AECOM's Water Business Line is seeking a creative and highly motivated CAD Designer specializing in grading and earthwork design for immediate employment. This is a technical role working with engineers and project managers on a variety of projects within the Dams, Mining and Water Resources markets. Candidates can expect a diverse set of project challenges focused on heavy civil grading for large mines, dams, access roads and stormwater management.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for interdisciplinary collaboration in leading civil design, producing custom solutions, mentoring mid-level and junior staff, and developing calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications for the civil design work on exciting and complex projects.
**Job Description**
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D through release 2024, with an emphasis on surface modeling capabilities.
+ General understanding of dam grading design and surface modeling for earth-fill, rockfill, conventional concrete and RCC embankments, quarries, spillways, outlet works, foundations and drains.
+ General understanding of mine grading design, surface modeling and site development for tailing storage facilities, embankments, seepage ponds, utility corridors, waste rock piles, buttresses, ring dikes, underdrains, closure plans, and instrumentation and monitoring.
+ Site development, access roads, drainage channels, jurisdictional and non-jurisdictional dams, slope stabilization, retaining walls, detention ponds, land development, surface drainage, and stream restoration.
+ Prepare detailed calculation packages for earthwork quantities, reservoir storage capacity, and tailing storage under guidance of senior team members.
+ Knowledge of how to process a variety of data sources to build existing base surfaces from LiDAR, survey points, breaklines, DEMs, and contours.
+ Understanding of coordinate systems and the ability to transform data from one system to another.
+ Ability to take general direction and simple sketches from engineers to then develop design criteria and progress through all stages of design.
+ Data management of survey and client data through the project life cycle.
+ Works under limited supervision.

**Job Description**
**AECOM** is actively seeking a talented **Lead Pipeline CAD - Mapping Designer** for immediate employment in one of our AECOM offices (Baton Rouge, LA; Houston, TX; New Orleans, LA) **.** Our teams strengths are diversity of relevance of clients from federal, municipal, utilities, private, developers, and technology developers working on leading edge projects.
The responsibilities below include but not limited to:
+ Uses CADD and 3rd Party Extensions (Blue Sky Skyline and Plex Earth) with engineering input and standards to design pipelines and plan and profile drawings
+ Communicate project specific pipeline design issues with engineering team
+ Take direction from engineering team and project managers on required design changes
+ Imports Survey data and surfaces to build design basefiles
+ Tracks project design changes
+ Performs complex CADD assignments and coordinates CADD drawing production in support of the manager.
+ Decisions made with general understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines.
+ Understands the implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions.
+ Determines methods and procedures on new assignments.
+ Leads less experienced drafters, showing them how to complete more complex tasks and showing them how the design changes impact individual drawings that need updating
+ Assists in drawing production as needed to meet project deadlines.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
+ Experience shall be in CADD Pipeline Design, mapping and plan & profile drawings and GIS map development.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ 5+ years of pipeline design (plan and profile design) in Civil3D
+ 5+ years pipeline horizontal direction drill design
+ 5+ years of IFB/IFC pipeline alignment sheet plan and profile drawing creation
+ 5+ years of pipeline typical drawings and permit drawing creation
+ 5+ years working with civil survey data for pipeline design
+ Layer management and editing symbology
+ Creating map templates and sheet frames
+ Familiarity with data shortcuts
+ Creating and editing surfaces and surface profiles
+ Reading survey points and point groups
+ Working with offset alignments
+ Creating KMZs and exporting shape files
+ Handling XREFs and large base files
+ Previous experience utilizing Blue Sky Lightning Alignment Sheet Cutter Software.
+ Knowledge of ArcMap GIS Mapping and Analysis Software.
+ Previous experience leading and/or mentoring less experienced mappers.

Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a talented Lead Pipeline CAD - Mapping Designer for immediate employment in one of our AECOM offices (Baton Rouge, LA; Houston, TX; New Orleans, LA). Our teams strengths are diversity of relevance of clients from federal, municipal, utilities, private, developers, and technology developers working on leading edge projects.
The responsibilities below include but not limited to:
* Uses CADD and 3rd Party Extensions (Blue Sky Skyline and Plex Earth) with engineering input and standards to design pipelines and plan and profile drawings
* Communicate project specific pipeline design issues with engineering team
* Take direction from engineering team and project managers on required design changes
* Imports Survey data and surfaces to build design basefiles
* Tracks project design changes
* Performs complex CADD assignments and coordinates CADD drawing production in support of the manager.
* Decisions made with general understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines.
* Understands the implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions.
* Determines methods and procedures on new assignments.
* Leads less experienced drafters, showing them how to complete more complex tasks and showing them how the design changes impact individual drawings that need updating
* Assists in drawing production as needed to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
* Experience shall be in CADD Pipeline Design, mapping and plan & profile drawings and GIS map development.
Preferred Qualifications:
* 5+ years of pipeline design (plan and profile design) in Civil3D
* 5+ years pipeline horizontal direction drill design
* 5+ years of IFB/IFC pipeline alignment sheet plan and profile drawing creation
* 5+ years of pipeline typical drawings and permit drawing creation
* 5+ years working with civil survey data for pipeline design
* Layer management and editing symbology
* Creating map templates and sheet frames
* Familiarity with data shortcuts
* Creating and editing surfaces and surface profiles
* Reading survey points and point groups
* Working with offset alignments
* Creating KMZs and exporting shape files
* Handling XREFs and large base files
* Previous experience utilizing Blue Sky Lightning Alignment Sheet Cutter Software.
* Knowledge of ArcMap GIS Mapping and Analysis Software.
* Previous experience leading and/or mentoring less experienced mappers.

POSITION OVERVIEW: As a CAD Tech III at LJA Land Development, you will be responsible for creating and modifying engineering drawings, maps, and plan/profile sheets to support project design and execution. POSITION OVERVIEW: As a CAD Technician II - Electrical at LJA Energy, you will be responsible for producing and revising detailed electrical drawings for industrial facilities, including lift and pump stations. This role involves working closely with designers and engineers in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:
Producing and maintaining electrical drawings, including plans, elevations, schematics, wiring diagrams, and schedules.
Applying drafting and design standards such as NFPA 70 (NEC) and API RP 500 to ensure quality and compliance.
Coordinating with engineers and designers to update electrical design packages.
Utilizing advanced drafting features in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Managing multiple drafting tasks under tight deadlines while adhering to client and company standards.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
Formal training in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation V8 or newer with certification.
Minimum of 3-5 years of professional, full-time experience in electrical drafting using AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical and MicroStation.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience producing detailed electrical drawings in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
Familiarity with grounding plans, conduit & cable schedules, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
IDEALLY, YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE:
Experience supporting industrial facilities such as lift and pump stations.
Ability to handle fast-paced, project-driven environments with shifting priorities.
