The Doe Fund is also one of New York City's largest nonprofit developers of permanent affordable and supportive housing, with more than 1,900 units in operation or pre-development. The Doe Fund has an annual operating budget of $73 million and a full-time staff of nearly 500, a significant portion of whom are graduates of our programs.
The Doe Fund is contracted by EDC to provide support services for its Clean-Up Corp Programs hiring approximately 55 full-time workers. These Clean-Up Corps Programs - Graffiti Free NYC and Clean NYC are the City's principal task forces for removing graffiti and cleaning New York streets across five boroughs and work in close coordination with City Hall and the Mayor's Office on high priority requests. Work consists of: site cleanup, beautification, area maintenance, graffiti and snow removal. The Doe Fund also provides additional vocational and job training, with the goal of improving their career trajectory and gaining higher paid employment.
Program Overview:
The Clean NYC program was announced in 2016 as a joint effort between the Mayor's Office and NYCEDC. The program brought regular power-washing capabilities and garbage collection to clean sidewalks in heavily trafficked corridors in all five boroughs, with the goal to build welcoming, vibrant communities and business districts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Operating Small Engine Equipment: operating the street sweeper, weed whacker and trimmer to maintain streets and sidewalks, collecting debris, and ensuring proper disposal.
Route Following: Adhering to assigned routes and schedules to ensure thorough cleaning of the area.
Equipment Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance on street sweeping equipment.
Safety Compliance: Ensuring that all work is completed to specifications and in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Debris Removal: Removing litter, debris, and other contaminants from streets, sidewalks, and public areas.
Snow and Ice Removal: In some regions, removing snow and ice from streets during winter months.

MaintenanceWorker I The MaintenanceWorker I is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the building and grounds and minor repairs. Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED preferred. Good communications skills.
MaintenanceWorker I Principal Responsibilities:
Clean all areas and dispose of garbage in accordance with the facility schedule.
Provide general interior and exterior maintenance (examples: floor stripping, power washing, painting, lightbulb changing)
Maintain the facility landscape and perimeter (examples: lawn mowing, shrub trimming, snow removal, debris removal)
Assemble furniture and equipment and maintain in working condition
Complete work orders in a timely manner.
Accept and transport deliveries of supplies, furniture, and other program materials.
Assist in inventory control.
Be available and provide back-up in emergency situations.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of the job, the employee will be in both, the residential program and in the office. Work may be inside and outside.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to have visual acuity, talk and hear while communicating with peers and/or vendors. This position is sedentary and mobile. May require lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds without assistance. Must be able to climb and work from a ladder.
