Tessera seeks an experienced Engineering Technician II to lead mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) maintenance and reliability efforts at the United States Air Force Academy. In this role, you'll champion MEP asset management strategies-integrating CMMS, IoT sensors, and automation tools-conduct advanced system inspections, develop repair plans and technical specifications, and mentor junior technicians. Your expertise will drive preventive maintenance optimization, root-cause analysis, and ISO 55000-aligned asset initiatives to keep critical infrastructure mission-ready.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Configure and optimize CMMS (Maximo), RPA workflows, and BI dashboards for MEP asset management.
Inspect HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, and fire‐protection systems; document issues and recommend corrective actions.
Partner with MEP craftsmen to plan, execute, and verify maintenance tasks aligned with mission objectives.
Develop and maintain job plans, CAD/Revit drawings, and technical specifications for MEP repairs and upgrades.
Lead reliability initiatives-RCA, PM optimization, condition monitoring, ISO 55000-based asset analysis, and project prioritization.
Mentor technicians, enforce USAFA/OSHA safety standards, and coordinate cross‐functional teams.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience as an engineering technician in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems maintenance, reliability, and asset management.
Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Structural Engineering Technology, or related field; or equivalent military technical training required
Bachelor's degree Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Facilities Engineering Technology-or a related field-is preferred.
Proficiency with CMMS tools (IBM Maximo or equivalent), RPA platforms (e.g., UiPath), BI solutions, and IoT sensor technologies.
Skilled in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar CAD software; strong grasp of MEP design principles and applicable building codes.
Demonstrated ability to perform RCA, PM optimization, and data-driven asset performance analysis.
Proven leadership: mentoring junior staff, coordinating federated teams, and communicating technical results to stakeholders.
NICET certification or equivalent engineering-technician credential is a plus

Tessera is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, and forward-thinking Engineering Technician I to drive structural maintenance and reliability initiatives at USAFA. In this entry-level role, you'll integrate and configure CMMS and digital maintenance platforms, conduct thorough building and infrastructure inspections, and assist in crafting job plans, drawings, and repair specifications. You'll also support preventive maintenance optimization and root-cause analysis through data-driven reviews, collaborate with engineers and operational teams to identify high-ROI improvement projects, and help ensure all structural assets remain safe, operational, and mission-ready.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Integrate and configure CMMS tools (e.g., IBM Maximo), mobile platforms, RPA, and BI solutions to streamline asset inspections, work scheduling, and eProcurement.
Conduct structural inspections of buildings and infrastructure, document conditions and measurements, and assist in developing/updating job plans, drawings, and repair specifications.
Support reliability processes-root cause analysis (RCA), preventive maintenance (PM) optimization, asset inventory, condition monitoring (including SMS), and IoT sensor integration.
Coordinate and track RAM eLearning and professional development initiatives, promoting certification and team growth.
Contribute to annual and strategic planning by identifying high-ROI reliability and recapitalization projects.
Prepare routine reports and status updates for site leads, process owners, and the RAM director, and ensure compliance with USAFA and OSHA safety regulations.
Qualifications:
Minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience in structural maintenance, asset management, or reliability engineering
Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Structural Engineering Technology, or related field; or equivalent military technical training required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or related discipline preferred
Familiarity with IBM Maximo or similar computerized maintenance management systems
Basic proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent CAD software
Understanding of fundamental structural engineering principles and building codes
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite; exposure to BI tools or dashboards
Experience with robotic process automation platforms (e.g., UiPath) and IoT integrations
Knowledge of ISO 55000 asset management standards
