If you want to put your skills to work where the stakes are real and the mission is bigger than any one person, forge the future with Voyager. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Job Summary: We are seeking a Senior AI Engineer - Agentic Platform Lead to serve as one of the senior technical leaders for the Agentic Computational Engineering (ACE) team. In this role, you will architect and build the multi-agent platform, execution environment, and core services that allow AI agents to design complex hardware systems end-to-end. You will own the technical roadmap for the ACE platform, lead a small team of exceptional engineers, and partner closely with domain experts across propulsion, electronics, and manufacturing. This role is ideal for a builder who is obsessed with velocity, comfortable in ambiguity, and excited to spend their days turning cutting-edge AI research into hard industrial capability. You are the kind of engineer who uses AI as leverage, not a novelty, and who views waiting on slow tools as a bug in the system to be eliminated. You will be joining the Agentic Computational Engineering (ACE) team, a specialized group within our Advanced Technology Development organization. ACE is responsible for building Voyager's Generative Engine - the AI-native platform that compresses complex hardware development cycles from years to days. We design agentic AI systems that pair deeply with physics simulation, test data, and modern manufacturing so that Design for Manufacturing (DfM), Design for Assembly (DfA), and Design for Test (DfT) are built into the very first line of code and the very first sketch of a design. Responsibilities: Architect and own the full stack ACE platform for the Generative Engine, including agent orchestration, execution runtimes, and frontend and backend services. Design and implement distributed systems patterns (e.g., orchestrator-worker, swarms) that coordinate AI agents across the full hardware design lifecycle. Build the secure execution layer where agents can autonomously run code, simulations, and analyses against internal tools and data sources. Design and implement memory, context, and provenance systems (RAG, vector stores, decision logs) so agents can recall and justify prior design decisions. Aggressively profile and optimize system performance, with a focus on latency, reliability, and observability for large numbers of concurrent agents. Lead and mentor a small team of exceptional engineers, scientists, and/or mathematicians setting standards, reviewing code, and growing early-career talent. Collaborate with domain teams (electronics, propulsion, manufacturing) to translate their workflows into scalable agentic capabilities on the platform. Influence long-range technical strategy for ACE and help define how agentic AI is used across Voyager's engineering stack. Required Qualifications: Master's degree + 5 years, or PhD + 3 years, in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field; or equivalent practical experience. 5+ years of experience building production-grade backend or distributed systems in high-throughput or mission-critical environments. Deep experience with modern programming languages such as Python, Go, or Rust, and with microservice architectures, message buses, and containerization. Hands-on experience building or integrating LLM-based systems, including agent orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, AutoGen, custom runtimes). Demonstrated “AI-first” workflow: you routinely use LLMs and agents to accelerate coding, documentation, and testing and have examples of where this 10×'d your output. Proven ability to lead technical projects, mentor other engineers, and make architectural decisions in a fast-paced, highly ambiguous environment. Preferred Qualifications: Background or minor in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or Applied Mathematics. Experience designing systems that connect AI agents to engineering tools (e.g., Ansys, Altium, CAD/CAE platforms) and internal services. Experience with observability stacks (logging, tracing, metrics) for complex distributed systems. Prior experience building platforms that support safety-critical or mission-critical applications at companies like SpaceX. A track record of personal projects or open-source work that shows your passion for building systems, not just doing a job. Voyager offers a comprehensive, total compensation package, which includes competitive salary, a discretionary annual bonus plan, paid time off (PTO), a comprehensive health benefit package, retirement savings, wellness program, and various other benefits. When you join our team, you're not just an employee; you become part of a dynamic community dedicated to innovation and excellence. This role requires a leader who challenges the status quo of "traditional space." We are looking for an expert who champions the adoption of modern, commercially derived electronics (COTS) for spaceborne applications over legacy "rad-hard by design" practices. You will drive the development of systems that span defense and commercial applications across all domains-from surface to airborne-with a specific, intense focus on spaceborne applications at all orbits (LEO, MEO, GEO, and cislunar). You will be joining the Advanced Technology Development team, a specialized unit within our Strategic Growth and Technology Organization. This team is responsible for defining and developing Voyager's future technologies, with a