Requirements
Each internship opportunity is unique as we incorporate a holistic, well-rounded, customized experience for the students. Fundamental requirements include:
The student will honor the agreed upon work schedule and hours.
The student will participate in departmental meetings and training when appropriate.
The students are requested to share feedback, both verbal and written, regarding their experience. Both during the internship and at the conclusion.
We request the students voice any requests for additional time and/or exposure to their particular area of interest.

Education and/or Experience:
Undergraduate within 1-2 years of graduation, working toward a Bachelor's degree preferably in a business related field of study, and with a competitive academic standing.
Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Office applications (primarily Word, Excel and PowerPoint) with the ability to operate standard office equipment is required.
Strong interpersonal skills to establish rapport with prospective and existing clients and internal associates.
Results oriented with demonstrated skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
Demonstrated ability to resolve problems and present results neatly, with clarity and precision in oral and written form.
Ability to work semi-autonomously in a fast paced environment.
Professional experience in sales or client service environment preferred.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Ability to use computer keyboard and sit in a stationary position for extended periods.
Work is performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
Occasional travel to client sites within driving distance of the workplace.

Responsibilities and Qualifications
Paid internship positions are available and based out of our corporate office in Harrisburg.
Interns will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of experiences through meaningful work assignments, observation opportunities, and social interactions.
In the spirit of Capital Blue Cross, interns will be given the opportunity to complete a service project with one of our community partners
Interns will participate in ongoing company initiatives and be challenged to translate their classroom learning into fresh perspectives that positively impact our colleagues, members, and the communities we serve.
Interns will have the opportunity to formally present the outcomes of their experience and share their unique perspective to our executive and extended leadership team.
In an effort to provide students with feedback and continued investment in their growth, a variety of Capital team members will provide interns with periodic feedback and professional development programming.
The internship program strives to provide interns with formal and informal opportunities for the interns to network with Capital Blue Cross staff and participate in company-wide learning events.
Position Requirements:
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate level program in one of the following majors: Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Business, Marketing or a related field of study.
Exposure to basic Microsoft Excel
Preferred GPA of 3.2 or higher (based on a 4.0 scale or equivalent thereof)
Ability to commit full-time to a 13-week program that runs May 18- August 14
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment and handle multiple tasks.
Excellent analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
Ability to commit to an onsite or hybrid work schedule.
Location:
This position is classified hybrid, which requires onsite work on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
