What You'll Do:
Promote Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards.
Plant Operation. Operate plant equipment to regulate flow of materials to and from conveyors, chutes, pumps, and storage bins. Control stockpile inventory of materials.
Inspect Equipment, Structures, and Material. Perform daily inspections and maintenance of the plant equipment and document items in need of repair or service.
Monitor Processes and Materials. Monitor and review plant equipment systems to ensure continuous flow of materials and maintain certified products. Remove clogged materials when applicable.
Document and Record Information. Assist plant management with record keeping and daily production schedules for submitting reports on production and maintenance. Read and write delivery tickets to determine the mix design called for each load. Issue delivery tickets to customers.
Repair and Maintain Plant Equipment. Assist with maintenance activities, including greasing, lubricating, and other minor repairs throughout the plant when necessary.
Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.
Skills You'll Need:
Experience. Previous experience in the aggregate or construction industry is preferred.
Knowledge of Best Practices. A basic knowledge of the concrete, cement, or construction industry is preferred.
Flexibility. Must be able to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.

POSITION SUMMARY

What You'll Do:
Champion Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards. Comply with all Federal (MSHA, ATF, etc.) and State regulations and protocols regarding drilling, blasting, and general safety regulations.
Plan Shots. Plan and design shots to optimize the production process while maintaining company standards for air overpressure, ground vibration, and compliance with any applicable regulatory requirements. Ensure that Vulcan blasting standards are followed and the shot is loaded according to the planned design.
Adjust Patterns. Adjust standard patterns for optimization by addressing burden, spacing, angles, diameters, depths, etc. in a safe and appropriate design.
Measure Accuracy. Measure and audit the accuracy of drilling operations and drill logs.
Collaborate. Direct the work of vendor bulk truck drivers and Vulcan shot helpers during the shot loading process. Work with plant management and blasting vendor to ensure delivery of the correct and necessary amount of blasting agents according to shot design. Foster neighbor and community relations and respond to inquiries from such groups.
Utilize Various Tools. Read and understand mine maps in order to guide facility management with mine and pit planning. Use GPS instrumentation to calculate scale distances. Read, analyze, and interpret seismographic results and make any necessary shot design adjustments accordingly. Operate signature analysis computer software. Use instruments such as laser profiler, bore track, and stemalign.
Perform Administrative Duties. Perform administrative duties related to the blasting program, such as completing computer generated shot reports, managing pre-charging survey and post-blast surveys, reviewing and analyzing all shots on video, and completing shot layout diagrams.

What You'll Do:
Promote Safety. Take an active role prioritizing safety for yourself and others to ensure all assigned plants have zero accidents and are in total compliance with all Vulcan policies and procedures.
Organize and Plan Production. Plan the daily operation scheduling of plant production to ensure optimal utilization of plant and equipment, personnel and inventory requirements, and work procedures in regards to stripping, mining, processing, stockpiling, loading and shipping. Responsible for all aspects of site planning and pit development.
Manage Employee Relations. Provide strong leadership, training, team building and supervision to all employees at the plant in order to support the operational function of the business. Work cross-functionally with HR to recruit new employees, provide merit increases, perform disciplinary actions, and evaluate the performance of employees in order to develop talent.
Monitor Processes and Materials. Analyze production and quality control to ensure a quality product is received by our customers. Monitor operational reports to ensure best practices in extraction, processing, stockpiling, and re-handling to ensure product remains within target specifications. Implement and monitor a preventive maintenance program to limit work stoppages, downtime, or other disruptions.
Maintain Compliance. Build a strong safety culture to ensure the plant is in compliance with Vulcan's safety, operations, and environmental policies and procedures. Manage the health and safety of employees to continuously improve the Vulcan's health & safety performance.
Inspect Equipment and Perform Repairs. Assist and organize the work of employees in the daily inspection and maintenance of the plant to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations to maximize production and minimize interruptions.
Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.
Skills You'll Need:
Experience. Previous experience in supervising production employees preferably at either an aggregate, sand/gravel or asphalt plant preferred.
Leadership and Management Skills. Must be able to provide strong leadership and mentorship to employees, both direct and indirect reports, to motivate and maintain interpersonal relationships.
Operational Knowledge. Must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of rock and sand mining, ready-mix concrete, and/or asphalt operations and equipment, MSHA regulations, engineering principles and procedures, and quality control systems and processes.
Interpersonal Skills. Must be an excellent motivator and team builder. Must be able to form strong social relationships and effectively communicate with both internal and external audiences.
Financial Knowledge. Must possess knowledge and experience leading financial performance to established targets, meeting or exceeding performance goals.

