Pay Rate-$27-$33.50 per hour including a lucrative monthly bonus up to $400. POSITION OVERVIEW Prepares and processes all paperwork relating to the shipping of orders for customers. Performs a vital role with regards to safety. Inspects and ensures that are materials meets quality standards. Responsible for a number of critical safety-related functions and responsibilities. Provides excellent customer service. Performs related work as required. REPORTS TO: Fulfillment Manager and Shift Supervisor RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES With Little or No Supervision and Direction: • Is knowledgeable of materials and material locations. • Assist in maintaining inventory on consumables. • Safely locates, identifies, and pulls material indicated on work orders using appropriate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, side loader, and scissor lifts. • Verifies the size of materials and products with the use of calipers, a micrometer, tape measures, and the established color-coding system. • Verifies that pulled material meets or exceeds Company quality standards. • Follow all established Company safety rules. • Creates and models a culture of “safety first”, trains others, and ensures that all associates who work or enter the warehouse follow Company safety rules. • Documents all materials pulled using the IMS process. • Comprehends and utilizes the proper tagging process. • Understands the use of “Heat” and “Lot” numbers and properly identifying and handling related materials • Keeps all material of the same grade kept together. • Is knowledgeable of and institutes proper packaging procedures required for different types of materials. • Follows through on work orders to ensure that correct material is pulled and processed in conjunction with special instructions. • Interacts and communicates with customers and fellow associates in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner at all times. • Maintains a clean warehouse environment by ensuring that proper housekeeping is followed during the shift and effectively coordinated between shifts. • Follows Company protocols assisting in the investigation and documentation of all safety incidents including workers' compensation accidents, near-misses, driver accidents and incidents, and accidents involving customers. • Conducts brief (three minute) safety coaching sessions on an occasional basis at the direction of the Shift Supervisor. • Processes ORD paperwork to include material certificates (MTR), certificates of compliance (C of Cs) and any other customer requests. • Train associates in all aspects of warehouse operations. • Identifies and properly handles brokered items, customer dedicated materials, and buy-outs. • Reads and follows through on work orders to ensure that correct material is properly loaded on Company vehicles. • Assist other departments as needed. • Assists other associates with stocking materials. • Fills in for shift supervisors on a temporary basis when needed. • Updates the location of materials in IMS System when materials are moved. • Efficiently handles sheet material and safely operates cutting equipment. • Inspects product to meet s quality requirements and customer requests. This is a finance position responsible for checking in drivers who have completed their routes by performing product counts, compiling and maintaining records of quantity, type, and value of the material, equipment, merchandise. Also responsible for inspecting all products returns and documenting appropriate information for efficient processing of items. RESPONSIBILITIES Check-in drivers who have completed their routes by verifying product returned, customers signed the invoice and possible missed deliveries; account for pallets, totes and other company property is returned. Identify missed collections and notify Credit Services. Ensure food safety protocols were followed on the return and coordinate with Food Safety personnel for issues. Assure all delivery exceptions are noted on the invoice and/or delivery exception report. Inspect returned products to determine restocking appropriateness or deciding if the customer warrants the credit. Decide and adjust as needed the appropriate reason code on invoice to provide efficient processing; code damaged or inferior products with the appropriate damage code and write the code on the damaged case. Separate and stage for return processing all products, and count the returned items to ensure quantities match the quantity written on the return sheet and invoices. List overage on the return sheet following the "available stock/warehouse location" report to re-enter the product into the inventory system as soon as possible. Job Description Reads customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed. Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas. Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code. Ensures proper storage of products. Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line. Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department. Marks materials with identifying information. Opens boxes, cans, crates, and other containers. Inspects incoming and outgoing material for correct markings, labels and damage. Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed. Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards. Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers. Affixes and/or inspects and verifies labels with correct lot #’s, DOM, product#, etc. Uses computer or other electronic device to enter records. Uses forklift or drives vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse to plant locations or to pick up items from several locations for shipment. Prepares parcels for mailing, shipping or delivering. Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. Determines method of shipment or delivery. Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons. Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers. Inserts items into containers. Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape. Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers. Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage. Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Inspects incoming and outgoing material for correct markings, labels and damage. Routes items to departments. Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. Operates tier lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area. Drives, golf cart or truck/vehicle to deliver or pick up products to and from warehouse on site locations. SUMMARY The Warehouse Worker I stocks, locates, and provides parts to internal and external customers. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS The following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Other duties may be assigned. * Remove parts and components from shipping containers and place them in the proper location. * Remove parts from storage to fill customer orders, parts counter requests, and service department requests. * Process parts returns and restock in proper location. * Perform inventory counts as directed. * Operates lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to trucks, storage, or work areas. * Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance. * Work overtime as needed and within labor law guidelines. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS * Depending on location, may build hoses per customer verbal instructions, written directions, or physical samples. * Assist in other department activities as assigned by the supervisor. * Occasionally operate company vehicle to transport parts to customers or jobsites. * Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation. * Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with customers/ coworkers, including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure. * Respectfully takes direction from supervisor/manager.
