We are currently searching for an experienced Right of Way Agent to support our Midwest Region located in Dayton, OH.
To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, two years real estate and/or engineering experience.
The Right of Way (ROW) Agent acquires land, easements, and other rights for our DOT and municipal clients.
What you'll be doing:
Responsible for claim settlement where client's activities incur damage to property
Prepares document necessary to negotiate and option the proposed ROW
Is knowledgeable in title reports, appraisals, and basic ROW/roadway plans
You will meet with property owners to make offers, prepare and document paperwork and activities, and report to supervisor regularly
Relo agent will also be required to make relocation offers
What you need to have:
A minimum of one year real estate and/or engineering experience
At least one of the following ODOT prequalifications: Titles, appraisals, negotiation, closings, relocation
Strong communications and social skills
Work from home is an option but will have access to the Volkert office and supplies
Experience with Microsoft Office, email, and general computer knowledge
Ability to travel to OH to meet with property owners

We are currently searching for a motivated Survey Crew Chief to support our Midwest Region in Dayton, OH.
To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.
The Survey Crew Chief position reports to the Survey Operations Manager. This position will require occasional overnight travel and working outside in all weather conditions. Applicant must be able to pass a drug and background test to obtain security badge clearance.
What you'll be doing:
Supervises a crew which conducts field surveys as defined by the project manager
Accomplishes majority of survey tasks with limited interaction with supervisors and/or Land Surveyors
Communicates effectively with, and meets the needs of the client representative, governing agent and public representatives involved in each project; keeps the client field representative informed as to progress and problems and notifies when job is complete
Communicates effectively with project manager as to project progress, problems, client change requests and job completion
What you need to have:
5+ years of experience working on a survey crew with ability to lead crew
Strong written and oral communication skills
Proficiency in construction staking, boundary surveys, and topographic surveys
Ability to travel as needed
Ability to demonstrate organizational skills, including attention to detail

Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities
* Resource Management: Plan and supervise Assistant Superintendent (on larger projects) and/or craft activities such as, determining method of construction, workforce levels, material quantities equipment, temporary power sources, work schedule and documenting actual hours worked. Maintain liaison with other departments such as Material Control, Purchasing, Quality Control, and Engineering to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, support craft activities and project schedule.
* Project Planning and Strategy: Coordinate assigned work with the work of different crafts, company departments, or other contractors.
* Risk Management: Assist the Labor Relations Department in maintaining communications with unions, resolving jurisdictional disputes, requisitioning required workforce, and as necessary the labor approach for the projects assigned. Monitor craft compliance with project safety program requirements; document and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
* Team Leadership: Maintain liaison with engineering, estimating, and planning to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule. Experience assisting in resolving construction problems such as lack of productivity and work interfaces is required.
Overall, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of projects that drive significant growth and innovation within the organization and serve our client's needs.
Qualifications
To qualify for the role, you must have
* Minimum of 8 years supervisory experience in similar facility construction technology, methods, equipment, tools, and work procedures required.
* Strong Electrical background in Data Centers' experience is preferred.
* Titles by discipline may include, Construction Superintendent (for civil work), Structural Superintendent, Mechanical Superintendent, or Electrical Superintendent.
* Advanced understanding of construction scheduling, cost control and demonstrated ability to control and supervise large groups.
* Prior experience with Commercial or Industrial project scopes of at least $15M value.
* A valid driver's license in the US and a valid passport required; willingness and ability to travel; travel is estimated at 70+%.

* Strong history of leading, motivating and mentoring cross-functional teams.

The
Aviation Engineering Intern
will collaborate with and be mentored by airfield engineers. The selected candidate may assist in the design and construction of runways, taxiways, terminals, Federal Aviation Administration Navigation Aids (FAA NAVAIDs), airport lighting systems, and a variety of airport support facilities. The selected candidate will work on a wide range of airport projects that combine innovative airside and landside design with a strong knowledge of technical standards to exceed client expectations and provide cost-effective solutions. Additionally, the successful applicant will gain experience in long-term airport planning, detailed engineering design, and construction administration. Engineering design elements may include grading, drainage, pavement geometry, and construction phasing. This will serve as a great opportunity to obtain hands-on experience and a better understanding of airport design and the aviation industry.

Qualifications:
Current student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering at an ABET-accredited university

Be proficient in production software and construction document production.

Have experience working on parts of major projects or multiple moderate-size projects, providing technical guidance to junior-level staff, including reviewing others' work for technical accuracy, and participating in the design and implementation of new services, processes, standards, and/or operational plans that had great impact on the achievement of functional results.
