AmeriCorps members gain valuable experience in crisis intervention, outreach, advocacy, trauma informed practices, case management, customer service, data collection, resource development, program planning and partnership coordination. Service Term: Feb 3, 2025 to July 31, 2025 Days/Hours: This is a full-time position at 40 hours a week. These may be early morning, day, and evening hours, including some weekend hours. Members are required to serve for a minimum of 675 hours throughout the program year. Base Location: 2002 N. Florida Ave, Tampa, FL 33602 Member Duties Visit communities and canvas neighborhoods to build relationships with individuals who are experiencing unsheltered homelessness. Administer assessments and use tools to determine the needs of individuals. Provide individuals with information and referrals to community resources for housing, employment, health (physical, behavioral, and mental), food, transportation, etc.; Provide follow up support as needed to ensure linkage. Distribute basic needs supplies such as clothing, hygiene supplies, food, drink, blankets, etc. to those in need.     Sea Turtle Conservation Program-Nesting Volunteer REPORTS TO: Sea Turtle Conservation Program Staff PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Volunteers for the Sea Turtle Conservation Program will support the completion of all activities as listed in the Marine Turtle Permit held under the Sea Turtle Conservation Program. The incumbent will adhere to all policies outlined in the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) Marine Turtle Conservation Handbook, CMA policies and all city, state and federal regulations in a collaborative effort to complete FWC-authorized activities during the sea turtle nesting season. The primary responsibility of this position will be to contribute to the completion and documentation of sea turtle nest surveys, including by not limited to, locating evidence of all nocturnal nesting activity, nest marking, monitoring and evaluations within the survey area, and for regulatory projects as they may apply during the nesting season (April - October). They will be responsible for other tasks such as education with internal and external customers, participating in PR promotions, and the cleaning and maintenance of all equipment. These job functions require the volunteer to maintain flexible working hours, be amenable to shifting priorities and other changes, and be able to adjust accordingly. Assists with the daily operation of the Liberty Center complete with internet computers, recreational equipment and a variety of diverse programs to meet the needs of the personnel stationed aboard NAVSTA Mayport. Responsible for continuously marketing and promoting the programs, trips and activities through innovative methods of out-reach which can include but is not limited to using the Bachelors Quarters, Galleys, MWR facilities and social media outlets. Collaborates with other departments/department managers within MWR to plan, promote, and implement social activities that provide well-rounded and versatile programs.
