What You'll Do: Promote Safety. Take an active role prioritizing safety for yourself and others to ensure all assigned plants have zero accidents and are in total compliance with all Vulcan policies and procedures. Organize and Plan Production. Plan the daily operation scheduling of plant production to ensure optimal utilization of the plant and equipment, personnel and inventory requirements, and work procedures in regards to stripping, mining, processing, stockpiling, loading and shipping. Maintain responsibility for all aspects of site planning and pit development. Manage Employee Relations. Provide strong leadership, training, team building, and supervision to all employees at the plant in order to support the operational function of the business. Work cross-functionally with HR to recruit new employees, provide merit increases, perform disciplinary actions, and evaluate the performance of employees in order to develop talent. Monitor Processes and Materials. Analyze production and quality control to ensure a quality product for our customers. Monitor operational reports to ensure best practices in extraction, processing, stockpiling, and re-handling and that the product remains within target specifications. Implement and monitor a preventive maintenance program to limit work stoppages, downtime, or other disruptions. Ensure Economic Profit. Maintain responsibility for management of financial decisions for the plant, including budgets, forecasts, inventory management, and labor and capital planning. Ensure adherence to all budgets and financial goals. Identify improvement activities to reduce costs and improve operating efficiency across the plant. Maintain Compliance. Build a strong safety culture in order to ensure the plant is in compliance with Vulcan's safety, operations, and environmental policies and procedures. We are currently seeking a Field Service Leadperson to support our Maintenance Services group. Reporting to the Sr Maintenance Services Manager. The Field Service Leadperson will primarily be responsible for safe repair, planned, and preventative maintenance of rock crusher machines and other fixed plant equipment at our operating sites. Responsibilities: * Maintain a TIIR (Total Injury Incident Rate) of 0 supported by reporting all near misses through the Canvas app, achieving 100% compliance on operational pre-shift equipment checks and utilizing the Guardian Angel Creed to educate and lookout for fellow employees * Lead or assist in repair and maintenance of all types of rock crushers including gyratory crushers, jaw crushers, cone crushers, and impact crushers. Tasks may range from liner changes and lubrication system maintenance through complete machine replacement. * Measure and inspect crusher components in the field to determine whether to use, repair, or replace using micrometers, calipers, and various measurement tools. * Generate field reports to document findings, corrective actions, and root causes. * Manage and document field expenses to be billed out by work order process to quarries. * Maintain all company issued equipment in safe working condition and DOT compliance with hours of service. * Complete task training on company service truck and all tools immediately upon hire. * Complete task training on all service cranes, trucks, welders and torches within 90 days of hire * Complete torch training and evaluation program within the first 90 days * Support Preventative Maintenance directives of annual crusher surveys and crusher daily inspections through completion and hands on training on sites. Qualifications and Skills: * The candidate must believe and practice safety as the number one priority * HS Diploma or GED required * Must be a self-motivated, strong work ethic individual that is willing to work with minimal supervision and at high level of accountability to operational requirements * A strong mechanical background * Ability to field weld with multiple processes, cut with plasma, and various traditional and thermal torches * Minimum 3 years' experience working in aggregates production or on rock crushing equipment. * Ability to correctly measure parts, clearances and interference fits with micrometers and calipers are necessary to perform the job functions * Basic computer skills with the ability to report and transfer information * Must have the willingness and ability to travel on a frequent level * Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions, cold and wind, sometimes rain, will be required * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. will be required

What to expect: Martin Marietta is seeking a Utility Person to join our team. The ideal individual will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This individual will be responsible for safely and efficiently performing cross-functional duties in plant maintenance, production, and equipment operation. The utility person is responsible for greasing and lubricating plant equipment, maintaining plant housekeeping, operating equipment, and performing routine maintenance on plant and equipment. Hours are 6:30 am - 5:00 pm including weekends and overtime as necessary. About The Job: The Pit/Production Loader Operator is responsible for efficiently and safely operating a loader to load materials, such as rock, and gravel into haul trucks or feeder. The role requires a skilled operator who can maneuver heavy machinery in a mining environment while adhering to safety guidelines and maintaining productivity targets. What You'll Do: 1. Equipment Operation * Operate and control the pit loader to load and move materials within the pit area. * Excavates quarry to maintain desired face, ramp and floor conditions including the construction and maintenance of safety berms. * Utilize the loader's controls to lift, tilt, and dump materials into designated areas or onto trucks/conveyors. * Handle attachments (buckets, forks, etc.) as needed for various tasks. * Ensure the safe operation of the loader and perform routine equipment maintenance checks. 