It's easy to get a part time job at Walgreens. They provide a 15% employee discount and 25% for store brand items. Most aspects of the job can be learned on the job regardless of who teaches you.
Job onboarding provides poor training and access to training materials beyond onboarding materials are hidden by management for fear of unpaid training liability. Walgreens teaches new employees to value liability risk over everything, even when it actively hurts the companies stated values and goals. Operations leadership do not like people who ask questions and you have to work around them to get what you need like basic tech support. Robberies common in the city locations and we receive no support from corporate. Wage increases are based on a very small pot, do not expect raises yearly unless corporate is actively trying to retain you. Walgreens actively incourages turn over of 25% as written policy stated in the break room. They'd rather you leave than improve the company.
Employee discount and 401k program are good considering the job.
I love helping patients understand their medicine as best as I can as a tech. I enjoy
What I’m not happy with is it’s a fast paced setting and I was never properly trained on their computer systems. Certain problems can’t be explained untill the error comes up but if I have a question sometimes no one is able to help right away while people are waiting. I try to help the patient relax while the issue is being resolved.
I like the hands on experience leaning about the prescription fulfillment process. I have been studying on my own for the PTCB exam so I’m gaining a better perspective on what the medications are used for. That is what I’m truly interested in.
I enjoyed being a cashier. I looked forward to interacting with the customers and my team members.
I fractured my pelvis in seven places and ended up losing my job. I had surgery and I am all healed. I do have a lifting limit of 25 lbs.
I was a part time employee. The manager worked with my schedule to make sure that I did not work more than 6 hours per shift. I'm looking to work around 20 hours per week.
Company stopped caring about store managers a long time ago. Average manager works 60 hours per week, often going weeks or months without a single day off. Salary is now one of the worst in the industry. Once a store manager reaches his top pay, he or she will NEVER receive a raise. I know store managers that haven't received pay increases for 9 years.
Met my wife at Walgreens

Hardly anything; the people I worked with were the saving grace
Reckless upper management; a drunk for a CFO

Employee discount.
Low wages, unreasonable requirements, lack of backing from some managers, unfair wage distribution between new (make more) and older worker (paid less than new). Company keeps cutting hour yet adding additional tasks to be done.