What You'll Do:
Ensure Quality Control. Conduct routine testing of in-process materials, raw materials, environmental samples, and finished materials to ensure quality control of products at the point of production, shipping, and arrival upon the job site. Adhere to testing methods, including American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and Department of Transportation (DOT).
Document and Report Information. Complete all required reports in a timely and accurate manner, interpreting, documenting, and storing the results. Communicate test results in a timely manner to the supervisor and properly document in a database.
Maintain Lab Standards. Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained in and around the lab. Troubleshoot problems and review basic product specifications. Inspect, calibrate, and maintain testing equipment periodically.
Monitor Stockpile. Inspect stockpiles, materials sources, and truckloads at plant sites. Monitor the daily construction of the stockpile to ensure that segregation and contamination is kept to a minimum or eliminated. Notify management immediately if contamination is identified.
Inspect Equipment and Structures. Conduct routine inspections of the plant equipment in order to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations to maximize production and minimize interruptions.

Skills You'll Need:
Experience. Prior training or experience in the materials testing field is preferred. Knowledge of general principles and practices of aggregate production is preferred.

The primary role of the Inside Sales Representative is to manage, grow and maintain assigned accounts.
What You'll Do:
* Work in collaboration with other sales representatives, sales management, and SSC personnel to generate new and repeat sales.
* Generate business by calling on customers via phone, as well as email, personally, or other means.
* Answer incoming sales calls and gather market intelligence.
* Exercise independent judgment and reasonable discretion in quoting prices for jobs within the scope of provided authority.
* Focus on and expand Vulcan's penetration into the broad-based segment of the market comprised of smaller and less visible businesses/contractors that are not routinely touched via traditional sales and marketing activities and efforts.
Essential Job Accountabilities:
* Identify and prospect new and ongoing business to expand customer sales to a broader base of customers
* Pursue leads via bidders lists on projects to gain quoting/booking opportunities (existing and new buyers)
* Maintain, develop, and grow relationships with prospective and existing customers, building repeat business with new buyers, and expanding business with existing customers
* Manage and maintain a pipeline of prospects, primarily via phone customer contact
* Engage in consistent contact, project specific-quote, follow-up, booking, and account management activities
* Exercise independent judgment and decision making in providing quotes and pricing to customers within the scope of defined authority
* Assess, understand, and meet customer needs. Assist with any issues customers may have up to and including handing off to SSC or getting a follow up call from another team (e.g. credit, billing)
* Communicate with other departments to ensure smooth delivery of product, and address customer issues or problems
* Respond to new buyer inquiries, quote pricing, and secure business
* Act as advocate for smaller customers during execution activities such as trucking (i.e. smaller customers can help dispatchers drive efficiencies with trucks)
* Tag team with field reps as closers as appropriate (e.g. - In L.A., SBARS follow up on outstanding quotes to determine status, have pricing latitude to book tons, and actively manage customer list)
* Routinely active in the field as deemed by supervisor - customer and job site visits, and association meetings to enhance relationships and understand the market, product applications and to maintain effective market intelligence.
* Gather market intelligence via customer interactions and provide useful feedback to other sales representatives, managers and other support personnel. Maintain customer profile with pertinent information that will allow an ongoing, repeatable dialogue with customers
* Pursue non-traditional market segments to gain higher margin tons and balance plant inventories (e.g. Landscapers, Bagged Product, etc.)
* Use sales systems/tools (including mSales, APEX quote to cash, and Sales Analytics) to understand, measure, and capitalize on sales opportunities; communicate information to other sales teams
* Where appropriate and available, bundle and cross sell services
* Assist in the communication of companywide and/or local area sales campaigns to assigned customer group.
* Develop sales campaign topics targeted at SBAR specific accounts designed to keep cold calling campaign fresh and ongoing.
Skills You'll Need:
Education. Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
Experience. 3 years of relevant working experience preferred.

* Experience using sales system and database tools (e.g., customer relationship management or quote-to-cash) preferred.

