About The Job: The Sales Yard/Stockpile Loader Operator is responsible for efficiently and safely operating a loader to manage materials within a sales yard or stockpile area. This role involves loading, unloading, and organizing materials such as aggregates, recycling and other construction materials. The operator ensures that materials are properly stored, ready for sale or distribution, and maintains a neat and organized yard environment. What You'll Do: 1. Equipment Operation * Operate the loader efficiently to load, unload, and move materials within the sales yard or stockpile area. * Utilize loader attachments and equipment controls to handle different materials and arrange them for easy access. 2. Material Handling * Load customer vehicles with the appropriate materials based on orders and specifications. * Maintains stockpiles, cleans yard and plant areas and perform a variety of loading and lifting tasks. * Maintains and organizes stockpiles by type and size of material, ensuring accessibility and efficient space utilization. * Maintain inventory accuracy by keeping records of materials loaded and unloaded. * Maintains adequate feed of materials to blending tunnels as required. 3. Sales Support * Provides prompt loading service. * Assist customers by providing information about loading procedures and safety guidelines. 4. Safety and Compliance * Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. * Maintain a safe working environment by keeping the yard free from hazards and obstacles. 5. Equipment Maintenance * Performs pre and post operation checks on the loader. * Documents and reports any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel. 6. Yard Organization * Ensure the yard is neatly organized, with clear travelways and properly labeled stockpiles. * Monitor inventory levels and communicate with supervisors about restocking needs. 7. Communication * Coordinate with customers, truck drivers, and supervisors to schedule loading activities efficiently. * Communicate any delays, issues, or special requirements to relevant parties. 8. Quality Control * Visually inspect materials for quality and consistency before loading them onto trucks or customer vehicles. * Follows stockpiling procedures to prevent contamination. 9. Documentation * Maintain accurate records of materials loaded, inventory levels, and loading activities. 10. Environmental Awareness * Follow guidelines for proper disposal of waste materials and prevention of environmental contamination. 11. Other duties as assigned. What to expect: Martin Marietta is seeking a Utility Person to join our team. The ideal individual will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This individual will be responsible for safely and efficiently performing cross-functional duties in plant maintenance, production, and equipment operation. The utility person is responsible for greasing and lubricating plant equipment, maintaining plant housekeeping, operating equipment, and performing routine maintenance on plant and equipment. Hours are 6:00 am - 4:00 pm including weekends and overtime as necessary. What to expect: Martin Marietta is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. The ideal individual will be safety-conscious, dependable, and motivated. This individual will be responsible for safely and efficiently repairing and maintaining plant industrial equipment and machinery. The maintenance mechanic is responsible for repairing and maintaining stationary machinery, mobile equipment, and mechanical equipment such as conveyor systems, shakers, pumps, gearboxes, etc. This position is also responsible for preventative maintenance and repair of aggregate plant processing equipment and repair of mobile equipment. Hours are 4 pm - 4 am including weekends and overtime as necessary. This position will help identify and initiate tactical and strategic activities with the project supply chain customers, including process execution, and improvement, tracking, maintaining, and optimizing asset usage for shipments involving trucks and railcars for a construction project. The position helps manage, track and communicates all pertinent issues affecting the loading/unloading of railcars and trucks for an active construction project and ensures that proper documentation is recorded for tracking/forecasting purposes. Responsibilities Position may involve performing other admin duties as required, which may not be mentioned below. Specific functions may change from time to time. Responsible for comprehensive oversight and cost-effective and efficient management of transportation operations to include monitoring and tracking rail car locations, rail logistics, haulers, and volumes. Directs the scheduling of daily truck transportation operations and ensures compliance with operating policies, regulations, and work rules, in conjunction with project management. Develop, maintain, monitor and update shipping schedules. Research and resolve shipping issues associated with incorrect BOL or Waybills Maintain and monitor a rail cycle tracking system that includes tracking key performance indicators. Interface with Subcontractors, Haulers, and Rail Carriers to ensure that adequate