What You'll Do: Day-to-Day Operations. Provide daily advice and assistance related to employee and labor relations, compensation, benefits, employee development, and adherence to employment laws. Respond to requests for information in an accurate and timely manner. Work with local and/or corporate departments in resolving HR policy issues. Compensation and Benefits. Assist employees in achieving health and financial well-being by advising all HR and company policies and procedures and providing timely documentation, information, and assistance to employees. Assist employees to ensure their benefits are up to date. Maintain Compliance. Support HR Managers and frontline employees regarding company policies, values, and HR program administration (benefits, pay, and salary). Ensure all business and operational policies and procedures are in compliance with all state and federal employment laws and regulations. Oversee Documentation. Ensure all HR records are properly maintained. Prepare and distribute various headcount, termination, and staffing reports. Ensure procedural documentation of assigned processes and procedures is up to date. Ensure all payroll activity is submitted for timely payroll processing. Onboarding Employees. Provide continued improvements for new employee onboarding activities, continuously improving the employee experience. Assist with screening of candidates, recruitment, and overall strategies related to talent. Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned. Skills You'll Need: * 4 years of Previous HR administrative experience. * Bilingual is highly preferred but not required. * Ability to travel around the surrounding San Antonio area, including some overnight stays. * Strong ability to multitask and stay highly organized. Education. BA/BS in human resources, business, psychology, or a related field is preferred. PHR or SPHR certification is preferred. Experience. Minimum of 3 years of HR experience is preferred. Previous experience in an industrial environment is desired. Experience in HRIS, compensation, benefits, and payroll is preferred. Integrity and Decision-Making. Must display the highest commitment to ethical decision-making and integrity. Administration and Management. Must possess proficient document organization skills, including the ability to handle confidential information and materials. Technology Skills. Must have the ability to be fluent in the use of prevailing technologies (e.g. Kronos, Taleo, PeopleSoft, Cypress, and Employment Screening Services)., and helping our employees meet their goals, as a key part of our business. What You'll Do: Know Business Demands. Become thoroughly familiar with the day's business demands by reviewing schedule and individual customer orders and the beginning of and continuously during shifts. Direct Loading and Delivery. Direct Plant Operators, Loader Operators, Drivers, or Batch Plant Operators regarding which material to load on trucks. Direct Drivers regarding which customer job site to receive delivery. Follow Loading Procedures. Weigh Company and non-company trucks on truck scale before and after being loaded with aggregate products. Write or print delivery tickets for all loads of material leaving the yard. Report Issues. Immediately report any delivery problems to service or sales representatives for quick resolution or mitigation. Receive Customer Orders. Receive customer orders, mostly by telephone, but also from drivers on Company radio, service or sales representatives over radio or in person, and occasionally by customers in person. Assist customers in identifying proper products needed for specific end uses. Advise customers on Company order confirmation and delivery policies. Record customer orders on order form and in schedule book as received. Determine Schedules. Tactfully balance cost effective delivery times and rates for Company with customer demands. Make schedule for drivers for next business day in correspondence with customer order requirements. Complete Daily Reports. Complete reports daily on product sales, product allowances and adjustments, delivery problems, and other matters. Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned. Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field. * Experience. 8 years of project management and related experience with experience in a heavy industrial or mining environment. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred. Strong familiarity with project management and engineering software tools, methodologies, and best practices. Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle. Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline. This position will interact with plant personnel to achieve the highest levels of safety, production, efficiency, and housekeeping while meeting goals set forth in the business and profit plans. This position is based at our Medina Rock & Rail Quarry, located in Hondo, TX, and will support our Night Shift operations. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS * Overall responsibility for planning and staffing for operations. * Job duties include directing an hourly workforce in plant areas including the crushers, scrubbers, maintenance and quarry related duties * May be required to work a rotating shift schedule and weekend work * Monitor Plant operations on a daily basis to ensure production and QC standards are maintained. Take corrective action when deficiencies occur. * Monitor and direct drilling and blasting activities.
