Responsibilities
We seek well-prepared graduates of top civil and architectural engineering schools for entry-level positions in our Diagnostics Group.
In this position the qualified individual will work with a team of engineers to provide engineering services on diagnostics related projects, including forensics, restoration, renovation and rehabilitation of commercial structures and complexes such as arenas, stadiums, convention centers, office and industrial facilities, condominiums, hospital complexes, and parking garages. Sound technical background and excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
Qualifications
Master's in Architectural Engineering or Civil Engineering with structural emphasis
0-3 years of experience required
Demonstrated experience and interest in forensics engineering, building envelope rehabilitation, etc.

POSITION OVERVIEW: As a GraduateEngineer III - H&H at LJA Land Development, you will be responsible for working internally with LJA project managers in our Land Development group to provide various drainage analyses and design support to our land development clients. The H&H group creates drainage studies in support of design for our diverse client base that incorporates their specific needs while providing the added benefits of optimized conservation, amenities, and effective land development plans.

Assist in managing multiple H&H studies in support of Land Development Projects
Proficient in reviewing project requirements to determine and prepare models for the analysis

Proficient in HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, XP-SWMM, and GIS
Experience in advanced H&H modeling, such as HEC-RAS Unsteady and/or 2D modeling is a plus

Working Knowledge in HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, XP-SWMM, and GIS
Experience in advanced H&H modeling, such as HEC-RAS Unsteady and/or 2D modeling is a plus

POSITION OVERVIEW: As a GraduateEngineer II at LJA Land Development, you will be responsible for supporting drainage and floodplain analyses, drainage design, and review services for municipal clients across the DFW metroplex. You will also collaborate internally with LJA project managers to deliver these same services for our land development, transportation, and planning and landscape architecture teams. A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:
Applying basic hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) principles using appropriate modeling applications.
Conducting multiple H&H studies in support of land development and municipal projects.
Reviewing project requirements and preparing models for analysis.
Performing hydraulic calculations and providing direction to technical support or drafting personnel.
Investigating limited variables and receiving supervisory guidance on unusual problems or potential solutions.
Coordinating with internal clients to obtain necessary project data.
Making preliminary decisions regarding conceptual alternative project solutions.
Communicating effectively with internal LJA personnel involved in projects.
Providing input to Project Managers on project scopes and budgets.
Assisting in preparing presentation materials for clients.
Collaborating effectively with team members, Project Managers, Task Leads, and supervisors.

Exercising limited judgment in making preliminary method selections and adopting alternatives.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering required.
Certified Engineer-in-Training (EIT) required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
2+ years of post-graduate experience in detailed civil design of land development water and wastewater facilities including sanitary lift stations, water plants, and wastewater treatment plants, or a Master's degree with 1 year of experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to build strong relationships and work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
IDEALLY, YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE:
Experience using AutoCAD for detailed civil design of land development water and wastewater facilities.
Familiarity with Dallas-area agency approval processes.

POSITION OVERVIEW: As a GraduateEngineer at LJA Land Development, you will use AutoCAD Civil3D, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office and other design and production software to provide design, production, and project administrative support in the delivery of feasibilities, opinions of probable cost, studies, exhibits, construction plans, takeoffs, bid packages, models, and development support tasks for an extensive list of public and private clients. Collaborate with technical experts, peers, and support roles to perform design calculations, prepare equipment or material specifications, and generate technical drawings and exhibits
