Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Mentorship: Provide vision, leadership, and positive mentorship to middle school student-athletes, instilling values of teamwork, discipline, and respect. Skill Development: Teach basketball fundamentals, strategies, and conditioning appropriate for middle school athletes. Program Management: Plan, organize, and oversee practices, games, and team activities with attention to skill progression and sportsmanship. Compliance & Eligibility: Ensure adherence to OHSAA and Garfield Heights City Schools policies, including academic and eligibility standards. Game Preparation: Develop practice plans, game strategies, and in-game decision-making to support team success. Safety & Supervision: Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment during all practices, games, and travel. Collaboration: Work with athletic staff, school administration, and parents to support the basketball program and the development of student-athletes. Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with families and the Garfield Heights community to encourage program support. Other Duties: Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the Athletic Director or school administration.