relentless focus on high-impact, high-ROI technology and product research and development. Experience productizing advanced R&D into monetizable commercial motions. Willingness to travel up to 25% to testing facilities and launch sites. Voyager offers a comprehensive, total compensation package, which includes competitive salary, a discretionary annual bonus plan, paid time off (PTO), a comprehensive health benefit package, retirement savings, wellness program, and various other benefits. In this role, you will help design and build AI-driven automations, bots, and internal applications that streamline how Voyager runs-from finance and HR to supply chain, manufacturing, and business development. You will work closely with the Internal AI Tools Lead and business stakeholders to understand real-world pain points, then turn them into concrete, working systems. You will build integrations, write services, wire up LLMs and agents, and ship tools that remove repetitive work from the organization and make our teams faster, more accurate, and more focused on high-value tasks. This role is ideal for early-career engineers (including exceptional new graduates) who love building things, are comfortable talking to users, and are excited to use AI as a core part of their engineering toolkit. You will be joining the Internal AI Tools Team, a small, high-leverage engineering group focused on building AI-powered systems that run Voyager itself. This team designs and delivers internal platforms, automations, and copilots that turn slow, manual workflows into streamlined, integrated systems. We work across the entire business-Finance & Accounting, Internal Communications, Performance Management, Human Resources, IT & Infrastructure, Cyber Security & Systems Assurance, Mergers & Acquisitions, R&D and Technology Roadmapping, Strategic Planning, Enterprise Risk Management, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain & Procurement, Manufacturing & Assembly, and Sales / New Business Capture. Our goal is simple: multiply the effectiveness of every team at Voyager by replacing spreadsheet-driven, email-based processes with secure, AI-driven workflows, decision-support tools, and intelligent assistants that dramatically reduce cycle times and improve execution quality. Responsibilities: Build and maintain AI-powered automations and workflows that streamline recurring business processes (e.g., report generation, approval flows, policy Q&A, data reconciliation). Implement internal tools and microservices that integrate with systems across Finance & Accounting, HR, IT, Cyber Security, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Sales / New Business Capture. Develop and maintain Slack/Teams bots, web frontends, and small internal apps that serve as “copilots” for business users. Use LLMs and agent frameworks to design task-specific assistants-such as a contract summarization agent, a supplier risk analysis agent, or an internal policy advisor bot. Work with the Internal AI Tools Lead and business stakeholders to map manual workflows into clear technical requirements and automation designs. Leverage agentic to rapidly write clean, tested code and contribute to shared libraries, templates, and best practices for internal automations. Monitor and debug automations in production; improve reliability and performance based on real-world usage and feedback. Required Qualifications: 0-3 years of professional software engineering experience (internships, research, or substantial personal projects all count; exceptional new graduates are encouraged to apply). Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language such as Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar. Experience building scripts, APIs, small web apps, or workflow automations-whether in a professional setting, research lab, or serious side projects. Familiarity with RESTful APIs, webhooks, and basic data modeling using SQL or modern data stores. Hands-on experience using LLMs or automation platforms (e.g., OpenAI tools, LangChain, Zapier, n8n, or similar) to automate or accelerate real tasks. Strong ownership mindset and willingness to talk directly with non-technical users to understand problems and ship solutions quickly. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related STEM field; or equivalent experience. Experience with one or more of: internal tools development, low-code/no-code automation, or back-office systems (ERP, CRM, HRIS, ticketing, finance tools). Exposure to enterprise or security-conscious environments (e.g., defense, aerospace, healthcare, finance) where data protection and auditability are important. Portfolio or examples of personal projects-automations, bots, dashboards, or tools you built to make your own life or your team's work easier. Interest in business operations and process improvement, not just writing code in isolation. Passion for writing and shipping code rapidly that has a measurable impact on business efficiency. To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. This includes designing "software scrubbing" routines, watchdog hierarchies, and redundant voting logic to keep the system running even when the hardware takes a hit. Edge Inferencing & Compute: Enable high-performance edge computing by optimizing ML inference engines and data processing pipelines to run directly on the spacecraft, reducing downlink requirements. Define Future Product Lines: Help develop Voyager's roadmap for "Infrastructure as a Service" (IaaS) in space. You will investigate new service layers (e.g., distributed mission control, on-orbit cloud services) and define the technical requirements to make them a reality. Cloud & Hyperscaler Integration: Analyze the role of terrestrial hyperscalers and how their technologies can be adapted for space. You will work on bridging the gap between terrestrial cloud tools and orbital hardware. