What You'll Do:
Promote Safety. In accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards, take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times.
Perform General Physical Activities. Perform a variety of tasks assisting with the operation of the plant, including using hand tools, cleaning, washing, sweeping, and shoveling materials.
Repair and Maintain Equipment. Assist co-workers in servicing, repairing, and adjusting various pieces of equipment throughout the plant.
Inspect Equipment and Structures. Perform daily inspections and maintenance of plant equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations that maximize production and minimize interruptions.
Operate Vehicles and Equipment. Operate heavy construction equipment or similar types of cleanup loaders to assist with the plant's operation.

What You'll Do:

Repair and Maintain Plant Equipment. Assist with maintenance activities, including greasing, lubricating, and other minor repairs throughout the plant when necessary.

What You'll Do:
Receive and Enter Orders. Receive customer orders and assist customers in identifying proper products needed for specific end uses. Accurately enter orders into the APEX system.

Skills You'll Need:
Education. Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent. Some college is preferred.
Experience. Experience that has included dispatching, customer relations, and construction/transportation is preferred. Must have administrative or sales experience.
Operational Knowledge. Must have knowledge of paving, concrete, and construction materials. Must have knowledge of trucks and transportation requirements and regulations. Must have a solid understanding of the aggregate and asphalt business functions, as well as key drivers for sales, logistics, and customer satisfaction. Must have knowledge of the construction industry to include materials and project management.
Regulatory Knowledge. Must have knowledge of environmental and safety regulations in trucking and terminal operations. Must possess working knowledge of DOT (State and Federal) motor-carrier rules and regulations to allow effective evaluation, representation, and management of Vulcan's interests in its relationships with transportation service providers. Must have knowledge of OSHA and MSHA rules and regulations.
Problem Solving Skills. Must be able to schedule and organize large numbers of people quickly and efficiently.
Interpersonal Skills. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and interact well with all levels of the organization. Must be able to represent Vulcan in a professional manner. Must be able to maintain satisfactory customer relations.

Responsibilities:
* Day-to-day interaction with Element Fleet Management maintaining drivers and company-owned vehicles across the company.
* Set up new drivers, assigning service card PIN numbers and assigning company vehicles associated with each driver.
* Maintain driver and vehicle assignments, very important for costing and mileage assessments.
* Monitor vehicle registrations making sure our vehicles are legally registered for the public roads.
* Set-up facility vehicles and large fleet vehicles for Element service cards to assist with fuel and maintenance.
* Process monthly and daily Element invoices.
* Assist with coordination of various vehicle repairs/maintenance.
* Supply inventory listings and cost analysis to the field as requested.
* Process bi-annual mileage assessments in accordance with IRS regulations.
* Maintain yearly vehicle specifications and work with the vehicle reps to make sure we receive the greatest discount possible.
* Purchase new vehicles while monitoring the fleet capital plan, as well as maintaining all files associated with the new purchases.
* Dispose of old vehicles while working with the Accounting Fixed Assets department to process the remarketing funds and retiring out the vehicle.
* Set up and maintain drivers and vehicles from various acquisitions.
* Various day-to-day tasks such as ordering replacement service cards, maintaining vehicle files (both current and retired vehicles) and maintenance of small fleet titles.
* Additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
* An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business preferred but not required.
* Strong analytical and communication skills are necessary, both verbal and written.
* Excellent skills with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and Oracle are a plus.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing drilling projects along with core logging. The ideal candidate will be strong in both stratigraphy and petrology. The Mine Planning Geologist will report to the Manager of Mine Planning and Geology and will take on additional responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities:
* Geological investigation, research, and prospecting of potential Greenfields along with current quarries.
* Manage investigative drilling projects including diamond core, auger, sonic, & rotary hammer drilling.
* Ability to create geologically detailed core logs.
* Managing quality control testing of the cores, including logistics and communications with the third-party testing labs.
* Updating and inputting geological data and reports.
* Creation of ultimate pit plans, reserves estimate, and 5-year plans (using Auto Cadd, Carlson, & GIS Software).
* Gather, analyze, and document property boundaries, setbacks, easements, zoning, agreements, and other site-specific land use information needed for mine planning.
* Field data collection with surveying equipment and drones.
* Field time will be required along with some overnight traveling.
* Assist in preparing presentations, documents, reports, and maps as needed.
* Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, enhance reserve recovery, reduce costs and impacts, and support operations and public outreach efforts related to safety, efficiency, and cost reduction.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Geology preferred.
* 1-5 years of experience in geology or in a geology-related field.
* Mining, QA/QC, GIS experience, and FG/PG license would be preferred but not required.

Job Responsibilities:
* Responsible for setting up lane closures on high traffic projects in accordance with MUTCD regulations and at the direction of Traffic Control Foreman or Crew Foreman.
* Responsible for safely directing traffic through lane closures and construction project areas.
Qualifications:
* At least 2 years of prior experience working as a traffic control technician
* Prior experience working with traffic control on large-scale highway construction projects - such as interstates and state highways - required.
* Preference given to current ATSSA Traffic Control Technician Certification holders.
* Individual must be dedicated to working safely at all times.
* Experience preferred working road construction in high traffic areas.
* Demonstrated ability to be a leader both in work ethic and workplace safety.
* Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and nights when necessary.
* Team player.
* Willing to be trained to flag/regulate traffic in accordance with MUTCD guidelines.

What You'll Do:

Organize and Plan Production. Plan the daily operation scheduling of plant production to ensure optimal utilization of plant and equipment, personnel and inventory requirements, and work procedures in regards to stripping, mining, processing, stockpiling, loading and shipping. Monitor Processes and Materials. Analyze production and quality control to ensure a quality product is received by our customers. Monitor operational reports to ensure best practices in extraction, processing, stockpiling, and re-handling to ensure product remains within target specifications. Implement and monitor a preventive maintenance program to limit work stoppages, downtime, or other disruptions.
Maintain Compliance. Build a strong safety culture to ensure the plant is in compliance with Vulcan's safety, operations, and environmental policies and procedures. Manage the health and safety of employees to continuously improve the Vulcan's health & safety performance.
Inspect Equipment and Perform Repairs. Assist and organize the work of employees in the daily inspection and maintenance of the plant to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations to maximize production and minimize interruptions.
Skills You'll Need:
Experience. Previous experience in supervising production employees preferably at either an aggregate, sand/gravel or asphalt plant preferred.
Leadership and Management Skills. Must be able to provide strong leadership and mentorship to employees, both direct and indirect reports, to motivate and maintain interpersonal relationships.
Operational Knowledge. Must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of rock and sand mining, ready-mix concrete, and/or asphalt operations and equipment, MSHA regulations, engineering principles and procedures, and quality control systems and processes.
