This position is responsible for operating welding equipment to build high quality parts, subassemblies, and finished product. Weldments vary in type, size, and direction and are performed on a variety of production lines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Adjust welding machine settings to proper weld configurations
• Use tools such as grinders, needle guns, wire wheels, etc. for cleanliness of finished welds
• Heats and forms metal parts and components using hand tools, torch, or welding equipment
• Welds components in flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead positions
• Accurately operate and read measuring devices
• Assemble and weld various metal parts together
• Properly position material/parts to be welded
• Train and work in various areas of production in response to production demands
• Follow verbal and written work instructions including ability to read blueprints
• Attention to detail necessary to adhere to quality standards
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with safety procedures, rules, and proper 6S standards
• Work in both team and individual settings
• Regular attendance required

• Must receive a passing score on the Welder Qualification test and recertify skills as required by program guidelines

Inside the Role Perform physically demanding manufacturing duties including repetitive processes, moderate to heavy lifting, the use of machinery and following standardized work procedures at workstation or line assembly operations to mass-produce bus components or to assemble those components into a completed bus. Welder- Utility employees can perform tasks conducted by a specified area in a department or designated department. They participate in the assembly process and can rotate through all or most of them, rather than being assigned to a specific task on a permanent basis.

What You Drive at DTNA
Help production workers by performing duties when necessary
Use hand tools, adhesive dispensing equipment, forming machines, fixtures and/or end effectors to complete mechanical, electrical and structural assemblies and sub-assemblies on buses.
Install and assemble components for buses, use computer systems to access company data associated with assembly process, utilize drawings, bills of materials and specification sheets in both electronic and hard copy
Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision
Work in a LEAN manufacturing environment and employ continuous improvement daily.
Kitting of products, material and supplies
Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. Ignite torches or start power supplies and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded, completing electrical circuits.
Check specifications of materials loaded or unloaded against information contained in work orders.
Inform designated employees or departments of loaded items, and problems encountered.
Inventory supplies, and requisition or purchase additional items as necessary.
Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind and/or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, shielded metal arc, resistance welding, and submerged arc welding.
Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.
Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.
Inform designated employees or departments of loaded items, and problems encountered.

Shapes Precision Manufacturing is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Resistance Welding Technician to join our manufacturing team in Palm Bay, Florida. This role is responsible for performing precision resistance welding operations to assemble components in strict compliance with engineering specifications, customer requirements, and AS9100D/NADCAP quality standards. The Resistance Welding Technician will work closely with production, quality, and engineering to ensure consistent delivery of safe, high-quality parts for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
Set up, adjust, and operate resistance welding machines (spot, seam) to join precision metal components.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, process specifications, and work orders.
Perform inspections of completed welds using measurement tools, gauges, and visual inspection techniques to verify conformance.
Monitor welding processes and equipment operation, making necessary adjustments to maintain weld quality and efficiency.
Develop and maintain weld schedules in accordance with NADCAP requirements, including proper documentation and audit readiness.
Conduct routine maintenance on welding equipment and tools to ensure performance and minimize downtime.
Document work performed in accordance with company procedures, quality requirements, and customer standards.
Adhere to all company and customer safety policies, including proper use of PPE, lockout/tagout, and safe handling of aerospace materials.
Maintain work areas in compliance with 5S and Lean Manufacturing practices.
Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to resolve technical issues, recommend process improvements, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of resistance welding experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing.
Demonstrated ability to weld materials such as aluminum, titanium, and stainless steel.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, weld symbols, and technical documentation.
Knowledge of AWS D17.2 or equivalent aerospace welding standards preferred.
Ability to develop and adjust weld schedules in accordance with NADCAP requirements.
AWS Certified Resistance Welding Technician (CRWT) certification preferred; ability to qualify to customer-approved weld schedules required.
Strong attention to detail, quality focus, and ability to follow established procedures.
High school diploma or GED required; additional technical or vocational welding training preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
Manual dexterity, good eyesight, and steady hand-eye coordination for detailed work.
Work Schedule
Must be available for assigned shifts, overtime, and weekend work as required to meet aerospace production schedules.

Job Description
We are seeking skilled and reliable Field Welders with current 3G/4G certifications and hands-on experience working with miscellaneous metals such as stairs, handrails and light structural components. The ideal candidate will be proficient in stick welding, grinding, and interpreting blueprints and work instructions to complete installations with precision and professionalism.
Responsibilities:
Perform stick welding and other welding techniques on steel, aluminum and stainless steel materials.
Grind railings, stairs and structural components according to specifications.
Operate grinders, band saws and other standard ironworker tools.
Follow safety procedures and ensure compliance with OSHA, Mid-State, and General Contractor regulations.
Travel to job sites and adapt to various work schedules as needed.
Lift and carry up to 75 pounds safely.
Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and on time.
Qualifications
Certified in 3G/4G welding is preferred (company will certify also).
Proven experience in stick welding, particularly with stairs, railings and light structures.
Proficient in using grinders, band saws, and standard fabrication tools.
Experience with aluminum and stainless welding preferred.
Ability to read and follow blueprints.
Familiarity with construction job sites and safety protocols.
Must be dependable, team-oriented, and flexible with work hours and travel requirements.
