You do not have pros at the Fairfield, CA location. Associates walk away and hide when they see someone is approaching to ask a question, something that has happened to me on many occasions. They talk on their phones in a different language (Philippine) only one hand is free, and 6-8 people are in line! Disengaged with the workplace and customers. Workers cannot clearly communicate in English and its very annoying repeating one's self two or three times, even then you have to walk away before you say something. In addition, another branch in Richmond, CA, is slightly better but I purchased a HART weed trimmer; used and retaped for sale. On sale. I asked the checker if I could inspect the boxed item and was denied. Another lady, I assume the assistant manager, told me the same thing. I asked her to check it for me. The long box was on the conveyor belt. She stepped in front of it and with a pair of scissors, proceeded to cut through the clear tape that sealed the returned box. She then held on to the box, and with her back to me, said, in a not-so-nice tone), "Here, take a look". I pulled the long, tubular tool out to check for any fractures or other defects. It seemed ok and not used. I sensed she was impatient so I said Ok while she walked away without a word. Very Rude. I paid for the item, $78, and left. I live 32 miles away and once home, I got ready to assemble the weed eater when I noticed the charger and the battery were missing! I tried to call the store several times between 3:00-4 pm, but no one answered. There were two rings and then the hang up tone. This was the second part of my experience. The first occurred two days prior, when I purchased an identical unit, by HART, from a nearby 8 miles) Walmart a week earlier. On that occasion, all the parts were present and the unit was on sale, new & sealed. After assembly, I tested the unit briefly in my garage, to make sure it worked. I used the enclosed battery which had some juice it and it worked ok. The charger and battery were secured by cardboard at the bottom of the 4 ft-long box, almost undetectable. The next day I tried to trim the grass, and about 5 minutes into it, The unit began smoking and the motor seized. I examined the unit and found some of the plastic housing, had shattered which caused the string to become entangled around the spindle and into the motor compartment, still smoking. I spent a few minutes untangling the mess, recovering the removable cap which came off during the i

The pay is not up to par with the amount of work and effort my coworkers and I go through on a daily basis.
I have yet to come across any.
Having a job is a blessing in and of itself. But thus far this job is way too chaotic and stressful for what we have to deal with from both customers and managers.
The leadership is very much do as I do and not as I say which I love. But the favoritism and amount of back stabbing brings down the morale between coworkers. The work life is hectic because so many attempts to kiss managers backsides to gain good favour but overall it's detrimental to work life altogether.
Giving employees more perks. Letting things as simple as allowing associates to gain their discounts faster. Allowing new hires to switch jobs if one isn't to their liking without having to wait it out in a job they dislike or with a group of people they dislike. It's disheartening and cruel.
I never had an interview. Never was able to negotiate my pay or anything. I'm a veteran and I had no say in my pay, which is just $14.00/hr which is the lowest I have been paid in so long.
Terribly. I am a veteran and I constantly go above and beyond in everything I do yet I still make just enough to survive. It's humiliating.
Oh it's diverse and beautiful.
Helping customers when they need help finding things. Answering any questions I can and meeting my numbers as a digital personal shopper.
If you work there long enough you acrue mad amounts of PTO and PPO. And you do get some really cool customers that make your job enjoyable
Instead of seeing the potential in people, teaching and nurturing those qualities. It's easier for them to have feedbacks and coachings! Which in essence. Makes you a constant target! Same goes if you can't talk to upper management. And decide to call ethics. That makes you an even bigger target! Also if your really good at what you do in one specific area. Your kind of stuck there. Since you'll probably pick up some other slackers pace/work. Have never seen so many salaried managers have quote "under the radar" flings with female employees! And lastly. Being micromanaged to death!
Break, lunch, break, home. Driving with the windows down. No radio. Cause I'm burnt out on that piped in music.
Leadership and management practices need a complete overhaul! In fact. They make most processes more complex then they need to be. Keep that machine simple!
Listen more! Your employees are your backbone!
Be yourself. Answer honestly. And keep up pace when walking on a store tour.
I still make less than I did in 1994!
Emploees. After you work a 40hr week. Your co workers become your work family. Your happy when their happy. Your sad when their sad. Same goes for the whole range of emotions.
Availability to lives basic needs
*Poor management and leadership *Poor communication / inability to communicate with fellow team members who cannot speak English *Poor pay *"Pass the buck" mentality *If you're a hard worker, you will be worked into the ground in no time
Hour long lunch
They're present on the job. (No knowledge known of the CEO.)
