    This position is responsible for participating in the provision of transportation services to qualified WCCHC patients including reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities, as a part of the spectrum of enabling services. It is expected to work within the program directives of the funding source, within the philosophical framework set by the Board of Directors, and within the WCCHC community. This position actively participates in special activities of the health center. Must be able to safely operate all company vehicles including the 14-passenger ADA accessible Handi-Van style bus with wheelchair lift. Must be able to safely and properly load and unload passengers and secure wheelchair passengers. Able to analyze best routes to use to be effective in providing on time pick-ups and drop-offs. Must be able to provide timely and accurate reports on accidents and incidents, maintain logs, data entry, appointment scheduling, and vehicle maintenance. Safety is priority. What our PTDs do is not just drive, but provide extended, professional services for our passengers from initial greeting to drop-off, and they do this by building relationships with the passengers and having compassion/empathy with giving them the most positive transport experience ever. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 1. High school diploma or equivalent education required 2. Minimum of 2 years' experience in the provision of quality medical transportation services as a Patient Transport Driver, passenger transport or the equivalent 3. Experience and the ability to safely operate various type of passenger-carrying company vehicles including the 14-passenger ADA Handi-Van style bus or equivalent in compliance with federal, state, county and company requirements 4. Current BLS/BCLS certification required and biannual maintenance required. Needs to be approved following AHA guidelines 5. OSHA training in Body Mechanics 6. Experience in a health or human service setting highly desirable 7. Training in or willingness to be trained in defensive driving skills 8. Certified as a Child Passenger Safety Seat Technician and maintains certification 9.
