To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, a degree in Computer Aided Drafting or similar field and 3 years of prior experience with structural drafting. What you'll be doing: Provide assistance to engineers using OpenBridge Designer to create bridge detail plans and perform minor design work on bridge projects Contribute to project production sheets by adding dimensions and laying out plans, title and detail sheets on production sets of plans Prepare minor mathematical calculations and quantity calculations for roadway/bridge projects Work with engineers to develop 3D models using both Open Road Designer and Open Bridge Designer Research applicable design codes and guidelines to ensure design compliance Research design options and documents findings Coordinates assignments with project team and supervisor Perform quality control reviews of design plans and calculations Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor Be a team player and assist other groups as needed What you need to have: Associate degree from a technical or four-year school 3-10 years of prior experience with structural and/or roadway drafting Degree in Computer Aided Drafting or similar field is preferred Familiar with TxDOT Bridge Detailing Manual and TxDOT Bridge Standards Experience in Open Road Designer is preferred Experience in Autodesk Civil 3D is a plus Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team environment Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
