JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE
The Custodian performs daily janitorial duties, and immediate minor repairs to the facility, reporting any maintenance or safety deficiency to management for correction. Performs all tasks needed to maintain cleanliness, sanitation and safety of the facility, adhering to janitorial schedules provided
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains the interior and exterior of the facility, including building, parking lot and grounds, in good condition
Daily cleaning of assigned areas using various cleaning products.
Restock bathrooms
Responsible for dusting, window cleaning, waste cans, and vacuuming lobby area and hallways.
Performs or assists in minor repairs that might include the following: Carpentry, Plumbing, Interior painting, Refurbishing and cleaning, Landscape and irrigation systems.
Follows daily checklist provided by supervisor; Assures tools and supplies are stocked and appropriately secured in store rooms; maintains cleanliness and order of store rooms
Checks facility daily for any safety concerns; understands local and building safety codes and requirements as well as OSHA, health department and EPA requirements; reports all deficiencies to management
Prepares and sets-up rooms for meetings, classes and events
Other duties as assigned
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Janitor/Groundskeeper maintains property both indoors and outdoors; conducts routine property checks to ensure they are clean and well maintained. Assists the Maintenance Technician as needed with repairs and common area cleaning.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The position of the Custodian will perform general cleaning and maintenance duties throughout large facilities. This includes detailed cleaning of gleaning rooms, warehouse aisles, conference rooms, offices, break areas, restrooms, and shared spaces. Identifies and reports sanitation or safety hazards and alerts appropriate personnel of any suspicious activity or individuals. Collects and returns misplaced items to the lost and found. WHAT YOU'LL DO
Sanitation and Custodial Services: Performs cleaning services in a large commercial facility using proper equipment and supplies, and follows procedures for safe use and operation. Cleans and details offices and conference rooms. Empties trash containers; dusts and polishes fixtures, tables and chairs; vacuums carpets, cleans walls, arranges furniture, and cleans window blinds. Cleans restrooms, using correct chemicals on all surfaces. Dusts and wipes-down all fixtures, fills all dispensers, empties trash containers, and mops and deodorizes floors. Cleans common areas, including hallways and stairwells. Removes trash from all trash containers, and lines containers with clean plastic bags. Cleans lunch rooms, including tables and microwaves. Sweeps and mops floors, fills dispensers, and empties trash containers. Cleans and maintains custodial equipment to ensure proper operation and safe condition.
Customer Service: Maintains quality of work and customer satisfaction. Responds to customer requests according to established procedures, or refers to a supervisor. Assists with preparation of conference rooms by preparing serving areas, coffee, water, etc. as needed. Works effectively with other staff members at all levels of responsibility within the Food Bank. Maintains good safety and security habits in or around the work area. Assists in resolving any discrepancies. Elevates concerns to the supervisor immediately. Performs other such duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Summary of Job
The Custodial Caretaker supports the ongoing operations of Spirit Rock events, classes, and retreats. This position performs housekeeping and custodial duties throughout the campus to help provide an attractive, sanitary and safe environment for staff, teachers and practitioners.
Specific Responsibilities:
Clean and maintain all assigned campus facilities (e.g. dormitories, meditation halls, administrative areas, restrooms, kitchen and dining hall etc.) for ongoing operations as well as the opening and closing of onsite retreats
Deep clean the kitchen on a regular basis
Ensure the site is suitable for safe operations which includes maintained in an attractive and clean condition and helps to identify necessary repairs
Use supplies (e.g. a variety of cleaning solutions, paper products, equipment, etc.) and equipment (vacuum cleaners, etc.)
Maintain inventory of all necessary supplies
Lift, carry and deliver various items (e.g. linens, supplies, furniture, etc.) to the appropriate parties
Train guests on cleaning tasks assigned to them during retreat programs
Setup event space (chairs, cushions etc.) for incoming guests and breaks down upon completion
Deliver and pick-up US Mail to/from Woodacre post-office and distribute around campus
Qualifications:
One to three years' experience in a similar position(s)
Demonstrated knowledge of equipment used for custodial care
Work with minimum direct supervision and operate effectively on a team
Proficiency with computers and related software and technology including Windows OS/MS Office/Google Docs
Interest in mindfulness and meditation a plus
Working Conditions:
Ability to work outdoors with exposure to seasonal weather conditions