resources have been deployed for the current unloading schedule. Demonstrated proficiency with shipping documents. Routinely interface with applicable management to provide updated status reports and forecast changes. Verification of loaded and empty rail cars. Monitor hauler arrival times and ensure haulers are arriving within their scheduled window. Adjusting hauler arrival times based on observations made in field to reduce congestion onsite. Responsible for managing the approved hauler list and submitting to client for new haulers' approval. Manage hauler performance documentation for site violations and notify the offending hauler of violations and maintain banned hauler/truck lists. Identify, help negotiate rates and onboard new haulers as needed by the site. Qualifications Two (2) years of recent rail and/or truck transit and rail logistics experience is preferred An undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is preferred; or a minimum of 2 years of equivalent experience Strong ability to professionally interact with a variety of team members and business affiliates Self-motivation, willingness to proactively pursue and acquire the expertise necessary to complete the position's purpose Strong work ethic and excellent attendance is a must. What You'll Do: Champion Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards. Comply with all Federal (MSHA, ATF, etc.) and State regulations and protocols regarding drilling, blasting, and general safety regulations. Plan Shots. Plan and design shots to optimize the production process while maintaining company standards for air overpressure, ground vibration, and compliance with any applicable regulatory requirements. Ensure that Vulcan blasting standards are followed and the shot is loaded according to the planned design. Adjust Patterns. Adjust standard patterns for optimization by addressing burden, spacing, angles, diameters, depths, etc. in a safe and appropriate design. Measure Accuracy. Measure and audit the accuracy of drilling operations and drill logs. Collaborate. Direct the work of vendor bulk truck drivers and Vulcan shot helpers during the shot loading process. Work with plant management and blasting vendor to ensure delivery of the correct and necessary amount of blasting agents according to shot design. Foster neighbor and community relations and respond to inquiries from such groups. Utilize Various Tools. Read and understand mine maps in order to guide facility management with mine and pit planning. Use GPS instrumentation to calculate scale distances. Read, analyze, and interpret seismographic results and make any necessary shot design adjustments accordingly. Operate signature analysis computer software. Use instruments such as laser profiler, bore track, and stemalign. Perform Administrative Duties. Perform administrative duties related to the blasting program, such as completing computer generated shot reports, managing pre-charging survey and post-blast surveys, reviewing and analyzing all shots on video, and completing shot layout diagrams. Monitor Processes and Materials. Analyze production and quality control to ensure a quality product is received by our customers. Monitor operational reports to ensure best practices in extraction, processing, stockpiling, and re-handling to ensure product remains within target specifications. Implement and monitor a preventive maintenance program to limit work stoppages, downtime, or other disruptions. Maintain Compliance. Build a strong safety culture to ensure the plant is in compliance with Vulcan's safety, operations, and environmental policies and procedures. Manage the health and safety of employees to continuously improve the Vulcan's health & safety performance. Inspect Equipment and Perform Repairs. Assist and organize the work of employees in the daily inspection and maintenance of the plant to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations to maximize production and minimize interruptions. About the Job: The Project Engineer will ensure safety, inspect plant systems, and support operations across multiple sites across Georgia, including Atlanta, Macon, Columbus, and others. Diesel Apprentice Program Details: The Apprentice Program is competency-based, meaning there is no set time for the program to last. During this time, the following tools will be utilized to support the on-the-job learning experience: * Competency List - The Competency list will show what you have completed and what you still need to learn. * Internal Training - "In-house" training led by competent mechanics while you are in the program. * Manufacturer Training - You will have the opportunity, schedule willing, to attend manufacturer training. * Mentoring - You will always work under a mentor or senior mechanic. This person will help you learn and understand the trade and the industry. * Reviews - You will schedule quarterly reviews with your leadership team. This will give you the time to review your performance and achievements. Once you have completed all of the competencies and completed 144 hours of classroom training per year, you will be promoted out of the Apprentice Program. What You'll Do: Promote Safety.
