Partnership * Collaboration with multiple departments to ensure sound reserving practices are in place and maintained * Partners with Actuary in claims reviews and develops communication cadence of loss trends. * Knowledgeable in our targeted industries to identify risks, trends and support needs * Reports to reinsurers and facilitate the prompt collection of reinsurance on those matters where they are accountable. * Ensuring compliance requirements are met through Large Loss Reporting to the WRB organization * Manage vendor relationships by selecting best-in-class vendors for optimal outcomes, monitoring performance, and conducting regular audits to ensure compliance and quality standards. Professional Development * Attends Industry conferences and disseminates industry trends to the claim organization * Maintains appropriate State Licenses which includes completion of Continuing Educations requirements. * Develop relationships with peers across the WRBC operating units to share and learn industry trends. Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience. * 15+ years of software engineering and architecture experience, including 3+ years in a senior architectural role within the insurance, fintech, or highly regulated industries. * Experience implementing or architecting solutions that integrate with claims systems, policy systems, and billing platforms. * Expertise building and integrating enterprise systems with external platforms such as agency management systems/CRMs, workflow engines, and highly available customer portals. * Deep knowledge of modern technology stacks, microservices architecture, and event-driven design. * Strong background in full-stack development, with proficiency in C#, .NET, SQL, and Angular for similar front end framework. * Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail. * Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor technical teams, driving alignment and delivering results in a fast-paced environment. * Insurance knowledge and familiarity with industry workflows including underwriting, claims, and billing processes. * Assumes other tasks and duties as assigned by management. * Experience with best practices for implementing DevOps and CI/CD pipelines. * Currently using TeamCity, BitBucket, and OctopusDeploy. * Experience with SaaS platforms, low-code/no-code solutions, or core insurance systems like Guidewire, Duck Creek, or custom solutions. * Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements for the insurance industry. * Experience designing scalable customer-facing portals and external agency management systems. * Background in a startup or growth-stage company environment.