*Hiring people who can understand one another. *Holding ALL team members to same standards. *Ensure positivity starts at all management levels. *Livable pay wage *Equality for all
*Punctuality *Positivity *Dress for the position you eventually want to be, not where you will be starting.
Piss poor
The "diverse demographics" contribute to a more negative and distrusting work environment when non-English speaking foreigners manage themselves, and aren't held to the same standards as those who do the brunt of the work. It was the most amazingly sad and negative experience I've ever had in my life. Akin to reality being a bad dream. The most poorly organized, managed, and ran workforce in my life.
Break & lunch.... I'm not kidding.
Educating yourself to become whatever you choose is the highlight of Walmart.
Choosing and retaining poor leadership which impacts work experience.
My favorite perk was being able to learn from some great people and teaching/ training the best of the best.
Their timing for solving issues and the ability to be discrete.
I would remove all the bad apples systematically and consistently.
I am well versed in Walmart's way of business. I have combed through this company for so long it has always been hard to be tripped up by such an amazing company. Walmart prepares you by just being.
Walmart is average at times and above when you are experienced.
Diversity means something different for me. When that word is used it tries to cover up blacks in equality to whites. Walmart is very diverse, there is still a struggle with in equality to reach to the top.
My co-workers. especially the ones I mentored.
Very inclusive environment, lots of extra perks for employees to consider an evaluating wages.
Minimum wages could be higher so that adults can earn a livable salary
The overall environment and all of the perks that are offered to me as an employee
The customers and employee relations
Cutting hours special treatment to favorite employees by co mangers
Clean area, discount card, able to help people
Be yourself, not a know it all.
Listen to employees
Some changes are good but some are not. They to be in the trenches more to see what really goes on.
Average I think.
Could be better. My former job was 30 years for the state of PA so was completely different
Working with friends, less tension
Ok. Pay isn't enough and communication with management regarding training and update issues is nil.
See above
Not as many as old days. Food, discount, bonus, holiday pay.
I was going to get the job for a consistent income in my area. ............
Unaware as I be there a couple of decades. I do know the pays to low.
Ok. In the area I live the isnt much diversity except for college students.
Are my co-workers, excluding the upper management. We become a family.
There are flexible working hours and you get a staff discount
No career progression
Staff discount
Well, they leave the staff alone. Which is good.
Being more flexible with working hours and better pay
Turning up
In my opinion it's comparable with other retailers
I see a broad demographic at Wlamart
Steady check
They’re not faithful to employees. Store managers change on a regular so there’s no loyalty. Point system only allows you five and one points falls off every 6 months.
401k was a plus
They lead the company in the right direction and believe in giving people chances to grow within the company.
They to make better selections of their managers. Putting the right people in position can take your company further that you could imagine.
Dressed to impress and went in with the positive attitude of readiness. And a prayer
They pay alright but it takes so long to build. And when they started with new recruits a few years ago they were making what veterans were making without the hard time.
It was okay no complaints really.
Working with some of the older co workers that I had build a bond with because we kept each other going.
In my experience Walmart the pay good but nowadays it’s kind of hard to afford the life with it
It’s good to have deferent demographics in your work area
Good wages. Good benefits.
I've seen people struggling, making $15/hr, laid off for simple mistakes. I've seen very few mangers actually trying to help their people succeed and be better.
Pay and 6% 401k match.
They are trying to improve but have poor interpersonal skills.
Requiring something like a Dale Carnegie course on How to win friends and influence people.
Knowing my field.
Slightly above average.
Question is not relevant.
Honestly, quitting time.
You can work if you want, hard as you want, do as good a job as you are able.
Don't pay diddly squat. Don't appreciate if you are doing a great job, don't appear to give two hoots if you're not doing a good job. Hour long lunch break during an 8 hour (now 9 hour) shift is ridiculous. Who can't work 8 hours without a 1 hour break?
None.
Pay a decent wage for doing a great job.
Nothing. They are failing, thus the high turnover rate.
No preparation required. It's not a great place to work nor a hard place to get hired.
I have no other experience in retail.
There is plenty of diversity across all demographics.
Doing the best I can.
Paramount plus and stock purchasing
Overworked, underpaid, under appreciated, managers only care about profits and their bonus. They reduced their hiring pay which lowers the standards of people who apply
FreeWalmart plus
You don’t really have to prepare, they hire anyone
Re interview all your managers and see if they actually have the same values they had when they started.
Have no clue who the CEO is and leadership is only out for themselves
Very low. Minimum wage where most other places pay $2-4 more than minimum wage starting out
It’s good
Clocking out
Great experienceb
Standing too long on my feet early. R
Earning rewards for best employee of the month
Loved working around peoplr
Offering promotions in career goald
In person interview
A paycheck. That is honestly it. The place has nothing to do with the vision Sam Walton had.
Management, talking down to associates. Unreal expectations of what is able to be accomplished by the too few associates. No actual reviews for associates. Same measly 2% across the board no matter how hard you work.
Discount and Paramount +
There honestly is nothing at this moment. They aren't interested in the associates, only their bonuses.
Go back to Sam Walton's respect, care and concern for the employees.
Walked into tgecstire and asked for hiring manager.
The starting pay has actually decreased since I've been there, making it much harder to attract quality employees.
The organization is very open to diversity
Getting my check and leaving
Its a good job for the pay they give
Uneven scheduling and constantly changing management
The one hour lunch
I cant say, the leadership in our Walmart only goes up to the store manager
More direct communication between Maintenance and the Store Manager
By being confident in what I believe in
Its higher than minimum wage
Its diversity mirrors the town i live in
Making peoples day better in any way possible, no matter the person
None
Many
Stable company to work for with a safe work area possible chance for advancement
Don't have any cons
Just being me.
Insurance
15percent discount card that isn't much
never got bonus or promotion even though we did everything right
none
just being you're self
being honest and transparent about goals within business and being fair and consistent
nothing positive
it was not enough and felt short handed
it was good but could been better
being around like minded co workers who always to improve and be better
Walmart doesn't care about it's employees. Walmart only cares about it's profit. It's moto is save money live better. Save money for Walmart and never pass on to it's employees
Bad experience
There is no benefit
Very flexible with hours/scheduling
No overtime opportunities
Accrued PPTO helped a ton with emergencies
Leadership team was not perfect by any means and they struggled with high ups even understanding what was going on in the day to day
Training high ups on the lower positions needs
I set myself up to answer honestly and 100% “me”
It’s probably higher than average by a good bit
Diversity is very much represented
Feeling accomplished at the end of the day
great staff, everyone is nice and caring and really likes their job
you see everyone you know
my discount
he really cares, wants the absolute best for his employees, wants the best goal
market the prices towards college students during school months
work up the courage
Great experience working with my team and colleagues management for 18 years!
The distance between home and work.
Bonus, health care, paid sick leave and vacation time.
The consideration of their team players.
By being more diverse.
Reading, talking with other managers, training.
Comparable to others in the same position.
Equal opportunities.
The people and comment to the position.
Structure
Nothing to complain
Nothing. They cut your hours so you don't get benefits
Walmart had an abundance of opportunity for career growth.
Walmart is a very large company. The Walmart Global Tech segment which I fell under was run more like a startup, and that caused a lot of churn at times.
Work from home options
They were present, having multiple town halls and such meetings to ensure connection with colleagues.
Stability is important to feeling secure in a job space.
I polished my resume and portfolio. I went in as my authentic self.
It was more than the industry average.
Walmart Global Tech was a diverse and inclusive environment.
The ability to define my own schedule and know that I had supportive managers brought me joy.
Pay, Benefits, comaraderie, just a great place to work and remain there
Benefits and pto & ppto
A lot of work
My favorite benefit is great pay easy Money
Toxic atmosphere, disrespectful management.
First to view clearance items.
Nothing.
I would like to see leadership and management who sincerely care about the employee experience and environment instead of the numbers and their bonuses.
Not much preparation. They asked the usual questions.
It's finally up to industry average.
It's good at my store.
My team leaders and coworkers in my department.
It’s pathetic. While The Waltons are sitting around the pool. They could never live off of what they pay there people. Hire more people to check out.
Can’t think of one!
Can’t think of one. One worker checking out people is so stressful on them. Don’t be so cheep. Need more check out people. More money!!
Nothing. They have blinders on.
Pay better! More help at check out. They are stressed.
Wouldn’t work for you!
Please!
Really!
Personally, nothing at wall mart brings me joy. Very sad for all your workers. But you come from entitlement.
Great hours. Good management. Management verbalizes my doing a good job often. Great work family feeling!
Hard to get PTO approved even with month advance notice.
My work schedule. I'm 5-2 with Monday & Tuesday off.
Good camaraderie.
Not sure. I've only been here a little over 2 years. I don't have any complaints.
Give myself a pep talk. Have questions ready. Familiar with position am seeking.
It's competitive.
Diversity is well represented here at walmart.
The affirmations. Makes me want feel wanted and needed and a valuable member of the team. The customers. I am told almost on a daily basis how good I am with acknowledging them, being helpful and always always how powerful my smile is.
Good starting job and learning basics.
Managers and low pay with little to no benefits.
Savings account
The CEO/ Store manager is very nice and easy to talk to.
Make workers have more freedom and not the same task every day.
Think about questions I would get asked and memorize the answers and dressed business casual.
Good hours, part time and full-time. so many departments to work
Lots of people around you and screaming children, a lot of people there are really lazy and don’t put the initiative into their job, but somehow they keep their that’s
Half more people hired with different languages and then making the other normal employees. I only know one.
It’s not bad, but it takes forever to get it. They like to daily Dally the higher-ups thathave to deal with that.
It’s not bad I feel like it’s a good mix a good 50-50
Being able to stock free and be able to do it p op without people going behind me and fixing it Lol
Mostly Friendly coworkers
Management sucked, employees are not treated fairly, equally, or with respect
I found friends
Didn’t get one
Nothing
Treat customers and employees with respect and equality
the pay sucked
There was no diversity
Seeing my friends and helping friendly costumers
I went to work there cause the pay was good but after almost 20 years of service there's young people coming in making about the same or close to me
I get to travel to other stores and work which I enjoy
When I get my payout in February. From the time off I didn't take wish it came at Christmas time would be nice cause we don't get no Christmas bonus
Met some wonderful people. You can actually build a career working at Walmart.
Co-workers
Job enhancement
What I liked about the CEO and the leadership team is that they were hands on.
I wouldn't
Costumers love to talk to you and be friendly.
Working on holidays.
Discounts on small things like a bag of chips.
Very nice man and women ,very wise
Love everyone one and everything
Get ready ,get sharp look nice make sure I’m confident
About average
I’m confident
Smiling and talking with people.smiling ,getting to work.
Education and room for advancement
Retail is not an easy job. Customers can blame you for their bad mood. And we have to take it
W+ the people I work with. Lots of opportunities available.
Down to earth. Seems to really care about our success.
I think Walmart is doing a great job. Keeping with their core values. Open to more ideas and learning what needs to be done
Study the job description so I know what is expected. Making sure I share the areas I have improved in and what more I want to do
That I meant a lot of good people
They were reallying on me to much
It would have to be the people
It is great
Get more staff for walmart
I made sure I had everything neat and organized
A few decent benefits
Time frame to get your work done is to tight. To many things to do
Over 18$ to start
Mosty good co-workers always a few people doing less than the minimum. Good mrdical coverage.
Trying to deal with to many tasks and too few associates. Especially
Pay on time 40 hours
No reward for working hard and productive
Regular same as every where else
Just regular not anything to be proud of or crazy about it
Pay more please compared to the other retailer like Target Kroger Tom Thumb we at Walmart have to work harder the shelves deeper and higher to stock
Not bad
Nothing
Just myself for being excercise while working there. Finish the job and go home ready for next day working. They pay nothing so just try to work so yourself can be active
Not much
over time, and working as team
being late from work, and arguing with boss
Discount card, that is every important.
I like that department I'm in now its less stressful to a point, I like my team leads .
When I was in maintenance my stress level was so bad it caused my to have high blood which I have to be on medication for, my coach sucked, never listened to complaints, or ideas I had to make the department run better,
Benefits I like is the 10% discount though it should be at least 15-20% and be able to be used on food all year.
Nothing don't know them or ever met them
Having coaches and store managers actually listen to the employees, do stuff for us like they are supposed to
I didn't I had the experience I needed
Sucks in maintenance I should have been paid more for my experience in cleaning plus doing the work of 3 shifts in 8 hrs
It's good
Being in a department where I am recognized for my hard work daily, and working with people I can get along with
The pay is not up to par with the amount of work and effort my coworkers and I go through on a daily basis.
Close to home not to far to drive
Not having back to back days off or weekends
Hour lunch
No comment
People having better attitudes
I have years experience and common sense
Minimum
It doesn’t bother me either way
I get no joy at being at work except getting my paycheck
A select few coworkers and most of the customers are amazing. They are mostly great
Management sucks
They are never around, so it would be difficult to say whether we like them or not
Stop allowing team leads and coaches to treat associates like crap
It was a phone interview
It’s ok. But not enough for the fact they want you to do the job of three people and barely pay you for your own job
They try to get rid of anyone culturally different. It is as though if you aren’t black, you are treated so badly (from management ) that you end up quitting
Not much