Travel and Related Equipment. Travel with the train on its assigned route and protect its movement. Communicate with the locomotive operator through the radio regarding coupling cars, uncoupling cars, and operating switches. Operate hand-controlled rail switches, manual hand-wheel brakes, uncoupling levers, and remote control devices.
Repair and Maintain Plant Equipment. Perform minor maintenance activities around the train to improve performance and safety, including replacing heavy coupling and broken knuckles or air brake hoses.
Document and Record Information. Inspect all equipment on cars before movement. Maintain and enter records of price, product, weight, and customer name into computers. Generate bills of sale, dray tickets, and bills of lading.
Perform General Physical Activities. Perform a variety of physical tasks. Assist with the train's loading/unloading and operation, including breaking/making trains and using high-pressure water hoses, pry bars, and shovels. Safely and efficiently operate rail load out through the use of conveyor belts, motors, gearboxes, screens, etc. Perform start-up and shut-down procedures. Monitor material flow and load-out setting throughout the assigned area of responsibility. Make adjustments as required to maximize production to provide a quality product.

What You'll Do:
Identify Environmental Requirements. Analyze a wide array of environmental requirements including permits, plans and regulatory requirements and determine applicability to our operations. Develop and maintain a compliance framework that communicates plant responsibilities for each compliance program.
Conduct Inspections and Audits. Conduct frequent inspections and audits at each plant location to assess regulatory and environmental management compliance, control significant environmental risks, and ensure the adequacy of environmental management systems. Utilize findings to identify opportunities for improvement.
Develop and Deliver Training. Develop material to engage and educate operations on environmental awareness topics and required tasks. Provide training on an individual and group basis.
Interact with Various Groups. Provide assistance to local plant and sales personnel on environmental issues and compliance on a day-to-day and project basis. Interact with governmental agencies regarding new legislation, regulations and compliance issues. Participate in trade association activities. Manage the use of consultants to improve return and minimize costs.
Complete Compliance Support Activities. Prepare and submit permit applications, modifications and renewals. Prepare and maintain plans (SPCC, SWPPP, fugitive dust, etc). Track and complete reporting requirements (discharges, storm water, emissions, TRI, etc.) and manage recordkeeping requirements.
Skills You'll Need:
Education. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Geology, Biology, or a similar technical area is preferred. An Environmental Engineering degree and/or an advanced degree in some aspect of environmental studies is desirable.
Experience. Previous experience in the environmental area is preferred. Must have a high level of hands-on experience in reviewing regulatory requirements and assessing their applicability and impact to the field.
Regulatory Knowledge. Must have expertise in environmental regulatory compliance and numeric groundwater and surface water modeling. Must have strong knowledge of the federal and state environmental regulatory process and experience with environmental regulatory areas (RCRA, CWA, CAA, TSCA, etc.)

About the Job:
The Project Engineer will ensure safety, inspect plant systems, and support operations across multiple sites across Georgia, including Atlanta, Macon, Columbus, and others. Responsibilities include project management from design to implementation, structural design, plant troubleshooting, technical support for the SHE department, and anything else related to the mining operation. Movement between quarries will be necessary on an almost daily basis. There will also be opportunities to interface with work in other areas of the Division.

* Manage Design. Uses AutoCAD to perform design tasks and produce drawings. Draws on internal/external mechanical and civil designer resources as required, who produce the majority of drawings.
* Inspect. Provides field supervision/inspection services on construction projects. Performs post-project review to ensure key objectives, cost/performance improvements, and rate of return are achieved.
* Prepare Bid Packages. Prepares bid packages for construction and manages construction contracts.
* Provide Updates. Provide project updates on a regular basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.

Diesel Apprentice Program Details: The Apprentice Program is competency-based, meaning there is no set time for the program to last. During this time, the following tools will be utilized to support the on-the-job learning experience:
* Competency List - The Competency list will show what you have completed and what you still need to learn.
* Internal Training - "In-house" training led by competent mechanics while you are in the program.
* Manufacturer Training - You will have the opportunity, schedule willing, to attend manufacturer training.
* Mentoring - You will always work under a mentor or senior mechanic. This person will help you learn and understand the trade and the industry.
* Reviews - You will schedule quarterly reviews with your leadership team. This will give you the time to review your performance and achievements.
Once you have completed all of the competencies and completed 144 hours of classroom training per year, you will be promoted out of the Apprentice Program.
What You'll Do:
