Job Description Lend strength to Bethel Church of Redding to see the expansion of God's kingdom by helping maximize working conditions for staff and visitor's safety to enhance everyone's ability to have the encounter they came for. Responsible for cleaning buildings, removing debris, and keeping areas neat and tidy. Vacuums and buffs floors, shampoos carpets, empties trash receptacles, and replace lining of trash cans. Keep buildings in clean and orderly condition. Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing carpets, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems. Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created. CROSSROADS CHURCH Custodian (Part time) General Description: The individuals in this position are responsible for day-to-day cleaning, setting up and breaking down all events, opening and/or closing of Church and School facilities. It is the responsibility of the Custodian to ensure that the facilities are cleaned and sanitized in a condition of operating excellence, cleanliness, and safety. JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE The Custodian I performs daily janitorial duties, and immediate minor repairs to the assigned facility, reporting any maintenance or safety deficiency to management for correction.
