Overview: The Utility Technician will operate various Class A, B, and/or C vehicles (pumper truck, P&D truck, fence truck, container truck, etc.) in support of the operation's needs Responsibilities: Conducts daily pre-shift & post-shift vehicle inspection & report deficiencies to shop immediately. Also, report improper operation, faulty equipment, and unusual conditions to the Operations. Manager. Operates service truck to and from pre-designated work sites based on daily routing information. Services portable restrooms, holding tanks, septic tanks, sinks, showers, etc., at various work sites by following the Company's servicing guidelines. Notifies management of any issues encountered on back-up route assigned. Maintains telephone or radio contact with dispatch to receive additional instructions, changes to work locations, etc. Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations. Follow all established safety rules & regulations. Operates flat bed truck to and from pre-designated work sites based on daily routing information to deliver or pick-up portable restroom units, hand sinks, holding tanks or containers. Updates tickets with relevant delivery or pick-up detail. Operates fence truck to and from pre-designated work sites based on daily routing information to deliver or pick-up fence (chain link, panel, materials, etc.) Will also act as a lead on fence jobs where a crew is assigned to the job/truck and will operate fence installation equipment. Operates tanker/transfer truck to and from local dump and completes required paperwork as necessary. Special projects as assigned by management. To serve as backup to the maintenance supervisor in the performance of his duties and to assist in the performance of such duties. As assigned through the established work order procedures, to perform repairs, maintenance and, where necessary, replacements to the appliances, fixtures , and other components of individual units, including the air handlers, light fixtures and lamps, kitchen ranges, garbage disposals , dishwashers , basins, tubs and water closets, as well as smoke detectors , doors, and doorknobs and locks and such other items as can be repaired and maintained within the technicians' competence. To know the physical layout of the condominium's fire safety system and how it operates and be prepared to recognize when it needs servicing or repair and to supervise and critique outside contractors in the performance of such repairs and servicing . To keep a record of the locations of all fire extinguishers and the dates when they were last serviced and to initiate recharging, replacement or other servicing needed to assure maximum serviceability. To service, maintain and repair the pumps, heaters, filters, and other components associated with the swimming pool and to be generally responsible for the maintenance of the quality and temperature of the pool water. To assist the management in the creation and maintenance of records as to repairs, servicing, and replacements of components in the individual units of the condominium. To see that the supply stockroom maintains an adequate inventory of those items for which there is regular need. To keep the technician's work area orderly and provided with adequate tools and supplies to meet all but the most unforeseeable needs. To make occasional checks of the laundry rooms and to report to the management when the washers or dryers are in need of servicing , repair or replacement. To assist the maintenance supervisor in compiling and maintaining up-to-date manuals of detail instructions on principal machinery components of the condominium. To assume initiative in the development and implementation of innovative steps that will increase service life, decrease operating cost, or otherwise contribute to improving the condominium. Additional duties , not inconsistent with the duties assigned herein, may be assigned from time to time by the maintenance supervisor or by the management. As assigned through the established work order procedures, to perform repairs, maintenance and, where necessary, replacements to the appliances, fixtures , and other components of individual units, including the air handlers, light fixtures and lamps, kitchen ranges, garbage disposals , dishwashers , basins, tubs and water closets, as well as smoke detectors , doors, and doorknobs and locks and such other items as can be repaired and maintained within the technicians' competence. To know the physical layout of the condominium's fire safety system and how it operates and be prepared to recognize when it needs servicing or repair and to supervise and critique outside contractors in the performance of such repairs and servicing . To keep a record of the locations of all fire extinguishers and the dates when they were last serviced and to initiate recharging, replacement or other servicing needed to assure maximum serviceability. To service, maintain and repair the pumps, heaters, filters, and other components associated with the swimming pool and to be generally responsible for the maintenance of the quality and temperature of the pool water. To assist the management in the creation and maintenance of records as to repairs, servicing, and replacements of components in the individual units of the condominium. To see that the supply stockroom maintains