RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Site Quality Inspector, you will:
Be responsible for inspecting all site welds and ensuring compliance with governing guidelines.
Stop and report all unsafe conditions and acts.
Understand the governing construction codes.
Understand the inspection and test plan requirements applicable to the work scope.
Ensure welders are qualified for the welding being performed.
Inspect the welds, assigns numbers for the weld map, create weld logs.
Perform all aspects of Hydro-test and Turnover Package maintenance.
Utilize punch lists to identify incomplete items and present to supervision.
Compile all appropriate documents in the turnover package.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 2 years professional experience with piping inspection
Turnover package creation
Experience with at least one of the following: Heat Maps, Weld Maps, Hydro Packages
Certified Welding Inspector with AWS or similar
Knowledge of ASME codes and applications
Has administered weld tests, as required
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a constantly changing environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Excel, WORD, Outlook, and technical aptitude to learn new systems

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Goal: Inspect homes to ensure that they are built to code, they are PFS approved, and have good quality.
Responsibilities include the following:
Inspect daily for quality, appearance, and code items. This is done on-line in varying stations.
Mark areas of the home that need repair or additional work. Call supervisors to come repair any issues. Red Tag homes if they need fixed off-line before shipment.
Re-inspect homes that need more serious repairs.
Keep a daily LINE WALK log to help identify repeats for the plant manager and QC manager. Scan in the line walk sheet and email it out daily.
Log in the CCI items from the PFS write ups and email the report out as needed.
Copy RTS pictures over into the M: drive every week. Cover RTS as needed.
Shingle inspections need done at least twice a week. Scan in the report and email it out.
Mate line measurement needs done at least once a week. Scan and send report out on this.
Monthly - Do the critical item check list every month. Scan and email it to the QC Manager.
Monthly - Do the fastener chart report every month. Scan and email it out.
Weekly - Do testing (gas, electric, and DWV) audits. Scan and email them to QC Manager.
Check Foam rooms, truss inspection, product rotation/storage, etc on a weekly basis.
Update DAPIA manuals in the plant and in the Foreman offices.
PLANT A added responsibility below:
Label Mods with PFS label, state labels, and data plates.
File the EOM (end of month) reports for PFS and required States.
Complete mod check requests for state labels. Order labels as needed.
Update modular log with label #'s, approval #'s, run #, dates, and addresses.
Use the modular cheat sheets and Mod Inspector Training Notes for a more detailed list of what needs done daily/weekly/monthly.

Job Summary:
The Lead Quality Control Inspector oversees and performs inspections of structural steel components throughout the fabrication process to ensure adherence to Alliedâs Quality Management System (QMS), engineering standards, and customer requirements. This position leads quality assurance efforts on the shop floor, provides guidance to other QC inspectors, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to uphold product integrity and production efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Inspection & Quality Oversight:
Lead all QC inspection efforts across production shifts, ensuring compliance with project specs, welding standards, and QMS protocols.
Perform visual and dimensional inspections on beams, columns, plates, clips, and other fabricated parts.
Evaluate welds for conformance; identify and document non\-conformities requiring rework or further testing.
Perform and guide others in Non\-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques, such as dye penetrant inspections.
Ensure parts are properly marked and traceable at all production stages.
Leadership & Communication:
Serve as the primary liaison between QC, production, and engineering for quality\-related matters.
Mentor and train QC team members in inspection standards and procedures.
Lead shift handovers, safety meetings, and quality huddles.
Communicate inspection findings and support documentation to supervisors and management.
Dimensional Accuracy & Traceability:
Use micrometers, calipers, and tape measures to verify component dimensions against drawings.
Validate mill certifications and material traceability (e.g., heat numbers) on incoming steel.
Ensure proper tagging and tracking of non\-conforming materials for isolation or disposal.
Documentation & Control:
Maintain and update inspection records, logs, and final QC reports.
Use handheld\/mobile devices to upload data and photos into facility software.
Manage distribution of updated drawings and promptly remove outdated versions from production.
Equipment & Continuous Improvement:
Monitor calibration and condition of inspection tools; ensure team use of compliant equipment.

Requirements
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of four years of experience in quality control inspection, ideally in structural steel fabrication. Experience with AISC, AWS, or CWB certifications is a plus.
Certifications: AWS or ISO certifications are desirable. NDT certification (Level 1, 2, or 3) must be obtained within six months of hire.
Education: A technical degree in welding, steel materials, or a related field is preferred.
Attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, and familiarity with quality control processes.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

Qualifications
**Experience / Education Required:**
+ Associates Degree in Technical Discipline (may be substituted for quality related experience)
+ At least 4 years hands-on experience in construction, estimation, and/or quality control activities.
