General Summary
This position is expected to travel throughout the region - including WA, OR, and ID.
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in excavating and grading right-of-way for construction of projects, such as highways, streets, drainage ditches, and dams.
Essential Job Accountabilities
Measures distances from reference points to locate boundaries of construction site.
Directs work crews engaged in operating vehicles and machines to dump, scrape, and spread dirt.
Verifies curvature of graded surface, using hand level.
Performs other duties as described under Supervisor.
May supervise bituminous paving crew (Supervisor, Asphalt Paving.
May supervise work crew engaged in operating machines to tamp, roll, and smooth surface for subgrade of highway and be designated Supervisor, Fine Grading.
May supervise workers engaged in laying drainage tile and concrete and metal culverts, and be designated Supervisor, Culvert Laying.
May be designated according to activity of workers supervised as Supervisor, Dumping; Supervisor, Rough Grading.
Education
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience
Work Experience
The amount of specific job training required to learn the techniques, information, and facility needed for average performance in this position is from 2 to 4 years.

Position Summary

+ Pre-plans work activities with Superintendent to develop best means and methods, including safety action plans

+ Conducts daily briefing with the crew to review production goals, performance feedback, safety and schedule, and hazards, and to solicit feedback from the workers

Position Summary
Reporting to the Superintendent or Project Manager, the Foreman is responsible for managing and directing a crew of workers to deliver a successful project by meeting or exceeding corporate and project goals for safety, quality, profitability and schedule, resulting in extreme customer satisfaction.
Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties
+ Pre-plans work activities with Superintendent to develop best means and methods, including safety action plans
+ Reviews all contracts, project documentation, and plans to ensure that the work in the field is built to the most recent specifications.
+ Plans the day-to-day operations on assigned projects and ensures that proper resources are in place for the timely completion of work, including labor, tools, equipment, and material.
+ Takes responsibility for crew performance as it relates to company goals, safety audits, and following company policies and procedures. Initiates follow-up action as necessary including training, orientation, discipline, etc.
+ Conducts daily briefing with the crew to review production goals, performance feedback, safety and schedule, and hazards, and to solicit feedback from the workers
+ Maintains a dedication to safety at all times by modeling, providing education, and enforcing safe work practices and company policies and procedures.
+ Ensures that proper safety equipment is available and used by all field personnel.
+ Communicates with customers and ensures a high level of customer satisfaction.
+ Communicates with contractors or subcontractors to coordinate work, goals, etc.
+ Trains and motivates workers.
+ Performs a variety of administrative tasks such as production reports, timesheets, equipment logs, inspection reports, change orders, and updating project files.

Required Skills and Qualifications
+ High School Diploma/GED required
+ Must be 18 years or older
+ A minimum of 2 years Track/ railroad foreman experience
+ Knowledge of all aspects of track construction and maintenance
+ Ability to read and understand project specific documents including schedules, standard railway plans and specifications
+ Ability to keep records and to prepare work and time reports.
+ Ability to understand and efficiently carry out instructions
+ Ability to supervise the work of others and clearly communicate instructions to crew.
+ Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work being performed.
+ Strong client relation skills
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

About this Role
Oregon Aerial Construction (OAC) is looking for an Aerial Foreman for our Portland, OR location.
The Aerial Foreman is an independent, skilled position in all phases of telecom aerial construction and repair. The position entails using problem-solving skills and creating job estimations. Job management, pole climbing, loading and unloading equipment and materials are all part of the daily workload. The Foreman will also be responsible for training ground hands on proper procedures and will oversee the job site.

What You'll Do
Responsibilities:
Read blueprints and drawings to understand or plan the repair or pole transfer.
Cut, assemble and install cables, lashing, mounts, arms, bonds and guy wires.
Install and maintain fiber, cable and phone equipment.
Locate and repair issues quickly.
Place, transfer and remove poles.
Perform all City and D.O.T. requirements: Pre-trip, Vehicle condition report, etc.
Pre-trip: Check vehicles before operating for proper functioning of equipment and safety devices.
Vehicle condition report: Accurately documenting the condition of vehicle.
Responsible for cleaning and maintaining assigned vehicles up to standards of appropriate levels of cleanliness.
Utilize tablets to complete proper ticket paperwork for billing and invoice purposes.
Load materials in truck as required.
Perform related work as required.
What You'll Bring
Qualifications:
Possess a valid CDL driver's license with a good driving record.
High School Diploma from accredited school or its equivalent.
Two (2) years of experience in aerial construction or telecom trade.
May be required to work long, or alternate hours, as necessary for the efficient operation of the business.Skill in the operation of assigned equipment.
Ability to apply preventative maintenance and service to motor vehicles and motorized equipment and to make minor adjustments to correct performance malfunctions in the field.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous construction experience, preferably in the telecommunication industry.

Job Summary: Knife River Idaho is looking for a self-motivated individual who is eager to contribute to the success of our company as a Grade Foreman. The Foreman will create a safe and secure work environment for all project employees by reducing exposure to work risks and will develop a strong understanding of job costs, striving to complete every project under budget and on time.
This position will require out of town travel, sometimes for long periods of time, and will require availability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends.

Minimum Qualifications:
* Five (5) years or more preferred in underground utility excavation and general construction operations.
* One (1) year or more managing/supervising construction crews
* Have verifiable experience as an equipment operator
* A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred
* Valid driver's license
* Must be able to work day shifts and night shifts. Shifts may vary according to project demands
* Must be able to work in all weather conditions
* Must be willing to travel if job requires
* Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
* Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of safety rules, regulations, construction layout, and project specifications.
* Understand underground utility work and operate a wide range of construction equipment, including performing basic equipment maintenance.
* Supervise a crew of one or more employees, depending on the project scope.
* Collaborate with Supervisors and Project Managers to develop and execute effective work plans and schedules to meet project goals.
* Prepare or assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly job tracking documentation and employee time records.
* Maintain consistent attendance and a strong safety record, setting a positive example for the team.
* Perform steady to intermittent physical labor, including standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, walking on uneven terrain, lifting, carrying, pushing, shoveling, and raking.
Must be hard working, dependable and be able to perform manual labor for approximately 80% of the work shift.