2. Material Handling * Load materials efficiently, maintaining appropriate weight distribution and stability. * Follow loading instructions provided by supervisors or production plans to meet required tonnage targets. * Handle materials with care to prevent spills, waste, or damage to equipment and surrounding infrastructure. 3. What You'll Do: * Work in collaboration with other sales representatives, sales management, and SSC personnel to generate new and repeat sales. * Generate business by calling on customers via phone, as well as email, personally, or other means. * Answer incoming sales calls and gather market intelligence. * Exercise independent judgment and reasonable discretion in quoting prices for jobs within the scope of provided authority. * Focus on and expand Vulcan's penetration into the broad-based segment of the market comprised of smaller and less visible businesses/contractors that are not routinely touched via traditional sales and marketing activities and efforts. Essential Job Accountabilities: * Identify and prospect new and ongoing business to expand customer sales to a broader base of customers * Pursue leads via bidders lists on projects to gain quoting/booking opportunities (existing and new buyers) * Maintain, develop, and grow relationships with prospective and existing customers, building repeat business with new buyers, and expanding business with existing customers * Manage and maintain a pipeline of prospects, primarily via phone customer contact * Engage in consistent contact, project specific-quote, follow-up, booking, and account management activities * Exercise independent judgment and decision making in providing quotes and pricing to customers within the scope of defined authority * Assess, understand, and meet customer needs. Assist with any issues customers may have up to and including handing off to SSC or getting a follow up call from another team (e.g. credit, billing) * Communicate with other departments to ensure smooth delivery of product, and address customer issues or problems * Respond to new buyer inquiries, quote pricing, and secure business * Act as advocate for smaller customers during execution activities such as trucking (i.e. smaller customers can help dispatchers drive efficiencies with trucks) * Tag team with field reps as closers as appropriate (e.g. - In L.A., SBARS follow up on outstanding quotes to determine status, have pricing latitude to book tons, and actively manage customer list) * Routinely active in the field as deemed by supervisor - customer and job site visits, and association meetings to enhance relationships and understand the market, product applications and to maintain effective market intelligence. * Gather market intelligence via customer interactions and provide useful feedback to other sales representatives, managers and other support personnel. Maintain customer profile with pertinent information that will allow an ongoing, repeatable dialogue with customers * Pursue non-traditional market segments to gain higher margin tons and balance plant inventories (e.g. Landscapers, Bagged Product, etc.) * Use sales systems/tools (including mSales, APEX quote to cash, and Sales Analytics) to understand, measure, and capitalize on sales opportunities; communicate information to other sales teams * Where appropriate and available, bundle and cross sell services * Assist in the communication of companywide and/or local area sales campaigns to assigned customer group. * Develop sales campaign topics targeted at SBAR specific accounts designed to keep cold calling campaign fresh and ongoing. What You'll Do: Ensure Quality Control. Conduct routine testing of in-process materials, raw materials, environmental samples, and finished materials to ensure quality control of products at the point of production, shipping, and arrival upon the job site. Adhere to testing methods, including American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and Department of Transportation (DOT). Document and Report Information. Complete all required reports in a timely and accurate manner, interpreting, documenting, and storing the results. Communicate test results in a timely manner to the supervisor and properly document in a database. Maintain Lab Standards. Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained in and around the lab. Troubleshoot problems and review basic product specifications. Inspect, calibrate, and maintain testing equipment periodically. Monitor Stockpile. Inspect stockpiles, materials sources, and truckloads at plant sites. Monitor the daily construction of the stockpile to ensure that segregation and contamination is kept to a minimum or eliminated. Notify management immediately if contamination is identified. Inspect Equipment and Structures. Conduct routine inspections of the plant equipment in order to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations to maximize production and minimize interruptions. Additional Responsibilities.
