How will you make a difference?
As a member of the Components Division, you will be responsible for welding fabricated parts, components, or units at floor stations. You will test and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. You will also use hand and power tools to assemble units according to product specifications. You will be required to identify units that fail tests or tolerance levels and repairs as necessary. Team members may assist less experienced team members with knowledge and expertise.

As a Welder at Trinity, you'll apply appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches using manual, automatic welding, and/or semi-automatic welding equipment. You will use jigs/holding fixtures to lay out pieces to be welded according to blueprints, layouts, schematics, or work orders and uses manual/semi-automatic/automatic welding equipment to join, surface, fabricate and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials. Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications and performs minor maintenance to equipment. What you'll do: Hand weld in all positions, fillet and groove Perform repairs to subassemblies for final product Perform oxy-fuel welding Perform carbon arc welding Conduct one or two NDE tests Follow all safety rules and practices May be involved in safety committees or initiatives Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications What you'll need:
Minimum of 1 year of related experience
Experience with MIG and FCAW is required
FCAW (2G, 3G & 4G)
Ability to weld out of position (vertical & overhead)
May require working above ground (15 ft or more)
Must be able to climb ladders or stairs to reach objects and comfortable with heights
May require working in narrow or confined work space for extended periods of time
Tasks may require physical strength and dexterity
May require extensive kneeling, bending and standing for long periods of time

Under the supervision of the Director of Youth Workforce Development, the TTC Welding Instructor is a key member of the Workforce Development team and will teach general welding skills based on welding certification curriculums. Provide training and certification on GMAW (Gas Metal Arc & Arc Welding) and FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding). Supervise trainees on the importance of maintaining a safe work area based on specific safety guidelines and procedures.
Requirements
The instructor will be responsible for developing appropriate classroom activities to improve the club members' knowledge and skillset in the field of welding. The instructor will also be responsible for providing training on the maintenance of the welding equipment which can and should be used as the hands-on component of classroom instruction. In addition, to the hands-on training, the instructor will be required to organize supervised field trips in order to provide opportunities for the trainees to observe various welding techniques.

CWE and CWI certifications
Other duties as assigned.
Training materials, equipment and tools will be provided by Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis.
Students are ages 16-24