Job Details:
A General Cleaner is responsible for maintaining common areas of office buildings, apartment houses, or other commercial or institutional buildings in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Spot clean the lobby glass doors
Polish chrome on lobby doors
Vacuum elevator cabs and wipe cab doors, walls, and tops twice a day
Inspect the building exterior and pick up any trash
Clean ashtrays and sand urns on every floor
Empty and clean exterior trash receptacles
Check restrooms twice daily
Vacuum lobby once a day or as needed
Sweep stairwells and landings as needed
Remove all debris from landscaped areas as needed
Sweep building entrances
Clean and remove smudges and marks on walls, doors, and wall covering
Report any lights out (exit, directory boards, etc.) to the Management Office

The Position
Under the supervision of the FMO Manager, the Custodian is responsible for maintaining building cleanliness, grounds and common area of all LAFH properties. This position may work as part of a team or independently and is expected to carry out responsibilities.
What You'll Do
Clean vacant units, and office spaces, including vacuuming carpets, clean walls, sweep floors, dust, strip beds, supply clean linens, clean and sterilize bathroom and all fixtures
Wash and distribute linens
Report need for pest control
Clean laundry room, halls, windows, offices, restrooms, and other interior common areas
Clean interior/exterior windows
Clean up debris around exterior/interior of facilities
Notify supervisor of need to reorder cleaning supplies
Clean/sweep grounds of buildings weekly
Clean building and facility exterior, building fixtures, light fixtures, fire extinguisher boxes as needed
Sweep and remove trash and debris from all common areas and stairways
Wash and clean all exterior windows
Capability to do minor maintenance repairs as directed by Operations Supervisor including replacing light bulbs and light fixtures
Report any maintenance issues, hazards, including any unusual activities to the Operations Supervisor and or the Property Manager
Assist with miscellaneous maintenance tasks at site as needed and directed by supervisor
Attend staff meetings as directed by supervisor
Additional tasks, projects, and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

The Position
Under the supervision of the FMO Manager, the Custodian is responsible for maintaining building cleanliness, grounds and common area of all LAFH properties. The position may work as part of a team or independently, and is expected to carry out responsibilities.
What You'll Do
Clean vacant units, and office spaces, including: vacuuming carpets, clean walls, sweep floors, dust, strip beds, supply clean linens, clean and sterilize bathroom and all fixtures
Wash and distribute linens
Report need for pest control
Clean laundry room, halls, windows, offices, restrooms, and other interior common areas
Clean interior/exterior windows
Clean up debris around exterior/interior of facilities
Notify supervisor of need to reorder cleaning supplies
Clean/sweep grounds of buildings weekly
Clean building and facility exterior, building fixtures, light fixtures, fire extinguisher boxes as needed
Sweep and remove trash and debris from all common areas and stairways
Wash and clean all exterior windows
Capability to do minor maintenance repairs as directed by Operations Supervisor including replacing light bulbs and light fixtures
Report any maintenance issues, hazards, including any unusual activities to the Operations Supervisor and or the Property Manager
Assist with miscellaneous maintenance tasks at site as needed and directed by Operations Supervisor
Attend staff meetings as directed by supervisor
Additional tasks, projects, and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
What You're Skilled At
Ability to follow directions and follow-through on work assignments
Ability to read and understand labels and directions on cleaning equipment and cleaning products
Ability to read and understand English as it is essential in communicating with management, tenants, clients, donors and volunteers
Ability to work as a team; ability to receive and give direction and instructions
Must have or obtain a Valid California driver's license and availability of an insured vehicle to travel within the LAFH property sites as necessary if applicable
Willingness and capability to perform requested duties and to be courteous and pleasant to vendors, clients and staff
Other
Willingness to be available on weekend and work after hours in case of emergencies
Obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification
Ability to pass post offer Tuberculosis (TB) clearances
Ability to work a 9/80 work schedule
Experience
High School Diploma Preferred
At least one (1) year of custodial/ janitorial experience preferred
