These positions are assigned teaching effort only. Clinical Instructors work collaboratively with the Associate Deans for Graduate & Undergraduate Education, and BSN, MSN, & DNP Program Directors and Coordinators to create a development plan that is tailored to their and the School's needs and goals related to teaching. Our Clinical Instructors make important contributions to innovative educational and teaching activities to maintain and enhance Emory's reputation for academic excellence. Contracts for Clinical Instructors are for a semester and renewal is based on a performance evaluation at the end of the contract. Preferential appointments are made for those with or pursuing a terminal degree, and those with teaching experience. **Responsibilities:** + Provide instruction, supervision, and evaluation of student's performance in various clinical, lab, and simulation settings; + Deliver education in collaboration with the Course Coordinator based on approved Course Syllabi, Course Objectives, Course Outlines, and Course Assignments; + Supervise and evaluate groups of students in lab and simulation settings; + Maintain ongoing communication with the Course Coordinator and attend all course team meetings; + Complete the NHWSN orientation and comply with any mandatory requirements; + Maintain a collaborative, positive relationship with clinical agency staff; + Schedule and meet with students on regular basis to provide academic feedback; + Maintain student records. **Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:** + A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited institution. + Current, active certification in the specialty area relevant to the assigned course. + Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing (if applicable to the role). + Demonstrated clinical expertise and experience in the specialty area. Tenure-track faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Nursing conduct research, teach courses, mentor students, and contribute to school, university, community, and professional activities through academic citizenship, service, and leadership. RESEARCH RESPONSIBILITIES The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a collaborative, innovative, robust, and highly visible research program that entails conceptualizing, designing, and conducting research studies; managing research staff; following all research compliance policies; disseminating research results; and seeking extramural funding.