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a US Government clearance (requires US citizenship) Modern Software & Containerization: Deep experience with containerization platforms and orchestration tools, specifically Kubernetes (K8s/K3s), OpenShift, or Rancher. You understand the internals of container runtimes and how to optimize them for embedded targets. Space Hardware Familiarity: 5+ years of experience working with radiation-hardened or radiation-tolerant electronics. You understand concepts like Single Event Upsets (SEUs), Latch-ups (SEL), and Total Ionizing Dose (TID), and how they impact software execution. Embedded Linux Expertise: Strong background in embedded Linux development (Yocto, Buildroot) and kernel customization for custom hardware platforms. Full-Stack Development: Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Go, Rust, C++, or Python, with a focus on building reliable, distributed systems. Space Program Execution: Experience working on spaceflight programs, understanding the rigor of qualification campaigns, flight software verification, and on-orbit operations. Familiarity with software-defined radios (SDRs) and DSP workflows (though deep RF expertise is not required). Active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance. Willingness to travel up to 25%. Voyager offers a comprehensive, total compensation package, which includes competitive salary, a discretionary annual bonus plan, paid time off (PTO), a comprehensive health benefit package, retirement savings, wellness program, and various other benefits. At Voyager Technologies, we're building technologies that protect lives, expand frontiers and prepare us for what's next. And we're doing that with people who are wired to solve, build, adapt and lead. These roles are not for the faint of heart. You'll help lay the foundation for humanity's future. Join a culture where innovation thrives, curiosity is rewarded, and impact is real. We're a company of doers, thinkers and builders, united by purpose and grounded in reality. If you want to put your skills to work where the stakes are real and the mission is bigger than any one person, forge the future with Voyager. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Job Summary: We are seeking an AI Software Engineer - Agents to build and harden the domain-specific agents that power the Agentic Computational Engineering platform. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain AI agents that behave like focused junior engineers - thermal analysts, supply-chain scouts, G-code validators, and more. You will sit at the intersection of prompt engineering, tool integration, and evaluation. This role is a fit for someone who already uses LLMs daily, who gets impatient when they can't automate a task, and who wants to see their agents move real hardware in the loop, not just push text around. Responsibilities: Design, implement, and deploy production-ready AI agents using frameworks such as LangGraph or Agent Development Kits from Google, OpenAI, or Anthropic. Define clear agent roles, goals, and capabilities, including prompts, tool schemas, and decision-making loops (e.g., ReAct, plan-and-solve). Develop and maintain Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers that expose Voyager's internal systems (PLM, ERP, simulation, repositories) to agents. Integrate external and internal engineering tools (e.g., Ansys, Altium, SolidWorks, Python toolchains) as robust, secure agent tools. Build evaluation suites and benchmarks that measure agent performance on realistic tasks (e.g., exam-style physics problems, PCB routing, CAD edits). Collaborate closely with domain experts to encode manufacturing, test, and safety constraints directly into agent behavior. Use LLMs as a development accelerator for scaffolding code, writing tests, and generating documentation for agent systems. Required Qualifications: 1-5 years of professional software engineering experience (exceptional new graduates and early-career engineers encouraged to apply). Strong proficiency in Python and experience building backend services and APIs or ability to rapidly learn (REST/gRPC). Hands-on experience building LLM-powered agents or tools using frameworks such as LangChain/LangGraph or similar (professional, research, or serious personal projects). Demonstrated habit of using LLMs and agents to accelerate development rather than writing all boilerplate by hand. Experience designing and documenting clean, versioned APIs and data schemas. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field; or equivalent experience. Ability to read and reason about schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation. Portfolio of personal projects involving robotics, 3D printing, electronics, or other physical-world builds. Experience building internal tooling for engineering, R&D, or manufacturing organizations. The strongest candidates will provide links to outstanding work (or descriptions when not possible to link) and evidence of experience and passion for leveraging agentic teams for rapid development.
