He has 22 years of healthcare experience, with a focus on the delivery of value-based care in various medical group settings. Prior to joining Envision, Rechtin served as President of OptumCare, part of UnitedHealth Group. Before that, he was with DaVita Medical Group, which he joined in 2014, and played the dual roles of Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy with responsibility for marketing, communications and business development and President of DaVita Medical Group’s California market. Previously, Rechtin was a Partner at Bain & Company where he spent 14 years in the company’s healthcare practice. At Bain, Jim advised large health systems, physician groups and health insurers on a variety of business planning and operational initiatives, including market strategies, joint ventures and operational structure, strategic partnership formation, physician recruitment, clinical integration and population health management. Early in his career, Rechtin ran operations for a nonprofit health and human services clinic in Indianapolis, Indiana, and served in the United States Peace Corps in the Congo. He received a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts from DePauw University. Rechtin is a board member at the Center for Health Care Strategies, Colorado Succeeds and the DePauw Board of Visitors.
