and locker areas while members are present.
Maintain workroom, locker room, and lounge areas in immaculate condition.
Clean locker room areas including sinks, countertops, floors, stalls, showers, and lockers.
Provide shoe services in alignment with the Club's established requirements.
Restock workroom, lounge area, and locker rooms, as directed, with the required supplies maintaining a visual appeal.
Prepare daily buffets including snack presentation, coffee and tea service, iced tea and lemonade service, Member amenities, and newspaper selection.
Prepare and stock bar with beverages, ice, glassware and maintain order throughout the day.
Prepare bar beverages in accordance with Club standards.
Greet, seat, order, deliver, and service food and beverage for Members using a POS computerized ordering system.
Prepare and stock food and beverage service equipment.
Vacuum, sweep, mop, and clean floors in the lounge, locker room, and terrace.
Assist with tournament and special event setup, service, and breakdown as directed.
Spring cleaning and opening requirements.
End of season cleaning and closing requirements.
Inventory and supply control.
Trash removal.
Completes other tasks/duties as assigned.
Requirements
Previous Food & Beverage service experience.
Must have extensive guest satisfaction service experience.
Must have an "on the spot" problem solving attitude.
Proficiency in use of food service, bar, and shoeshine equipment.

TerraBella Senior Living is looking for a Care/Medication Technician to join our Cameron Hall community in Canton, GA.
The Care Giver/Med Tech role includes providing hands-on care, physical and emotional support to each resident while maintaining a safe and comfortable home-like environment.
Responsibilities:
Care Giver:
Responsible for a designated group of residents during the shift; knows where their residents are and physically checks on them throughout the shift.
Observes, reports and documents symptoms and conditions of residents for changes in condition such as skin, behavior, alertness, weight, dietary and participation in activities.
Responds to security system and resident call bells promptly.
Notifies supervisor and/or Health Care Coordinator if a resident has increased care needs.
Assists with continence management and disposes of all continence products properly to ensure sanitation of resident suite and community restrooms.
Serves and collects food trays and assists as needed; reports refusal of meals or loss of appetite.
Maintains cleanliness of resident's room and work areas.
Practices good standard care precautions of cleanliness, hygiene and health.
Helps residents maintain independence, promotes dignity and physical safety of each resident.
Actively participates/leads and assists residents with activities of daily living (i.e. bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, ambulation, transferring, eating) as instructed.
Engages residents in life skills and other life enrichment activities.
Greets and assists all internal and external customers, guests, family members, residents, vendors and team members.
Does resident laundry as assigned and needed.
Medication Tech duties:
Reviews service plan to learn pertinent information about residents.
Assists/observes medications and treatments for each resident using the medication observation record and the Six Rights of Medication Pass.
Documents and initials form as medications are given including appropriate documentation for refusal or missed doses.
Maintains confidentiality of all resident information including resident medication.
Reports all resident concerns made while assisting resident with the medication to the Nurse and/or Health Care Coordinator (HCC).
Restocks medication cart after all medication passes.
Assists in checking medication regardless of packaging system.
Counts all narcotics with another Medication Care Manager or Nurse each shift.
Maintains and cleans the Medication Room, med charts, treatment carts for neatness cleanliness, availability of medications and expired medications.
Follows re-fill process for medications.
Participates in the development of the Service Plan and monthly updates.
Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse and respiration rates.
Reports occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, sharp sticks and hazardous chemicals immediately.
Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications:
Certified Nurse's Aid certification preferred.
High School diploma/GED
Must be 18 years of age.
CPR Certification preferred
First Aid Certification preferred
Previous experience working with seniors preferred.

Properly store and dispose of medications.
Provides routine care to the patient, i.e. bathing, grooming, dressing, as needed
Complete dressing changes of skin alterations as established in the clinical guidelines and per physician orders. Report changes to the licensed nurse as needed.
