This individual will deliver dependable financial information to both internal and external stakeholders, analyze periodic financial outcomes, and act as a business advisor to ensure accurate accounting for new products and transactions. Profile Responsibilities: Partners with business units, consults on accounting considerations related to new transactions/products and prepares accounting memorandums summarizing accounting conclusions Leads purchase accounting conclusions and ledger set up including designing disclosures related to business acquisitions Understands products and services offered in different business segments and business results; supports financial reporting by preparing information needed for GAAP and Statutory reporting requirements Critically analyzes financial results of business segments to understand variances including documentation in collaboration with business unit partners and present to management Prepares US GAAP disclosures included in Forms 10-Q/K through the execution of the company's policies, procedures, and controls Conducts SEC, GAAP, and STAT research, including peer research for various disclosures as needed and leads effort related to adoption of new accounting pronouncements Effectively interacts, communicates, and maintains liaison with other functional departments to ensure the quality, accuracy and completeness of the financial reporting disclosures Leads various projects as assigned including the process improvement initiatives related to financial reporting as well as the implementation of new or expanding the usage of certain existing financial reporting tools and other improvement initiatives Ability to directly manage, mentor, coach and oversee junior team members and functional areas Interact with internal and external auditors as needed; helps lead and support audit initiatives as required Manage other corporate and accounting responsibilities Knowledge & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting CPA required Minimum 7-10 years of experience, including public accounting or SEC reporting environment within the insurance industry Deep understanding of US GAAP and competency in preparing financial statement disclosures and performing financial analysis, knowledge of Statutory reporting preferred Able to assist other analysts, consultants and managers with advanced problem solving and complex analysis A self-starter, critical thinker, proactive, detail oriented, self-motivated, self-disciplined and performance driven team player; ability to work and perform tasks with little direction #LI-SS1 #LI-Remote Compensation Pay Disclosure: Voya is committed to pay that's fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities. Stock Plan Services is seeking a Financial Reporting Manager who has a deep understanding of share-based payment concepts. What you'll do: The Financial Reporting Manager will be responsible for providing support services to corporate clients on the application of equity compensation accounting concepts in the Schwab EquiView system. You are a subject matter expertise in both ASC 718 and IFRS 2 and you will deliver training on advanced accounting topics both internally and externally. You will be responsible for identifying system enhancements and development opportunities based on client needs and regulatory changes. Additionally, you will create and maintain whitepapers and all other accounting documentation. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: * Provide proactive financial reporting support to corporate clients and make recommendations when appropriate to address reporting challenges * Lead Sales Demos covering the financial reporting features of Equiview. * Lead discovery and consultation conversations with corporate clients to determine their needs. * Play a leading role in the financial reporting conversion efforts for new clients coming on board. * Be the subject matter expert in domestic and international share-based payment concepts * Understand overall stock plan record-keeping system architecture and functionality * Understand the Schwab EquiView financial reporting system from settings configuration to expense and disclosure reporting calculations * Monitor regulatory changes, drive thought leadership efforts and provide sales support * Identify development opportunities, gather business requirements, and work with Product Management to implement new financial reporting features What you have To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.
