Post job

Walgreens offers many benefits to its employees, including company health coverage, paid time off, and retirement accounts to full-time employees. As a major employer with a long history in the pharmacy industry, Walgreens has committed to offering a supportive benefits program to full-time, part-time, and seasonal employees.

Walgreens offers multiple health insurance plans, as well as dental and vision insurance. Their health plans also include prescription coverage through Walgreens, wellness programs, paid parental leave, and mental health counseling and resources.

Additionally, Walgreens employees can take advantage of their employee discount for purchasing any item at Walgreens stores. Walgreens employees also have opportunities to invest in a 401(k) retirement savings plan with a 4% company match.

Walgreens employees also have access to a generous paid time off and flexible time off policy. Employees also have paid holidays, paid bereavement time in the event of a family member’s death, and paid time off for jury duty.

Walgreens Health Insurance

According to former employees, Walgreens offers great, comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance packages to full-time employees and their dependents. If you work more than 30 hours per week at Walgreens, you are eligible for these benefits, as federal law requires that employers provide health insurance options to all full-time employees.

Walgreens provides two options for Consumer-Driven Health Plans. One of these options is the Walgreens Health Reimbursement Account, which allows the company to pay a portion of employees’ healthcare needs. There are also two available dental plans and two available vision plans.

Walgreens Retirement Plans

Walgreens offers profit sharing and stock purchase options to eligible employees. This includes a 401(k) plan with matching contributions and an employee stock purchase plan.

Still, the profit-sharing retirement plans are a good option for helping save to meet your retirement goals. The 401(k) plan takes savings directly from your paycheck, which many employees prefer to manual saving.

According to former employees, the 401(k) matching rates are about average for a company of this type. The matching rate depends on how much you put into the 401(k) with an upper limit of 4%.

Walgreens Employee Discount

Walgreens also offers good discounts to all full-time and part-time employees. For most items, not including alcohol and other restricted items, Walgreens offers a 15% discount to employees. For Walgreens-branded items, employees receive a 25% discount.

Walgreens Paid Time Off (PTO)

All Walgreens employees are eligible for PTO. The rate at which employees collect PTO hours depends on their specific position, how long they have been working there, and their average weekly hours. Vacation hours and PTO are both accrued at the same rate.

Your ability to take PTO when you want depends largely on your specific store and their needs during that day and time.

Walgreens Parental Leave

Full-time employees at Walgreens are eligible for parental leave. New mothers and fathers get eight weeks of fully paid parental leave, as well as three additional weeks of unpaid parental leave.

Walgreens Education

Walgreens offers a pharmacy education assistance program to provide financial assistance for the pre-pharmacy schooling requirements and the pharmacy specific-schooling. To apply to this program, contact your district manager.
