What you'll be doing:
Office Manager for all aspects of our Georgia area clients
Be a practice builder - growing services, clients, and geography
Serve as the lead with key client and contract management
Develop annual and quarterly budgets for both marketing and operations
Recruit, develop, and retain staff
Manage diverse civil projects to meet financial and technical requirements
Coordinate with other Volkert Office Managers in the state and the region to work share
Prepare and deliver technical presentations
Participate in marketing and business development
What you need to have:
B.S. or M.S. in Civil engineering from ABET accredited engineering program
Licensed P.E.
Possess a strong understanding in developing all project management controls including budgeting, scheduling, and staff management
The ability to manage AND assist in the production of design deliverables
15+ years of experience in roadway project management
10+ years' work experience in the following:
Marketing
Project Management
Personnel Management
Engineering Design
Must have an entrepreneurial spirit looking to add to continual growth in the area

Ability to write clearly and succinctly with a high-level of accuracy, using proper grammar, spelling and punctuation
Professional interpersonal skills with ability to work with colleagues at all levels of the organization
Must be detail oriented and self-motivated
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; graphics skills and programs a plus
Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite and Deltek is strongly desired

Contribute to project production sheets by laying out plan, alignment, detail, and other sheets as necessary
Use various methodologies and/or techniques to accurately label and add notation to sheets

What you need to have:
Experience in Autodesk Civil 3D is a requirement, include years of experience associated and a reference contact for quality of work confirmation.

Work is performed under the general supervision of the Project Administrator
What you need to have:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Two (2) years of experience in construction inspection, one (1) year of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction
OR
An Engineer Intern with a Civil Engineering Degree
Knowledge of GDOT specifications and standards and typical practices for highway construction.
Ability to read and comprehend roadway construction plans.
Have, or be able to earn, the following certifications: GDOT F/CON, GDOT WECS, GSWCC Level 1A, Advanced Traffic Control
Flexibility to work daytime shifts primarily, with occasional night and weekend shifts

The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $130,000, depending upon experience.
What you'll be doing:
Lead multidisciplinary teams in the design and implementation of natural gas infrastructure projects

Manage permitting processes with local, state, and federal agencies
Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and construction procedures
Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies
Interface with stakeholders including municipalities, landowners, and regulatory bodies
Support emergency response and on-call supervision as needed
Assist in capital and operational budget planning
Manage vendor relationships
Mentor junior staff and contribute to training programs

What you'll be doing:
Perform the routine aspects of assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles
Projects may include design and repair of highway bridges and retaining walls, bridge load ratings, review of working drawings and cost estimating
Analyze structures using various structural engineering software programs
Prepare or check structural calculations and details of structural elements for various materials, predominantly steel and concrete
Prepare structural drawings in Open Bridge, MicroStation and AutoCAD
Coordinate with other disciplines such as roadway and drainage to perform checks of documents for conformance to structural drawings
Work as part of our Structures Team
What you need to have:
B.S. in Civil Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
5 - 10 years of engineering experience in bridge design
Recent experience in steel and/or concrete bridge design
PE required
GDOT experience preferred
Familiarity with bridge design and analysis software such as Open Bridge and/or Leap Bridge, CSI Bridge, AASHTO BrR, other bridge analysis software

The Aviation Electrical Engineering Intern will be mentored by and collaborate with airfield engineers on our team based in Atlanta, GA. The selected candidate will assist in the design and construction of runways, taxiways, terminals, FAA NAVAIDs, airport lighting systems, and a variety of airport support facilities. Our intern will work on a wide range of airport projects that combine innovative airside and landside design with a strong knowledge of technical standards to exceed client expectations and provide cost-effective solutions. The successful applicant will gain experience in long-term airport planning, detailed engineering design, and construction administration. Engineering design elements will include grading, drainage, pavement geometry, and construction phasing.
