We are currently searching for an experienced Junior Structural CAD Technician to support our Southwest Region located in Texas.
To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, a degree in Computer Aided Drafting or similar field and 3 years of prior experience with structural drafting.
What you'll be doing:
Provide assistance to engineers using OpenBridge Designer to create bridge detail plans and perform minor design work on bridge projects
Contribute to project production sheets by adding dimensions and laying out plans, title and detail sheets on production sets of plans
Prepare minor mathematical calculations and quantity calculations for roadway/bridge projects
Work with engineers to develop 3D models using both Open Road Designer and Open Bridge Designer
Research applicable design codes and guidelines to ensure design compliance
Research design options and documents findings
Coordinates assignments with project team and supervisor
Perform quality control reviews of design plans and calculations
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Be a team player and assist other groups as needed
What you need to have:
Associate degree from a technical or four-year school
3-10 years of prior experience with structural and/or roadway drafting
Degree in Computer Aided Drafting or similar field is preferred
Familiar with TxDOT Bridge Detailing Manual and TxDOT Bridge Standards
Experience in Open Road Designer is preferred
Experience in Autodesk Civil 3D is a plus
Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team environment

Projects range from storm water management, drainage design, hydrologic, hydraulic and water quality modeling, and environmental permitting in accordance with TxDOT, other state transportation agencies, and local municipalities standards, criteria and accepted practices; coordination with clients and governing bodies; construction administration/management; grant management; coordination and interaction with other RS&H and team member disciplines, including Transportation, Aviation, and Environmental; and active industry involvement.
Requirements
* Demonstrate excellent technical knowledge of water resources design fundamentals with the ability to direct and check the work of other staff.
* Knowledgeable on all aspects of drainage plans and technical specifications production.
* Function as a leader on small, moderate, or large scope, multi-disciplined projects.
* Act independently regarding technical matters pertaining to drainage design and/or storm water modeling.
* Enjoy working in a highly flexible, team-oriented, collaborative environment.
* Excellent communication, analysis, and documentation skills.
As a Water Resources Engineer, you will:
* Communicate directly with clients, helping to foster and maintain client relationships.
* Support leadership of the Texas Water Resources team, including client management; assist in winning work; lead, develop, and deliver projects, financial performance and revenue growth; backlog balancing through utilization and workshare; and associate mentorship and growth.
* Design a complete project, system, component, or process. Prepare project plans, specifications, and reports.
* Analyze and interpret data. Perform analyses of design, planning, and impact studies, as well as cost analyses, design requirements, site selection, and design layouts.
* Apply advanced knowledge and expertise to resolve complex issues and/or unique challenges.
* Support business development to provide growth and sustained backlog, including management of client relationships for loyalty, long-term engagement, and lifetime retention.
* Responsible for project performance and execution, including oversight of Design Teams through mentorship and project leadership.
* Recommend operational strategies and plans with direct impact on results.
Required Qualifications:
* ABET accredited Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
* Minimum 7 years of experience in water resources modeling and design
* Texas PE licensure or ability to obtain within 6 months of starting
* Effective team-focused associate that will foster teamwork, help set priorities, and provide direction to production associates
* Strong record of leading design teams
* Good organization and motivation skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to travel across the region to existing/potential Clients
* Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record
* Working knowledge of CADD (Microstation SS10, ORD, and/or Civil 3D), ArcGIS, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required for use in completing an assignment
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with the following:
* Watershed delineation and determination of hydrological parameters
* Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using HEC-HMS, ICPR 4/StormWise, SRH-2D and/or SWMM
* Riverine and bridge modeling using HEC-RAS
* Culvert modeling using HY-8
* Drainage Analysis and Design using Subsurface Utilities Design and Analysis (SUDA) for Open Roads Designer (ORD)

We are currently seeking an experienced Structural Buildings Engineer to join the Buildings Engineering team in our Jacksonville, FL, Dallas, TX, or Charlotte, NC Office.

The Structural Engineer will join our Buildings Engineering Team, focusing on structural building design for projects within our aviation, aerospace, federal, health and science, and commercial market sectors. Our projects range from small renovations to large multi-building projects. This position performs all conventional aspects of engineering design and development, including the planning and conducting of work requiring more advanced techniques. This position independently performs a variety of assignments requiring skills in all conventional aspects of engineering designs for projects of moderate size and complexity.
Essential Functions:
Prepare construction documents, including structural drawings and specifications.
Perform structural calculations by hand and with computer-assisted engineering software.
Coordinate with other internal disciplines, including architecture, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical.
Review shop drawings, answer requests for information, and provide construction site visits.
Designs a complete project, system, component, or process and prepares project documents, engineering analysis, and reports.
Performs quality control reviews and ensures achievement of key milestones. Perform as-needed field reviews and observations of ongoing construction projects to maintain and increase understanding of construction practices and design applications.
Formulates and solves problems with timely and innovative solutions.
Maintains professional registration and licensure by ensuring conformance with professional, ethical, educational, and discipline practice requirements. Remains knowledgeable of all applicable federal, state, and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances that are pertinent to respective discipline.
May provide technical guidance and assign tasks to junior and support staff for project duration. May also manage discipline and small multidisciplinary teams and ensure adherence to company and project contractual requirements.
Performs all other duties as assigned and within scope of practice.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
5+ years of relevant experience.
Professional Registration.
This experience includes working on parts of a major project or multiple moderate-sized projects.
Proven experience leading and/or providing technical guidance to entry/junior-level staff. This includes proven experience reviewing others' work for technical accuracy.
Possess strong oral and communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word.
Understanding of building codes and specific design codes related to structural engineering (ASCE 7, AISC, ACI, etc).
Proficient in Revit.
Skilled in the use of structural design and analysis software (RAM, Enercalc, ETABS, etc).

RS&H is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Aviation Practice.

Throughout you will be guided by senior professional engineering staff and become well-versed in FAA standards and the latest technologies driving the industry. You will help train junior engineering staff.
Opportunities will be available for cross-functional collaboration on building projects, photovoltaic developments, electric vehicle infrastructure, as well as RS&H's renown space port projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or pursue within 6 months.
Minimum 5 years of experience in consulting engineering, preferably aviation
Experience designing building electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and security
Be proficient with software packages: AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with software packages: AGI32, SKM
Experience with FAA standards and the National Electrical Code (NEC)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