an adequate inventory of those items for which there is regular need. To keep the technician's work area orderly and provided with adequate tools and supplies to meet all but the most unforeseeable needs. To make occasional checks of the laundry rooms and to report to the management when the washers or dryers are in need of servicing , repair or replacement. To assist the maintenance supervisor in compiling and maintaining up-to-date manuals of detail instructions on principal machinery components of the condominium. To assume initiative in the development and implementation of innovative steps that will increase service life, decrease operating cost, or otherwise contribute to improving the condominium. Additional duties , not inconsistent with the duties assigned herein, may be assigned from time to time by the maintenance supervisor or by the management. As specific instructions applicable to the duties of the technician are developed and issued, such instructions will become integral parts of this job description. Ability to detect auditory and/or visual emergency alarms and respond quickly and appropriately. Ability to respond to emergencies in a timely manner. Ability to work extended/flexible hours, weekends, and holidays if required by coverage for the building. Able to be on-call outside of normal operating hours when required. Must have reliable transportation. Able to work well with others, but also able to work independently without supervision. Complete all required forms and work orders. Regularly walks floors looking for cleaning or maintenance issues, and reports these back to supervisor. Must be reliable, flexible, an on-time.

What you will do as a Battery Technician: The Battery and Charger Technician troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains all types of industrial batteries and chargers. The Battery and Charger Technician performs routine maintenance and breakdown repair work in the field at customer sites. He/she prioritizes work orders, complies with safety incident reporting, and ensures all paperwork is submitted timely and accurately. The Battery and Charger Technician is responsible for providing excellent customer service and for maintaining company provided assets, including all work tools and vans. Job Duties: Diagnoses and troubleshoots customer breakdowns; provides proper repairs to minimize equipment downtime and initiates estimates for repairs on site. Calls for assistance if unable to diagnose or troubleshoot issues within one hour of being on site. Performs routine scheduled maintenance including, but not limited to, standard inspections, repairing and replacing defective parts, and repairing charging equipment. Operates all Wilson Barrett service and delivery vehicles in a safe manner and travels to all areas within our geographical region. Reviews repair work and scheduled maintenance results with customers, communicating any potential issues. Completes work orders in full when applicable and tests performance prior to leaving customer site. Palletizes batteries and chargers and makes ready for shipment either by common carrier or company vehicle in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies. Checks in customer batteries and chargers when received in the shop. Takes initial voltage and specific gravity readings, initiating shop paperwork per standard procedures. Removes, picks-up, delivers, and installs class 1, 2, and 3 batteries at customer locations. Properly fills out and return all transportation documents and paperwork. Performs POWERCARE maintenance at customer locations in accordance with established procedures. Assists Technician II and the Lead Technician with testing, repairs, and maintenance as directed. Follows work order instructions, keeping accurate records of time and parts used on jobs. Performs preventative maintenance repairs, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring supplies are stocked. Ensures Wilson Barrett property is maintained to the company's 5S standards. The van is company property and any accidental damage should follow standard incident reporting procedures. Ensures time cards are accurately maintained and that jobs are allocated properly with start and end times. Responsible for field quoting and communicating services to customers. Is responsible to utilize the Mobile Service application to close out the day, fill out work orders, obtain customer signatures, finalize jobs, and mark as complete. Ensures work orders are fully completed with the following: job number, customer information (name and address), equipment (make, model number, serial number, hour meter), repair story (in the problem/cause/correction format), parts listing, and final customer signature (verifying completion). Reports to Wilson Barrett shop on a consistent basis to replenish parts and finalize work orders. Establishes consistent communication with the customer and keeps them informed of work status and any other pertinent account information. Provides daily status updates to the dispatchers and reviews any customer issues or concerns with the dispatcher and supervisor. Leads by example in promoting a safe workplace. Follows Wilson Barrett's core safety values and ensures basic safety standards are adhered to including SDS, PPE, JSAs, hot work permits, and customer safety rules.
