Job Summary: Voyager is seeking a Senior Material Planner to support Department of Defense programs. This candidate will be the principal program Material Planner responsible for all planning and executing both development and production material workflow to achieve required deliveries for the assigned program. Under direction of the Production Control Manager and the assigned Program Management team, will be responsible for ensuring daily operations and product flow are planned and executed to achieve on-time deliveries and production cost targets are met. The successful candidate will do this by: * Collaborating cross-functionally with safety, design engineering, operations, quality and other teams to understand and define Make/Buy component and assembly lead times, equipment and tooling availability, and production floor capacity constraints tools to develop and execute robust plans that achieve deliverable requirements. * Utilizing project management techniques / tools to meet cost, technical and schedule requirements * Tracking and adapting to non-conforming product, taking corrective and preventive action to maintain production deliverable schedules * Supporting continuous improvements to manufacturing processes to deliver in line with customer requirements * Proactively supporting and coaching the production managers and technicians to prioritize their work in the most efficient manner to achieve production schedules * Actively participating in the change management process driving and implementing process / design changes to improve manufacturing results and support improvement of business processes as a whole Candidate will assist various management, staff, vendors/suppliers, customers, and partners to ensure manufacturing processes and methods are executed in a timely manner to meet customer contractual requirements. Responsibilities: This job requires the candidate to perform tasks, inclusive of those identified below, with little to no supervision: * In coordination with the program team, lead production planning activities across multiple programs, balancing capacity, material availability and schedule requirements to achieve optimal delivery * For Buy scope, timely issuance of purchase requisitions, purchase orders and tracking supplier status at each stage of the production plan to ensure maximum opportunity for timely order fulfillment. * For Make scope, plans, directs and monitors work order execution through proactively resolving shortages, engineering changes and priority conflicts * Creates and utilizes the tools required to status on-going efforts in all stages of the production plan to enable active management of the production plan. * Interpret, prioritize and execute MRP action messages to adjust procurement and work order release decisions. * Works closely with VTS management and the program team to ensure that all supply/demand risks and critical shortage issues are identified early and proactively elevated and properly acted * Develop and maintain production schedules, Lines of Balance (LOB) charts and milestone tracking monitoring and reporting production capacity, purchasing activities and critical shortages. * Support the development and implementation of performance metrics such as On-Time Purchase Requisition issuance, On-Time Delivery to Contract and On-Time Delivery to Manufacturing * Support continuous improvement initiatives for planning processes, KPIs and reporting tools. * Ensure adherence to all internal supply chain and operations * Participate in customer meetings, peer reviews, and problem-solving * Other related duties as assigned Required Qualifications: * Ten (10) + years of professional experience in production planning, materials coordination or manufacturing operations. * Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, industrial engineering or related discipline from an accredited college/university.
