What You'll Do: Promote Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards. Repair and Maintain Crusher. This position's primary responsibility will include the assembly, disassembly, overhaul, repair and adjustment of crushing and processing equipment. Must have some welding experience Inspect Equipment and Structures. Perform daily inspections and maintenance of the plant equipment in order to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations to maximize production and minimize interruptions. Monitor Processes and Materials. Monitor and review the plant, specifically various aggregate crushing, washing, and screening areas to identify problems and ensure safety and materials compliance. Document and Record Information. Enter and maintain service and lubrication reports regarding the plant equipment used to ensure preventative maintenance is up to date. Perform General Physical Activities. Perform a variety of tasks that assist with the operation of the plant, including cleaning, washing, sweeping, and shoveling materials. Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned. Skills You'll Need: Experience. Previous experience in the aggregate or construction industry is preferred. Knowledge of Best Practices. Knowledge of general principles and practices of industrial crusher maintenance, construction, or aggregate production is preferred. Flexibility. Must be able to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises. We are seeking an experienced Civil/Structural Engineer based in our Irwindale, CA office to lead and manage multiple infrastructure and building projects, including structural steel analysis, design, and construction for heavy industries such as sand and gravel processing plants, plant upgrades, and site improvements. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, proven project management abilities, and the skills to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders. This role involves hands-on engineering and oversight from concept through construction, maintaining effective communication with plant operators, ensuring permit compliance, and building strong relationships with local agencies. What You'll Do: Champion Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards. Inspect plant systems to ensure that they are safe for operating personnel. Manage Standards. Recommend and develop division-wide design standards, as well as Construction Standards for the division. Provide Design Services. Develop structural general arrangement drawings, including both steel and concrete requirements. Develop mechanical general arrangement drawings, including process flow diagrams. Provide all required design services to meet project demands. Ensure all designs comply fully with the appropriate design codes and all applicable local codes. Coordinate Engineering Services. About The Job: This highly skilled position is critical for the efficient and safe operation of the quarry. The Plant Inspector is responsible for thoroughly inspecting all plant equipment, including crushers, screens, conveyors, and other machinery. This involves a deep understanding of how the entire operation functions, identifying potential problems before they occur, and prioritizing repairs to minimize downtime. What You'll Do: Safety and Compliance * Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, including wearing appropriate PPE, and following MSHA/OSHA regulations. * Maintain a high level of situational awareness to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of yourself and others. * Report any safety concerns, incidents, or equipment malfunctions promptly. Preventative Maintenance Guidelines and Schedules * Assist in the develop and implement a robust preventative maintenance program, including: * Regular inspections of all equipment, including visual checks, lubrication checks, and performance assessments. * Identifying and addressing potential issues before they lead to breakdowns. * Scheduling and coordinating necessary repairs and maintenance activities. * Collaborate with plant management to prioritize repairs and maintenance activities to minimize downtime at operation. * Maintain accurate and detailed records of all inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities. Troubleshooting Equipment * Possess in-depth knowledge of quarry equipment, including crushers, screens, conveyors, wash plants, and other auxiliary equipment (e.g., generators, pumps, compressors) * Assist in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions quickly and effectively. * Assist in implementing strategies to improve equipment reliability and reduce overall maintenance costs. Skills You'll Need: Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience: Experience in maintenance, preferably around heavy equipment and machines.
