The Publications Manager leads the development and production of the museum's publishing projects and platforms-from exhibition catalogues and the annual report to Walker Magazine and The Reader, our digital platform for cultural criticism and creative writing.
This is a hybrid role that combines editorial judgment, project management, commissioning, and writing copy. The position requires a keen eye for storytelling, fluency in contemporary art and design discourse, and deep experience producing publishing content across formats and channels. This role is both strategic and hands-on, shaping how the Walker communicates with the public, the field, and future audiences. As the steward of the Walker's award-winning publishing program, the Publications Manager plays a critical role in shaping how the institution documents and shares its work with a wide public.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
Print, Digital, and Institutional Publishing
Lead the production of all Walker-published catalogues and artist books, maintaining the institution's reputation for editorial and design excellence.
Working with the Marketing team serve as managing editor of
Walker Magazine
, gathering content from across departments and stakeholders, developing story ideas, and editing features in collaboration with internal and external contributors.
Oversee as its Editor-in-Chief,
The Walker Reader
, the Museum's online publishing platform. This includes but is not limited to commissioning writers, illustrators, and photographers; editing submissions; and aligning content with curatorial, marketing, and public engagement strategies.
Oversee the annual report, including content development, editing, and production coordination.
Manage publishing timelines, production schedules, budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships.
Write and edit institutional and editorial copy as needed across print and digital platforms.
Editorial Strategy + Content Development
Ensure all editorial work meets high standards for clarity, voice, accessibility, consistency, and impact to the field.
Work closely with the Digital Strategist to ensure publishing efforts support institutional storytelling goals and are optimized for web and social platforms.
Overseeing publishing ecosystem across print and digital publishing to ensure cohesive slates of projects.
Commissioning + Collaboration
Commission writers, visual contributors, and cultural critics.
Work cross-functionally with curatorial, design, marketing, and development teams to align content with institutional goals and exhibition timelines
Act as a bridge between internal teams and external collaborators
Administration + Workflow Management
Manage publication budgets, freelance contracts, and vendor coordination.
Oversee production workflows and approvals across departments.
Use digital project management tools, AirTable, to track timelines, budgets, communicate with stakeholders, and manage assets.
WHAT WE NEED IN YOU
Minimum Requirements
5+ years of experience in publishing, journalism, or art/design museum editorial roles
Strong writing and editing skills, with experience developing publishing content for both general and specialized audiences
Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects from concept to delivery
Knowledge of contemporary art and design fields
Experience with both print production and digital publishing workflows
Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, Adobe Creative Suite, and CMS systems such as Wordpress.
Experience commissioning and editing longform writing and visual content.
Background in art history, design, cultural criticism or art's journalism or publishing
Commitment to accessibility, clarity, and equity in publishing
Preferred Skills

The Installation Support Technician is a part time role providing staff support for the Collections and Exhibition Management Department. Individuals in this role will report to the Associate Director of Exhibition Installation (ADEI). Project assignments will focus on supporting activities related to the preparation, installation and deinstallation of exhibitions, management of the Walker's permanent collection, the maintenance and cleaning of sculptural artworks in the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, Walker hillside, and Terraces (including the surrounding grounds).

Responsibilities
* Develops program and activities reflective of resident interests:
* Assesses resident areas of interest and need. Designs and implements programs to meet identified psychosocial needs of residents. Develops activity care plan based on resident areas of interest and needs and tracks resident engagement. Documents as required.
* Ensures, through observation and evaluation, that residents maintain a high level of engagement and independence.
* Plans, conducts and/or coordinates activities and special events.
* Orders and maintains supplies needed for activities.
* Encourages resident participation.
* Communicates and coordinates events in conjunction with other facility activities.
* Hires, trains, and supervises Life Enrichment Assistants.
* Assists in meeting the psychosocial needs of residents:
* Promotes independence of residents by offering choices and encouraging self-help skills.
* Encourages and assists residents in developing the confidence to participate in group activities.
* Assists residents in developing relationships and effectively socializing.
* Reports change in resident attitude, mood or physical status to appropriate staff.
* Communicates with family members as appropriate.
* Evaluates activity care plan ensuring that activities are completed appropriately and are suitable to reach and maintain the highest level of engagement and independence.
* Provides new resident orientation/assessment to determine interests/needs to design appropriate activity care plan.
* Coordinates community volunteers:
* Adheres to volunteer onboarding policies and procedures.
* Develops and maintains system to effectively utilize volunteers to enhance programs designed to meet psychosocial needs of residents.
* Recruits, trains and assigns volunteers within the building.
* Provides volunteer recognition for work performed.
* Assesses need for volunteer services and assigns as needed.
* Supervises volunteers to maintain a high quality of service.
* Develops relationships with local organizations and promotes their involvement with the facility.
* Other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to:
* Follows and stays updated on relevant policies and procedures.
* Implements work guidelines and suggestions to assure staff clearly understand and can follow and perform activities.

**Responsibilities**
The primary purpose of the Undergraduate Internship is to provide an intern with relevant field experiences in their chosen field of study. One or more mentors will be assigned to the intern to provide instruction, guidance and to assess performance. The intern is responsible for observing the functions and processes of the assigned work unit. The Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at Mayo Clinic is seeking an exceptional principal investigator in the field of Head and Neck Cancer Diseases.
The ideal candidate will be an outstanding scholar with a record of exceptional achievement and demonstrated ability to for successful collaborations. The ideal candidate will be a mid-career Ph.D trained basic scientist with a track record of substantial extramural funding including NIH or NIH-equivalent funding.
To align with our Head and Neck Disease Group (DG) priority of bringing cutting edge discoveries to our patients through advanced clinical trials, we are seeking a translational scientist with expertise in biomarkers of Head and Neck cancer/pre-cancer, immuno-oncology, cellular engineering in head and neck cancer, genetics, virology, and/or cancer vaccine development. We seek to identify an early to mid-career investigator who would collaborate with our DG multi-disciplinary team, would be able to serve as a mentor to promote junior faculty development and grant writing, and would provide much needed insight and internal know how to advance the science of head and neck cancer at Mayo Clinic.

Clinically we have several highly functioning multidisciplinary clinics and teams which are able to accrue patients effectively and rapidly to prospective clinical trials with significant experience in a wide range of sample collection and rapid processing.
