A Warehouse Worker is responsible for controlling the movement of materials to and from the storage area and maintaining accurate information regarding the transactions necessary to maintain the inventory control data base. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES * Removes material from trucks and delivers material to correct area. Notes shipping damage on packing list and freight bill. Photographs damage for documentation purposes. Adjusts dock plate to proper level of truck. * Compares identifying information and quantities on the packing slip against the purchase order, counts items for verification, and indicates any discrepancies on packing slip and report to the Parts Manager. * Writes part number, P.O. number, and internal count on parts container and stores material in the proper storage location inside the stores area. * Operates forklift in a safe and efficient manner as needed to complete tasks assigned by the department supervisor. Performs daily inspection of fork truck, changes propane tanks as required. Reports any mechanical or electrical difficulties to maintenance. May also use hand trucks or similar powered vehicles. * Receives material from fabrication or manufacturing departments and marks and stores in appropriate location. * Cycle counts inventory to update and audit on-hand inventory balances as directed by the Parts Manager. * Performs year end physical inventory. * Obtains merchandise from storage areas to fill orders and package outbound customer parts orders to eliminate shipping damage. Knowledge of UPS/Spee Dee and LTL shipments preferred. * Maintains clean working environment. * Completes assigned duties in accordance with safety policies and practices. This includes regard to individual safety, the safety of other team members, and the safe use of equipment in the workplace.
