    Job Title: Demand Planner Reports to: Corporate Purchasing Director The Demand Planner is responsible for developing accurate demand forecasts and providing insights that guide production, inventory, and distribution planning. This role works cross-functionally with the Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance departments to ensure the right products are available at the right time, optimizing customer service levels while minimizing costs. Supervisory Responsibilities N/A Essential Duties Develop and maintain short-, medium-, and long-term demand forecasts using historical sales data, statistical models, and market insights. Monitor and analyze demand trends, customer order patterns, and external market factors. Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Finance departments to incorporate promotional activities, new product launches, and market intelligence into forecasts. Partner with Supply Chain team members to align demand forecasts with production capacity and inventory levels. Measure forecast accuracy, identify gaps, and implement improvement initiatives. Support the Sales Inventory Operations Planning (SIOP) process by providing accurate demand inputs and scenario planning. Prepare reports and dashboards to communicate demand outlook, risks, and opportunities to leadership. Maintain and improve demand planning systems, tools, and data integrity. Required Skills and Abilities The ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without direct supervision. The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The ability to effectively work with material and resource planning systems, spreadsheets, word processing documents, and other applicable computer systems and data management software. The capacity to think critically, calculate, analyze, and track details/figures/data and make competent decisions based on those details/figures/data. The ability to note and address small errors or inconsistencies in products or processes. The ability to compose clear, concise, grammatically correct, and professional emails, reports, and other written documents. The ability to work effectively with colleagues and teams across different teams, departments, and physical locations. Education and Experience Knowledge of data analysis, forecasting, and supply chain management normally acquired by the completion of a bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, economics, statistics, and/or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 2 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, and/or supply chain analytics. Proficiency using forecasting tools and ERP systems such as D365, Syteline, SAP, Oracle. Advanced experience using Microsoft Excel such as V and XLOOKUP, Pivot tables, date and time functions, and IF functions. Experience with SQL or Python programming languages preferred. Physical Requirements The ability to use hands, arms, and fingers for tasks such as writing and typing. The ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time. Sufficient visual acuity to read documents and recognize details at close range. Flexibility to bend, stoop, and reach low or high objects occasionally. Proactively communicate with Supervisor regarding shipments and inventory. Ensure all pallets/boxes have the correct label/pallet tag, are properly corner-boarded, banded, wrapped, and weighed in preparation for shipment. Unpack, examine, and route incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Plant Manager. Receive and process all defective material returned for replacement or credit. Ensure forklifts are in good working condition and make sure forklift inspections are being done regularly. Safely operate material handling equipment such as forklift, motor vehicle, hydraulic cart, pallet jack, etc., to move and stage materials and maintain the flow of production. JOB DUTIES * Responsible for maintaining the flow of plastic to all molding machines in the department. Assemble and monitor the operation of auxiliary equipment per prescribed procedure. * Disassemble and clean hoppers, and blenders and maintain their operations, as production requires. Analyze and resolve minor problems in the central loading system. * Move raw materials from pick-up station to molding room by using hand or lift truck and supply department with materials, skids, boxes, and bags. Remove skids from the molding room along with refuse and return to the staging area. * Maintain accurate paperwork flow from materials to quality control. Prepare maintenance work orders for service to equipment as required. * Calibrate the on-press blender and ensure ratios are correctly done via a control box. * Responsible for housekeeping at color change, shift changeover, and overall room housekeeping. * Preventive Maintenance on grinders and resetting of blades. Ensure personal safety along with the safety of others around them. * Pull full skids of finished goods to final audit. * Move staged bodies and actuators to machines per supervisor's instructions. * Move empty boxes to the molding rooms. * Move scrap skids to the warehouse. * Print out all shop orders and labels as needed. * Order parts and lining materials for color changes and liner changes. * Work directly with the operators on what parts need to be ordered throughout the shift. * Return any unused components to the warehouse after orders are complete when time permits. * Help out operators and technicians with any free time. * Communicate all aspects of job activity to the next shifts material handler/lead operator, and/or supervisor/lead person REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * Ability to read, count, and write * Physical ability to perform activity list * Forklift truck training * Good attendance record. THIS IS HOW YOUR JOURNEY BEGINS * Arrive 5 minutes before start of shift in order to communicate with previous shift. * Read activity board for scheduled color changes, conversions and set-ups. * Create, label and number boxes. * Read shop order for product requirements and verify box label matches product. * Answer bells, check for stuck parts, and use Process Monitor on press. * Clean machines after completing production activities and to maintain efficiency. * When necessary, operate emergency stops on closing machines, grinders, auxiliary equipment and understand lock out/tag out procedure. * Operate and maintain all types of manufacturing equipment. At time operating several machines at once to relieve for breaks/lunch. * Examining and discarding defective goods and packaging components.
