We are seeking a highly motivated and detailed-oriented Leader to support Wabtec Legal organization and drive process, strategy, efficiency improvements and technology enhancements. The position will work closely with the Legal team and its business stakeholders, including law firms, vendors, business partners, HR, Sourcing, Finance and IT at all levels of the organization. As the Director, Legal Operations, you will be key in identifying, transforming and managing processes and practices to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the legal and compliance team (" the Legal team ") and control costs; as well as primary responsibility for assessing and implementing AI tools as an integral part of the legal team's strategy and performance. The ideal candidate is experienced with project management and process improvement, tech-savvy, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to juggle competing priorities with a collaborative, transparent, can-do approach across a wide range of projects and activities. This is a role that involves leading and supporting projects across the full range of subject matter supported by the Legal team. You must be able to adapt to changing priorities and business needs and must be proactive in identifying areas of need and generating action plans. In the role of Legal Operations Director, you will: * Assist in development and implementation of AI implementation, process improvement, and technology roadmap for the Legal Team, partnering with internal stakeholders to ensure those priorities become reality. * Collaborate with Legal team members to identify areas of improvement for legal and compliance workflows and processes and propose and implement solutions. * Establish vendor / outside counsel panel program and coordinate outside counsel billing process improvement and automation to manage vendors / outside counsel usage and spend with Wabtec Legal Organizations, including onboarding, e-billing, and payment processes. * Coordinate process improvements and automation to support legal hold management, legal entity support, and document management. * Stay abreast of latest legal technology developments and assess capabilities of solutions relevant to areas such as policy management, business process management, e-signature, board management, e-discovery, compliance management, and subsidiary management * Contribute to the development of Legal and Compliance Department metrics to inform decision making and support senior leadership in developing operational strategies and best practices. Develop, implement, and iterate on appropriate metrics and benchmarking through data analytics to measure the Legal team's performance and efficiency * Assist Legal team members with internal process guidelines and workflows as requested or as opportunities for improvement arise. * Provide guidance on technology and systems to improve team efficiency in partnership with IT team and manage design, rollout, and training for new systems. * Provide system and process training to new users, develop and maintain educational materials to the Legal team. * Harmonize the contract management processes across the group, run day-to-day operations, support the administration of a Contract Life Cycle Management (CLM) tool, processing, signature, and storage of the contracts. * Develop and orchestrate internal Legal Functional communications (e.g., newsletters, best practice sharing, etc.). Help manage Legal All Hands, retreats, etc. * Provide leadership and / or support on other Legal initiatives and activities, as needed.
