Maintains accurate data entry records and evidence retention systems. Requires extensive electronic data, case and schedule management to create an accurate record of proceedings. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position located at the Cumberland County Courthouse in Portland, Maine. The salary range for this position starts at $21.61 per hour. Manage the electronic storage of digital discovery materials according to office retention policy. * Accurately docket and transcribe court proceedings based on the outcome of court events an as needed while court is in session. * Initiate and maintain contact with victims and witnesses by phone or written communication. Provide victims and witnesses with information and assistance throughout the duration of the case as required by statute, including but not limited to notification of hearings, explanation of negotiations and at times appearing with distraught victims in court. * Appear in court for trials or hearings as requested to assist prosecutors with presenting evidence records and/or setting up audio/video/computer equipment. * Provide clerical and administrative support services clearly documenting proceedings including but not limited to bail orders, rulings, interact with opposing counsel or involved parties, communicate with court and law enforcement as needed. * Prepare court docket lists electronically in the case management system and physically ensure they are marked up appropriately and disseminated according to office procedures. * Prepare and compile discovery in all criminal matters according to confidentiality statutes and office redaction procedures. Provide same to opposing parties in accordance with the Maine Court Rules of Criminal Procedures through the JusticeWeb Discovery Portal or similar secure methods. * Retrieve and process evidence from law enforcement agencies such as 911 calls, audio/video recording of police body cameras, review criminal history records, motor vehicle records, protection orders, bail records, public health laboratory records including alcohol and drug analysis records. * Maintain accurate data files by scanning and retaining original evidence records such as certified driving records, certified bail bonds and court orders in an organized manner daily. * Cross-train for other positions across teams and units to ensure office functionality including reception coverage, list coverage and court coverage. * Maintain technical knowledge by attending and participating in trainings as assigned. * Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed. * Handles work in a confidential and sensitive manner when dealing with cases.
